laughing at the birth control comments 😂
on another note, anyone have any fun Lunar New Year family traditions? I wanna know!
Can you do another Lunar New Year recipe but as a Lost in Translation for Katie and Kelly?
We will put a red pocket money under the pillow
In Singapore we gather as a family and toss Yu Sheng. It's basically shredded vegetables with some spices and honey, plum sauce, etc. And we toss it up with chopsticks shouting our wishes for the year and eat it all. It's basically a salad, but really unhealthy lolol.
Not really but my mom’s aunt she keeps on asking the same exact question to me which is
Which grade are you in?
And she will follow up with wow ur so big study hard ok
visit family, get lots of red envelopes
I hope Jasmine suprises Kelly or Katie with a translated 20 times Lunar new year dessert or dish for Lunar New year for them to recreate
OMGGGG YASS it's the perfect occasion n like it'll come full circle 😂👍🏼✨
YASSSSSSSS
tasty must do this
The part about aunts asking questions about your life is the best 🤣
I love how all aunts all over the world are asking same questions 😂
@@julkap4190 Universal aunt thing 😅
Love how they explain culture too! Each country has traditional food that people eat for some special occasions and I enjoy getting to know them😍
And..all three desserts look incredibly yummy for sure😋💓
I totally miss being able to go to lunar new year festivals and just celebrating them. the memory i had when i was little just walking around at night with my family and looking at the lanterns, the people who preformed chinese dragon dances, the food, the cats that you would pet at the temple, the firecrackers, the money you get ;)) and just the whole time was awesome. hopefully when things clear up they could hold more festivals.
The tangyuan filling can even be peanut, coconut, or just by itself and it still will taste really good 🤤
I love this because a lot of people don’t celebrate this so it’s really nice to see that someone represents its cooking
Very well explained. Everything looks super delicious.
“So don’t use all purpose flour, You”re gonna be so sad”. 🤣😂😂 Any video Jasmine is in I already know I’ll laugh in. 😆
I really wanna make these for my kindergarten class when we celebrate lunar new year next week!!
That'd be fun! I made the last recipe when i was in kindergarten too! Like 20 years ago lol
@@luvmia97blogspot she might be a teacher😂

@@lolaluo4230 but but… shut up
In Indonesia the sesame ball popularly called Onde-Onde, and yes they are delightful to eat 😍👌
And the steam cake is called Apem
Isn't ondeh ondeh the green ball with coconut at the top? Idk I'm form sg and that's what we know ondeh ondeh to be
@@Jx0592 aaah in Indonesia we call it Klepon. But Yes in some parts of Indonesia the name somehow replacing each other the Onde-onde and Klepon.
@@junasarts ohh that so cool to learn how different parts of the country have diff names, and how it affects what it's called overseas
i think even tangyuan is probably what inspired wedang ronde
I love celebrating the Lunar new year with my family back in Thailand, it has always been a blessing that we get to celebrate it together. I moved back to the UK and still keep a tradition of leaving food for a sort of shrine. I didn't have time to pray to it this morning but after I came back from school I sat me and my sister down and taught her what we do. The Lunar new year is something I'd be devastated to lose❤️
My mom is from
Singapore and we live in Switzerland, we haven’t been able to go back to SG for three years and we eat these delicious treats every time we go there so while watching this I remember how delicious it tasted in SG and I miss it so much 😭😭 thank god my mom makes these from
time to time😻
Hey Jasmine, just made the Fortune Cakes. They were amazingly simple thanks to your clear instructions. Can't wait to try them! Happy New Year to you!
This is the first time I've seen Jasmine cook and now I'm a huge fan!
Thank's, Jasmine! This was so informative, entertaining, and fun! Please keep sharing family traditions, here or on your own channel!!!
Lunas New Year was my favorite holiday growing up. The food brings back delicious memories.
I honestly LOOOVEEE Lunar New Year soooo much better than regular new year, bc of all the pretty colors and yummy food! I’m not Asian myself, but I have an adopted sister from China! She also loves Chinese New Year as well, and we decorate our house with similar decorations as in the video! Of course, we couldn’t have as big of a celebration bc of COVID, but we still Zoom each of our family members in a group meeting and they have the same desserts and decorations as us and it’s so fun! 😍 🧧🎎🎊
This was amazing. I am excited for more recipes from Jasmine ❤️
I’ve never celebrated the Lunar new year but these treats look INCREDIBLE. Super cool to learn about this tradition ☺️💚
Yes :)speed
Both her and the blender jumped 🤣
Oh hell yess! I love tangyuan so much, it’s always my most favorite dessert, i always crave for it 🤤
anything shaped round is cute - Rie 2021 and Jasmine cited it again in 2022. Good reminder Jasmine!
I've had these foods every year on Chinese New Year but never like this; hope to try your recipes someday, Jasmine!
These are my favourite desserts too! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. hope there will be more Chinese traditional dessert recipe!
That food processor incident got me better than any jumpscare. :,-)
Your ideas for baking are amazing
Thank you Jasmine!
The Nian Gao looks so good🤤🤤🤤🤤
Watching your channel has never been boring. Great
I love Jasmine!!! 😍
Thank you so much for this video. Our Korean New Year is called "Seollal"! - I appreciate the inclusive awareness you're spreading.
I am so happy you guys made this video! These are all, like ALL of my favorite foods, and it’s asian based too! This makes me so happy, 👍🏼💜🥳🥺✨, I am Cambodian by the way! 🥰
These all look delicious!
Omg gotta try these ❤️
The fortune cakes looked the best 🤤
In Indonesia they are called onde-onde, kue mangkok, and wedang ronde. Very yummy!
First time seeing someone also appreciate others' cultures. Thank you Jasmine, the recipes are dope.
What do you mean, although she's Taiwanese they still have a large chinese population lol.
@@chromberries7329 usually people will say happy chinese new year and barely talk about other countries also celebrate this holiday and how this is an Asian holiday instead of just chinese. So, I’m happy to see an influencer involving other cultures in their videos when talking about Lunar New Year and promoting this holiday the right way.
@@nguyetminhhuynh2128 yeah its almost because... all of them originated from chinese new year lol
@@doorminos well you could do some research to see that it’s still debatable about the origin of Lunar New Year. So just respect the culture of each country instead of claiming anything your own ^^ Happy Lunar New Year mate.
新年快樂,Jasmine!
Definitely will use!!
Ty💕

Just made tangyuan last month during Dongzhi. For lunar New year I gotta make some fortune cakes. I usually buy them but this year I'm kinda starting to get into cooking
Black sesame is my favorite filling for Tangyuan... It looks so good 🥺 and I'm team hot broth but I like it both ways ✌🏻
Same!!! Altho I'm still child at cuz my favorite filling is peanut butter (I.e. straight up jiffy). 😂

Drooling

Traditional food is the best!! Love from A foodie from Pakistan ❤️
Thank you for using the term Lunar New Year to encompass all cultures that celebrate this special holiday.
Happy Tet to my fellow Viet!
its not even lunar new year bc its from the lunisolar calendar not lunar calendar
Mochi everything please. 🤤 😋
TANG YUAN MY FAVOURITE
Tangyuan is definitely my favourite! But I like mine sometimes with soy milk and yam/ube and sago pearls instead.
We called the sesame ball one, "buchi" here in PH ✨ now im craving🥺
Here in the Philippines it is tradition to eat Tikoy or glutinous rice cake. Doesnt matter if you are Chinese or not. You gotta have it. And it’s my favorite. 🥰
I think Tikoy is a word from Hokkian, which means sweet dessert.
lovely
omg i make tangyuan all the time
Perfect so delicious oh my god super❤ i want a cake
YASS cny~ food being one of the best things abt it...🤤🤤✨✨
Food and red envelopes full of money loli

I remember all these but sadly I didn’t really like the first two but love the last one but with different fillings cuz I seriously hate black sesame. I Remember the adult laugh at me. They used to said I’m the weird child lol. Thanks Jasmine for this video sure do bring back lots of good childhood memory for me.
YAY! same club as me.

Those fried sesame ball taste so good, I can’t make any so I just buy it at the bakery
I’ve never needed to eat anything more in my life than the last one 😭
Wow.... Im feeling like Jasmine is gonna be my next best friend.. Will try making them this Cny!!
Jasmine, please could you make for us all the types of tea you like. The way you say it to me makes me always wonder... Yes, I know you did boba, but could you do more? Thank you
Oh my god this video brings up so many memories. Thank you!
More of this pls ❤️
Woah! That food processor gave me a jump scare well in a positive way as it was excited for the lunar new year after all :)
anyone else think she was making something that looked like birth control from the thumbnail?
The last one reminds me of Yun Jin's speciality in Genshin Impact haha. I love learning about different Asian cultures, its always so fascinating ^^
soo TASTY!
Our tradition when its Lunar New Year is just to spend time with our family and like a traditional new year
虎年大吉大利!

Good job
In Indonesia we call sesame ball as Onde-Onde :)
I celebrated Chinese New Year a while back while holidaying in South East Asia. It just so happens they were having a celebration outside my hotel window! What a great time!
*_I was hungry watching this video. Is there anyone like me?_* 😝😝😝
