There are a thousand ways to beat that! There are weapons like the encrypted paw that the shield cannot block, the shield does not stop magic 100% either! A mediocre wizard simply walking away and casting spells destroys him, because being overweight prevents him from dodging or doing anything other than walking... not to mention status effects! he simply faced a one-armed man...

The likelihood of someone running kick is freaking low man, AND the guard boost (the stat on the shield which dictates how much stamina is lost when blocking) is JACKED on this shield. The shield is literally on steroids.

Was poorly equipped for the fight use a faster weapon with elemental or DoT proc so that you can block or dodge a followup shield attack. When he does the shield bash should roll behind and always stay close if he knows an attack is comming you're screwed if an attack can come at any time the slower attacker and slower reflexes will lose eventually.
Frozen needle is probably the best weapon against this build. The heavy attack is a ranged frostbite attack and costs no FP meaning you can use it as much as you want. Just need good spacing and you'll eventually kill him (if he doesn't use a consumable to remove build-up).

As using the armor from the video, which grants the most poise out of any in the game, as well as the bull goat talisman which grants even more poise, it is therefore extremely difficult to interrupt attacks. This is also a play on a quote from Metal Gear Rising Revengance where a boss in the game, senator Armstrong says: “NANOMACHINES, SON” in response to the main character; Ryden asking “WHY WON’T YOU DIE”
Funnily enough, death mist, night maiden's mist, or rotten breath would have eaten this wall in seconds since he's too fat to keep out of them lol. And really, the frenzy spam _also_ could have worked if the guy hadn't wasted all his FP trying to hit him with the lightning. If the former, I assume it has very high base guard boost (the stat that determines how much stamina is consumed when you block an attack), which is typically increased every ~2 or 3 levels for a shield. As far as I understand, guard boost works like negation, the percentage of the stamina 'damage' the attack deals that the shield negates. The greatshield talisman gives that a flat boost (iirc). If the latter... have you never had an enemy break your stance while shielding because they dealt more hits than your stamina could withstand?
You know it just occurred to me that Elden ring built many bosses around being fast and evasive but imagine one that is just this. A very slow moving, near invincible brick that doesn’t have ranged attacks or spammable counters. It just turns the dodge spam game into “Oh Christ it’s just walking at me and I actually have zero idea how to stop it”. That to me is really interesting.
The crucible Knights are probably the closest to that, they walk at you, block stuff and hit hard. Only difference is that they sometimes just break into a sprint when you least expect it and then at half health start flying and doing all kinds of crazy

@@grimmy7867 It might be a viable stategy to consider in the future. Purposefully blow yourself up to bait the weak enemy to get close in a vain attempt to take you down despite not having the dps to do it fast enough vs you smashing them dead with a single shield strike.

the counter for this build is to simply run to the other side of the arena over and over until the opponent gets tired of chasing you
Would be a sound tactic if Souls player invaders didn't have the attention span of a goldfish.
I won 15ish invasions back in DS3 by just dodging long enough that the mound maker decided its easier to kill the other invader than my slippery ass.

@@qwery486 status build up vs fingerprint is fairly slow unless using cold/poison mists and even then, bollus's exist... just use Shield piercing weapons, there's quite a lot of them

What makes this build so scary isn't the fact that they deal no damage to you, rather it's how you walk towards them like Michael Meyers. Always hunting for someone to crush against the wall
until they met a bow main user with poison and rot arrows.

@@crazierthorn10 Are you asking why it would consume no stamina, or why you would want it to consume no stamina?
If the former, I assume it has very high base guard boost (the stat that determines how much stamina is consumed when you block an attack), which is typically increased every ~2 or 3 levels for a shield. As far as I understand, guard boost works like negation, the percentage of the stamina 'damage' the attack deals that the shield negates. The greatshield talisman gives that a flat boost (iirc).
If the latter... have you never had an enemy break your stance while shielding because they dealt more hits than your stamina could withstand?

You know it just occurred to me that Elden ring built many bosses around being fast and evasive but imagine one that is just this.
A very slow moving, near invincible brick that doesn’t have ranged attacks or spammable counters. It just turns the dodge spam game into “Oh Christ it’s just walking at me and I actually have zero idea how to stop it”. That to me is really interesting.
The crucible Knights are probably the closest to that, they walk at you, block stuff and hit hard. Only difference is that they sometimes just break into a sprint when you least expect it and then at half health start flying and doing all kinds of crazy
I believe cipher pata and the coded sword are both counters to things like this. Cipher pata also has 0 weight so you can just pocket it.
