- We have found the crown jewel of DeLorean DMC-12s! In episode 69 of ‘Cars, Shops & Collections’ we visit Mike Nicholl the owner of Classic & Collectible Cars in Las Vegas and breakdown his latest find… A one family owned 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 with only 13,387 Miles.
This Delorean has been meticulously cared for by its owners and has spent most of its life sheltered in garages, cherished like a timeless work of art.
Mike gives us a bumper to bumper and rubber to roof look at this extraordinary 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 that features a brushed stainless-steel body, black leather interior, gullwing doors, staggered-diameter alloy wheels, a louvered rear hatch cover, air conditioning and a AM/FM Cassette radio!
Get ready to be transported back in time to an era of innovative design and quirky features.
Be sure and check out other episodes of “Cars, Shops & Collections.” Every week I feature the stories behind classic cars and the people that own them.

Absolutely love it. I’m a big fan of the DeLorean.
The air vent intake is right by the gascap and upside down the gullwing doors won't open . Maybe emergency hydraulic door jack or hinge release design or move the tank . But i guess i coukd say worse for a lawn mower . And i love the coolness of the way it looks .
My favorite car ❤
And this DeLorean is so clean! Love it!
Great vid as always.
I appreciate it! Gene crushes the edits!
Nice to see one completely original!
Nissan definitely took notes on this interior for their 300zx..
Wow! I have never noticed the similarities before... but you can see them!
My grandpa had two of them. One was Manufacture Oct 81 VIN SCEDT26TXBD004256 gray interior manual trans with less than 3600 miles if I recall. He bought in about 1988 and it sat in garage for a long time. He ended up finding out it didnt run properly because the fuel tank was full of sludge. He never finished putting it back together before his death. I finished it around 2012 and my grandma decided to sell.....for a LOT less than it was worth. His second was a black interior auto trans and this one was museum quality....It was unfortunately sold out of the family as well. too bad I cant post pics on here.
Wow! Yeah - I wish we could see the pics!!
With a Canadian speedometer you can actually get up to 88 km in the Puente Hills Mall parking lot. I grew up going to that mall weekly. It was awesome area to be a kid in the 80s.
That is so cool! Yeah.... that is a cool fact about the movie, used KM!
It can go over 150mph but the speedometer only goes to 80 . An artist created a speedometer scale for movie shots .
Fun video! Love your enthusiasm for the car! Been listening to your radio show for years had no idea you were a fan of the Delorean. I’m in charge of the local Delorean owners group here in Las Vegas. Hopefully this car gets sold to a local.
Thanks for watching! We should connect and film an episode!
The fist holding the wrench logo on the screen almost looks like DMC
Two iconic logos! Well... at least one is Iconic. lol. Thanks for watching!
Nice...wondering how much it was sold or what's the asking price if it's still available...
Thanks for watching! I know it has been sold… I’ll find out the $$$.
DeLoreans are still very expensive cars, they are going for 70 to 80K and up non running ones are going for 30K+ FYI the DeLorean letters on the back weren't painted white. they had stainless steel letters that you could add on or take off. i believe this D unfortunaterly fell victim to bob the butcher aka videobob! he buys DeLoreans and make them into nice BTTF time machines he also lives in vegas. so i'm pertty sure he sucked it up.
Bob didn’t buy this car. Wrong color interior for him.
Thanks for the tip on the letters!
