I found this hideous “little” serpentine front dresser on OfferUp and knew it was the one. It was free! Only, when I got there I discovered it was quite a bit larger than I had anticipated. Oh well, she’s a beauty and I’m very excited to share the process with you all.

OH MY GOSH !!! This piece is drop dead gorgeous !!! I love the decoupage in the middle of the drawers and the way you did the edges so it looks like the paper has always been there. Everytime I watch your video's I am sooooo impressed!!!! I love your work, you are sooooo talented!!!! You inspire me! I am a beginner and I am color blind so I try to get ideas on what colors I could use and believe me when I say you are one of the best furniture artist in the business and I watch you tube video's on furniture painting everyday for hours for inspiration and ideas and I feel like I am an expert on this subject, lol, because I seriously probably watch different furniture artist at least 4 to 5 hours a day trying to better myself and YOU are one of my top 10. I've been lurking in the background for months , studying many of the furniture artists styles. I have to tell you, your work is my favorite. You are so sweet and humble. And your work just blows me away. I have painted a few pieces over the years but nothing like you ladies produce. Now, at the ripe old age of 68, I am sick of retirement and I'm going to give this a shot. Girls just wanna have fun, right? I've been mulling paint brands and I very much like Chalk Mountain. They have great colors and their prices are more in line with those with a budget. BTW, I'm stealing your rose gold poly. Though I will probably start with Waverly chalk paint until I get my feet under me. Thank you so much for inspiring an old lady to get off her backside and find a new purpose. Also, who was the artist of the decoupage paper you used on this piece? My stars, it is so beautiful. I hope you get the house you've been saving for. I'm sure you will fill it with beautiful pieces and whole lots of love. TTFN

I was drawn to Chalk Mountain for the price and because it’s no VOC (I started working when my son was a baby and new he would be around all the products) Waverly is a great place to start! And the rose gold poly is so much fun, I’m glad you’re going to “steal” it. The painting on this piece is called The Swing by Fraggonard. He pops right up when you Google him and he has many beautiful paintings you can use for inspiration. Best of luck on your journey!

Wonderful outcome, quite inspiring as well. I noticed another person use wadded plastic wrap (saran wrap) when applying the decoupage, claims it causes tears to be almost nonexistent 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve never decoupaged but thought I’d pass the tip on.

Gorgeous! You can burnish your tape edges with the short side of one of those fake credit cards you get in the mail or a small plastic sparkle spatula with orange core paint tape
