    • @GeeBee212
      @GeeBee212 5 місяців тому +1

      @@willythemailboy2 That is not what parole means. When sentenced in NYS you get what is called an indeterminate sentence. Ex. 1 1/2 years to 3 years. The minimum that you must serve according to NYS Correction Law is the minimum minus good time. So that would be one year. It is not early release because you have served what the judge sentenced you to serve.
      The maximum expiration in this case would be three years, less good time but either way your first parole hearing would be right before the one year mark. If you are granted parole at anytime within the indeterminate sentence, you are under parole supervision until your max out date. If you remain in prison until your max out date, you are released free and clear. NO SUPERVISION.
      In federal cases, defendants receive "determinate" sentences where they serve your "flat" sentence and then are released, again, without supervision. If a person who was sentenced to 1 1/2 - 3 years had received a flat sentence it would have only been for the 1 1/2 years, not the 3. so parole isn't the problem, the sentencing structures are the problem. All but a very few prisoners will be released and We WANT release with supervision.

    He could get up to 25 years this time if convicted. Any less would be uncivilized. He went to prison for breaking into the apartment of an acquaintance, stabbing her and attempting to throw her tender aged child from a third floor window. Shortly after being released from prison for that crime, while on parole, he shoves his girlfriend in front of a moving train, causing her to lose both of her legs. This man is a menace to society. He should receive life in prison. It makes no sense to me how the system bends over backwards to treat offenders humanely when all they do is unleash their inhumanity on the public.
