Thanks Jerome... I was in Madison 9/27/24 Friday after the impact 9/26/24... Electricity still out here and after I saw all the lineman in winn dixie and old hospital...still perturb as to how this is day 2 9/28/24 after hit when Duke saying we will access 9/28/24 and will get back to you as to turn on.? after a direct hit initial Perry than Madison with the eye and Wall... the medical offices/facilities without electricity unless they have backup generators?
Having worked hurricane power restoration there are usually two groups of people you encounter, the first group are the ones screaming at you to get their lights back on because they can’t live without all the conveniences, the second group treat it all like a camping trip and often will offer you a cold drink from their ice chest or something off the grill they are cooking in the back yard. Preparation people, it’s all about preparation 😉👍
So I went and rode this out , I was sitting in cvs parking lot recording when the tower fell .... I was recording from front of truck in other direction but the crash the tower made was a noxious loud
Back in late 1999 I was a Medic, serving on a rescue squad. The restaurant we stopped at gave us DOUBLE portions of food and would NOT let us pay for it.
Solid advice and great video Eric! It amazes me how sometimes some people can be rude and nasty to the people who are trying to help them after a disaster like this
Thanks for the video. Glad to see your family rode out the storm. Up here in Maine the big downfall with power is ice storms. Had a big one in 1998. Lost power for weeks. Stay safe and cool if you can.
Glaid you are ok. Great video. The best thing we can do is stay out of the way of workers doing repairs. Report damage just 1 time unless new dammage . First step is open roads . Then the help can come in and do more . Power is restored to hospital's first then outher important infrastructure like pumping stations ,radio stations, emergency ops center . This is going to take a long time. Thank you Eric ! 73
Tried to call you earlier. Didn't think you'd have cell but glad to hear you're safe.
My son is in Madison and Perry restoring power and I’m up in South Carolina restoring power! 73, AI4BI

That self-supporting tower was an old square design built with angle iron. Notoriously susceptible to failure.
Wow, nice response!
Wow! I'm glad you're OK, Eric.
Great video and good advice. Stay safe from West Palm Beach.
Indiana's rescue1 is down there helping you guys
What type of work are you doing?
Towers, LMR, public safety, microwave radio
Great video Eric. Thanks!
Glad you made it through safe!!
Great Video, keep them coming!
Excellent review and good advice..
Appreciated. May I ask about those sporty sunglasses.
Bought them at race trac gas station. I try not to spend more than 15 bucks on glasses.
@@HamRadioConceptsI spend hundreds, I've owned 3 to 5 pairs of "expensive" sun glasses since 1996. I'm very kind to them.
