The new CEO is awesome, seen him in many videos now and giving interviews. Nice to see a chap with so much drive and passion. Really do wish these guys well.
My dad owned a DMC-12 I learned how to drive in it. I also took my drivers test in it. After my dad passed away it was willed to me however my dads lawyer had a lien on the car and was taken from me. I fought to get the car back even paid what my dad supposedly owed to get the car back. The lawyer refused to give me the car back So I took him to court found out the lawyer obtained the lien illegally and had no rights to own the car. He was order to return the car pay back what I paid to him to get the car back and $30,000 in damages. I still own it. I ls swapped it. I did it with my son and I'll pass it on to my him.
I'm glad you fought hard for it! It would be a shame to let that thing go. Especially with how much it meant to you. And now you get to keep sharing those memories with your son! That's awesome
My aunt and uncle live in Houston. One time about six years ago when I was visiting I asked if we could go check out the DMC factory. We took about a 30 mile ride to go see it and yeah it looks exactly the same today. They had about 20 cars lined up outside and a couple sitting on the "showroom" floor. I asked for permission to sit in one and they said "That's fine-just don't have anything in you back pockets". So that's when I finally got to sit in a Delorean. Got the photos' to prove it.😁 They have the final door assembled in Ireland hanging on the wall signed by all the factory workers. Too bad they didn't show it.
That's awesome! All the guys there are super nice. They have a ton of DeLorean memorabilia in there (well I guess at this point, everything DMC is memorabilia! lol)
I happened upon a car show as I was leaving coming back from the mall where I literally had just gotten a Johnny Lightning BTTF Delorean die cast car when I was a teenager around 2000 and happened to see a fucking Delorean with the gullwing doors popped open from the highway! My friends and I doubled back around and when I went up to see it my mind was literally melting from the awesomeness! I can say I also got to sit inside of it and it was a surreal experience! 20 years later and it was one of the coolest experiences I ever had. I mean what are the odds I had just picked up the little collectable toy car and happened upon the real deal not even a few miles away!
That CEO is the perfect guy for that company no doubt. His passion and his knowledge for the cars is just on point so kudos to him and his staff and nothing but praise.
Wow, I’ve loved the Delorean ever since watching ‘Back to the Future’ in the mid 1980’s as a kid and it is so awesome to see how passionate the DMC owner is to see that this iconic car is around for future generations. Fantastic tour of the factory and a most incredible time capsule. Thanks for making this video and keep up the awesome content!
This is freaking awesome 👌 that they still keeping these cars alive and the same way they look in the 80's this guy is the real doc brown of DeLorean's love it this video made my day 😀
I always thought that John DeLorean was some sort of engineering genius, but comparing him to Musk makes him only a boss that took all the fame in the place of his engineers (If we leave out the business part of the company). But Musk was not even arrested for drug trafficking yet 😂😂😂
"Time capsule" - that is indeed the right term for it. It is amazing that ALL the stuff from the original company still exists and being appreciated by different generations of people. Sure, the movie gave DMC the spotlight back in the day - now the old & new car has the chance to conquer the modern times. 😎👍
Holy shit I'd be drooling like an idiot walking through the Delorean factory, as a 51 year old man these cars are a bucket list drive 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘But they're hard to find here in Australia
But where are the flux capacitors ? He a Brit from the midlands ish sounds like Liverpool ish running a DMC company in the states respect ✊ wasn’t expecting that ! What a great guy very passionate and what a fabulous outfit …certainly wish I had one . Great vid thanks man 👍
Always been a cool car, just some of us who loved it from day one were too young to afford it. I actually had an opportunity to work on one and was beyond impressed for what it was. Kudos to the new CEO and DMC, wish more classics had such a dedicated support system.
The CEO should begin contemplating exhaust deals with Borla and Magnaflow for all of those Gearheads that are gonna want a broader range of exhaust notes in 2022.
He's trying to keep the car as true to the original as possible, but that would definitely be a good idea for magnaflow to jump on that before the relaunch!
I thought your project was pretty interesting, but thank you for taking the time to show your viewers a tour of the Huston facility. It means more and more to the community when DeLoreans get their time to shine. Not for Back to the Future, but their rich history and hopeful future 🤜 🤛 -VIN 4693
Thanks for another informative video. I’m really happy to see someone breathing life into the DeLorean again. I hope they really focus on the EV concept of it.
That 4,000 mileage car probably was not used because a time traveller went back in time and hid it in a secure location and retrieved the car when they traveled back to their present.
"I went back in time to secure a solid investment for my future self!" "Oh, you bought some stock in apple or amazon" "Even better. I stashed a DeLorean away!" lol
Where is the episode of the finished delorean when did it turn to gold? Saw the Sema video but seems like there was lots of work done after. Awesome build!
Good to see they're working on new carbon underpinnings. Those original tubs were a joke...it was explained to me by factory workers at the time that the molds didn't cool off enough between layups. Most likely this caused undesirable exothermic reaction in the resin. Many of the cars had blistering problems and often the rivnuts would pullout or spin as well. If you ever restore a DMC12 be careful when you remove the fenders because sometimes there's a hex nut on the backside of the spinning rivnut. That's because I used to superglue that nut to the end of my fingertip to install it! Man, if Zap superglue wasn't around in 1980/81 DeLorean would have gone outta business nevermind the cocaine and the bankruptcy.
Thank you for sharing that tour. That was AMAZING! I love the Delorean and horsepower but for a new modern car, I’d love to have an electric Delorean. Lol
@@SalvagetoSavage "They dont make them like they used to" lol. Also LOVE the builds and looking forward to the Miami video! It would also be cool to see you guys race the truck against the DeLorean.. would make a cool video as well!
There were a TON of dealerships that ended up painting the cars when they were new because so many people hated the look of the raw stainless. Times have definitely changed!
I like the replica EV idea more than the EV concept, especially if it somehow improves weight distribution of the original, because at least it will LOOK like a DeLorean.
Wow thanks for that, I now need to take a trip to Houston. Great video and the CEO seems to be the perfect man for the job. An endeavor like this requires someone who bleeds DMC and he is the one.

Love the Delorean. I wish they could change the chassis and upgrade it to a better Looking one. and Put a lot more HP and torque into the cars. that is the number of liter. What Type of engine is it?110 HP and a Leo mph. That is too low..
The guy has done well for himself. That’s a serious passion and financial commitment to buy all that stock in the hope of making something of it all. 40 year game plan coming together nicely
Ok ,I just dont get it. It was an over hyped car with disapointing performance. And the stainless steel and gullwing doors looked nice but just weren"t practical.
@@SalvagetoSavage That would be a great option for an electric version, cut the weight before the batteries go in, being stiffer, it’ll better handle the battery weight and make the car handle better via chassis rigidity, then there would be the “Cool!” factor just from it being made from carbon fiber!
