I want to know why Rover doesn't make people record everything with the pet sitting. I believe that should happen or have a certified vet person sit the animals. It's a horrible incident and I don't understand why a gun had to be used. Why would he attack the woman unless he was provoked

He never called the cops for help when the dog supposedly attacked his wife.
Also, his wife was the one that agreed to sit the dog and also told the owners not to worry or get their dog when the dog fight happened. She told them not to worry.
No one went to the hospital, no cops were called on his side, just killed the dog and went on with his day. Thats not normal. Normal people would have called police at least.

Wife didn’t have a scratch on her, didn’t go to the hospital (if you get attacked by a dog you have to go to the hospital, you can get a terrible infection), there’s no proof the attack happened at all. The man shot for no reason.

Thats the story the pitbull brigade is pushing, they're also making allegations that this couple had on numerous occasions abused people's pets and for whatever reason Rover ignored numerous complaints.
It's possible but I doubt it, especially from the folks who constantly mislabel their breed of dog, take them everywhere without leashes, run off after an attacks.
I find the sitters side of the story to be more likely.

There may have been a reason but I don't for a second believe the dog went after his pregnant wife . He claims the dog got into a tussle with another dog , pits don't tussle with unfamiliar dogs just guessing he allowed (which he should not have ) the pit to play with someone's dog it got out of hand and he shot the pit . Or it was an accident he may have just accidentally shot the pit idk but he is definitely not being truthful . If he is a pet professional he should never have to shoot someone's dog period

I wonder what would’ve happened if the dog didn’t get shot, would that unborn baby still be alive? Would the pregnant lady be alive? We don’t know but I can assure you those two lives are far more important than a dog.
Unpopular opinion but those dog owners were irresponsible and probably shouldn’t have had the dog in the first place. Never leave a rescue with strangers. Never leave your dog in a stressful situation. That’s on them and these are the consequences of those choices. Their vacation was more important than going back for their beloved pet after the first incident with the sitters dog.
Did anyone else forget that the guy said the dog attacked his pregnant wife or are all just stuck in yall feelings that yall aint willing to look at the rest of the evidence
attacked....past tense So after the attack he just killed the dog. of course wife had no scratches or even went to the hospital. If they know their dog is aggressive why aren’t they disclosing it to the sitters? The dog attacked and pregnant woman and another dog and they have to absolutely gull to say it was for no good reason?
Use your head. If the guy who did this was in any way reasonable and this shooting was justified don't you think he would have had the sense to explain the situation better instead of saying "come get your f*****g dog's body off my property"? He's a hothead who WANTED to do this and probably exaggerated the dog's actual aggressiveness. They were already on their way to pick up the dog which the sitters said was in a crate. He MADE this happen.

Where did you get your info? I’m confused. The video says, (The dog came at the pregnant woman and the sitters dog got into a tussle) not attacked. Think of push and shove vs fist fight. That’s probably why the guy was arrested. Owners should have taken their dog on vacation too. He was supposed to be part of the family. I’d like to know more on this. There has to be more to it.
@@jjones4123 they used softer language, but that doesn’t change the meanings. A tussle is still a fight, and if the came at the pregnant woman in any way that would concern the sitter it wasn’t in a safe manner
This isnt animal cruelty, this man was protecting his wife. Its unfortunate of course but people are more important. Authorities will even kill wildlife that attacks people. This is mislabelelld as animal cruelty when based on what was said doesnt seem to be.

I don't know what to think. I feel bad for the family that lost there pit bull. What really happened at the pet sitter, did Remy go after the pregnant woman or was she bitten or was Remy aggressive and out of control? Why didn't Craig put Remy in another room and call the police or was Remy too out of control to get him isolated? For me personally I love dogs and cats and I have thought about being a sitter or dog walker, however I have dropped the plan completely because I do not trust pit bull type dogs. The reason is because I feel that they are too powerful and tenacious. I feel if a pit bull type or pit bull mix dog snapped while in my care. I fear that I would not be able to stop them.

Our pets are our babies! Like losing a closer family member!!😢😭 i have a pit and wec would be devastated. Shes 11 years old. Our 10 year old daughter would be absolutely heartbroken!! She and that dog are inseparable 😢

This situation is 100% the owners fault I read reviews on rover from others who used them whenever they needed someone to watch their dog, same scenario happened to their dog that happened to this one, the dog died. If the owners had paid attention and read reviews they could have spared themselves the heartache of losing their dog. Rover takes random people off the street hires them without background checks and those people get sent to people’s houses to watch their pets. So am I surprised a dog sitter killed a dog that was from rover ? No not really smh
With the breed of this dog it's hard for me to not imagine that the allegations made by the pet sitter are true. Would certainly need more evidence before judging anything but you can tell these two loved that dog, terrible situation honestly for all involved.

Umm so we are not considering the threat was real? My daughter is currently pet sitting a pitbull that we were told is extremely friendly and she has tried to attack the two men in my family. We keep her away from them but it's hella inconvenient and we are concerned that she may go ahead and hurt them.
It's probably true. Especially if he was a rescue because a lot of times they come from a bad past. But he didn't have to say "come get your f*cking dead dog's body off my property".

Pet sitters have been killed by pits so often its a common theme these days. Don't let your daughter pet sit people aggressive dogs. These things have disfigured a lot of women too.

And they called about the dog being aggressive for what, a cover story? There are a multitude of cases of pit bulls redirecting aggression from dogs onto humans, even their owners - happens all the time. Pit bull enthusiasts are completely delulu, which is why every shelter is full of "oops litter" pibbles and 1M get euthanized a year.

Because they couldn't show the officers any proof. No dog bites, no video, uncooperative with investigators because deep down he knows it didn't happen that way. Who kills a dog and goes on with their day? Didn't call the cops for the death, no incident report, no animal hospital? Nope, just a mean call to the owner to get the body. That whole statement screams he's lying.
Evidently the police have enough evidence to know that it is not true.

He clearly said he met with the dog before the day he doggy sat for the vacationers. He gave his own free will and personally cleared that this pooch wouldn't be a problem. Any mother or father knows, it's not that you had a problem, but it's how you chose to handle the problem. The dog isn't the problem here, the man's ability to vet and clear problem pooches is his fault.

I’m sorry, but both of them failed. The owners should’ve immediately went and got their dog. They should’ve never listened to them and say no don’t come. No there’s a problem. The dog isn’t getting along with another dog that’s on the property which shouldn’t of happened 1:52 in the first place unless he’s a kennel owner But regardless, even if he’s a kennel owner and they call and say there’s a problem I’m coming to get my dog. I don’t care what anybody tell me. Oh everything is fine. We have it under control. I’m jumping in my vehicle and getting to my dog.
As a pet owner myself, this hurts me to the core but when I go on vacations, I make sure the vacations that I go on I can bring my dog because I don’t trust my dog with anybody and he’s not comfortable staying anywhere. I don’t even drop my dog at the vet when my vet tells me drop him here will do all his exams and call you. I don’t even do that Because my dog will freak out foaming at the mouth stress even when he had surgery I waited outside, brought my laptop, my snacks, and I’m sitting outside waiting.
People are too trusting with strangers all these pet sitter apps I’m tired of seeing this in the news. Their dogs are getting killed all these crazy people that they’re trusting their pets with not me.
Problem is, the sitter literally said “no don’t come get him its okay he is in a kennel we will be fine”
The owners tried to pick him up early but Kalli the wife and sitter told them no. This was stated in a couple articles.
