Hey Chris, a great next video woufl be to try out the DJrs4 in a Easyrig mode underslug, I think thats the way that many of us working with narratives and Music video would work with. peace out
Awesome product and great video! Was luck enough to check one out in Melbourne
Feel like this product is a good starting point. A joint partnership to develop a build-in solution to an easy rig would be the product to buy. Still a very impressive product!
This is the perfect solution for using on the cheap chinese easy rigs. I am getting one for sure.
great video
Love would love to see the Easy Rig, Ronin R2 & Mantis working together -
So good 👌🏻
I need one ! It's exactly what was annoying me about the easy rig the blu cing while walking which is why I did most of my walking shots handheld so this doesn't fully fix it but defo mitigates it !
Reminds me of the ergorig undersling attachment! This gets you from waist to shoulder faster seems like! However, makes the already high and clunky arm even higher and clunkier… different tools for different tasks i suppose!
was gonna say it defiantly reminds me of the walter klassen slingshot but seems far less cumbersome and way more versatile.
It does add about 3" to the top of the easy rig. You can also flip the easy rig adapter upside down and then it only sits about 1" higher than the easy rig.
I am always a bare hand handheld guy. easy rig is okay but not agile enough for my style and would love to try this combo
Ive never liked using Easyrigs for handheld. They always fought against me. even the Stabil. But this seems to be it.
Hey Chris love to see two tests 1. Stabile arm & Mantis /// 2. stabile arm, mantis & ronin R2 ...
It'l be super nice to see a comparison with easy rig + mantis - zeegee on a steadicam arm and vest, I know they're very different tools, but since both are aiming to get a handheld look, will be awesome to study them, especially being in Finland have no access to both of them!!!
Ez Rigs were the shit when they first came out. Now not so much. Happy to see some tech thats improving the game.
at 21:40, you can also do this with a trinity, Steadicam rig, as the gimble is on the end like a spear head.
Sure can! Just need an extra $70,000 :)
Are there any plans for something that works with the new ReayRig Nimbus Crossbar?
Yes, we are actively working with Alessandro to come up with something.
@@chrisherr Awesome! Those are great news
looks so nice, does the vega help out much with footstep isolation or is the mantis doing most of the work? Just wondering if a standard readyrig + mantis could be a good option
There is definitely a combination happening. But you'll really see a huge improvement if you use mantis with the OG ready rig.
Looks fantastic. What is the expected longevity of the rubber tether?
We're expecting at least a year of heavy use. But the beauty is that it's cheap and easy to replace. Think of them more as expendables than something you need to care after for long term use. Replacement bands will be about $20
Have you tried it with an easytilt?
I’d like to watch this but with the Easyrig serene. Seems like a more fair fight..
This is true, we'll be doing more comparisons soon. But the Mantis does give you other benefits outside of just stabilizing the Z axis. Larger boom range, easier adjustments of tension, ability to mount to a variety of rigs, easy rig, speedrail, ready rig etc.
Thanks for the more detailed video! For the hook attaching to the camera, is there any concern of it popping out of its receiver? How does that secure confidently?
We are adding a safety mechanism to it
Nice...rig
this shit 🔥🔥🔥
Which easy rig do you use? The vario 5?
Ready rig vega + 2 mantis and a ronin seems like a killer combo. But that's probably around the pricing of a steadycam and I'm not sure what's the pros of this over a steadycam
Eh, vega, mantis and ronin is about $15,000 brand new. Steadicam with a volt is going to be $40,000 +. And with the Ronin 2 you also get a remote head, the ability to hand it off during a shot, dolly mounting, dual operated hand held etc etc.
@chrisherr I'm convinced
What are the handles underneath your camera ? I want it for my Gemini haha
I think they were tilta handles
How will these work on the longer and shorter EasyRig arms?
Our easy rig adapter has extendable pins that will give you a little more reach on a short arm easy rig. And on longer arms you can always slide the adapter back to wherever you want the elastic to come down. i.e. over your shoulder.
seems like i dont need vega upgrade anymore, just gimme pair of these
That Ready rig did have the Vega installed on it, seems like the perfect combo is both of those together. I wonder if Chris has data from a test with the Old RR bands vs he RR vega bands?
@@CalvinFalk Would like to know as well.
Regulations need to come in and stop cameras from being so heavy they require you to be bionic. I admire the move to being comfortable so people can shoot all day long for years instead of blowing knees and backs out at 32.
