    Yoga for busy people?
    Well, yes.
    I am delighted to bring you, for the first time ever, the shortest version of the classical Sivananda Yoga Class.
    Times have changed - the original version was 90 minutes.
    It was another era altogether. We had some time for ourselves.
    When we started the Gurgaon Sivananda centres way back in 2004, I realized people needed a shorter version - people were in a rush, and could not spend 90 minutes in a class, without compromising their other responsibilities.
    So we designed and presented the 60 minutes class.
    In the last decade, the times have changed even more dramatically.
    What has not changed however, over these many, many years of my own practice, and my teaching students, is the love and enjoyment of and the commitment to doing the Sivananda class.
    Therefore, without hampering the content, or the flow, or the basic underlying intention of providing a beautiful, soothing, relaxing, yet physically and mentally strong yoga class, we recently recorded the 30 minutes version. This is the next step in the evolution of yoga in modern times.

    Arun Pandala, Yoga Acharya (Master of Yoga) - with 30 years of experience in the system, he is one of the senior-most Sivananda trained teachers in India. He is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher ERYT 500 and a Continuing Education Provider YACEP certification from Yoga Alliance. He is the joint founder, joint director and senior acharya at the Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon.
    Arun brings great passion, and a burning desire to share his yoga knowledge with the world. He is an extraordinary teacher, who makes the ancient science come alive, accessible, and relatable for modern day practitioners. he teaches with humour and compassion, he walks the talk, and understands how yoga can transform individuals, families and the planet itself.

    Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon was set up on 1 April 2004 by Yogacharyas Arun Pandala and Deeksha Jain Prasad.     Than you arun🌈I just did the class. It felt invigorating and grounding physically and mentally. Good pace. I love doing the peacock so felt inspired to add this in after the crow! 30 mins of self care very supportively and lovingly spent. b4 going out to work in our Brighton community delivering letters and parcels. 😇🎆💕

    I also loooved this 30 min practice!
    I just wanted to do the one hour version in the morning and then saw this one
    This is so great as I often can't get motivated in the morning to do one hour.
    So no more excuses with half an hour :)
    Would love to have more of this shortened version

    I have tried several other classes, this is by far the best, I started this a week ago. My only problem is sheersh asana , could you recomend a alternative posture for that ? Thanks again

      Thank you for practicing. You can continue to be in the child's pose, as that is very beneficial. You can also attempt the first 5 steps of the headstand as those are safe and you will get many benefits. You can follow the link below for the steps. Om Shanti

    Thank you for the practice. I have done a few and my biggest problem is my thighs are big. When I try to put my feet together, my thighs are big and sort of cause my knees to splay out a little. What are your recommendations?

      Thank you for practicing with us. We should practice by accommodating our physical structure. For some postures, it will help you to keep your legs apart slightly in order to have better balance and to avoid the knees from moving outwards.

      Thank you for practicing with us. You can continue to relax in Childs pose. That gives you similar benefits to the headstand is also good for the neck. If its difficult to keep the forehead on the mat, you can keep a thick pillow/book there so you don't have to bend the neck too much. Hope this helps you. Om Shanti

    Please lie down , relax in savasana just for a while. Arms and legs comfortably apart. Palms facing sky. Relax your body.. come down your mind. Connect with your breathing, free up the breath. Feel the body expanding as you inhale , contracting as you exhale . So long deep inhalation, so long complete exhalation . Each inhalation bringing you fresh energy ( prana). Each exhalation making you more and more relaxed. Inhale energy , exhale relax ….. RELAX ….. R.E.L.A.x ….R..E..L..A..X. Ohmm . Bring your feet together , stretch both arms over behind your head -inhale give nice long stretch & exhale release the arms. turn into one side come and sit up in padmasana.
