You can tell that this is a drummer (Dave Grohl) playing guitar. Just getting back into my guitar after 5 years and came across your channel. Wow, just wow! Your teaching style and CONCISE instruction is inspiring. I follow all the big guitar instruction channels and find yours, by far, the best. I'm scribed up and ready to roll...thanks my man.
I just palm-muted for the first time ever, and just couldn't stop smiling, that part with the power chords sounds phenomenal on acoustic! Thanks for the tutorial :)
That's so great! It's a really cool technique for sure and you'll use it in many songs. Glad to have you here with us!
Shane
YES!! I've been playing for 7-8 years, and someone told me early on that muting is the MAIN THING to sounding like a great guitar player and, even years later, I couldn't agree more!
That, and thousands of hours of practicing the techniques you suck at..
ive been playing for about 8 months, watched a ton of tutorials, and never have i seen someone explain palm muting so easily and effectively! thank you sir!
Thanks Matty - so glad it helped you. Very happy to have you here with us. Cheers!
Shane
Yeah he did explain easy
I've seen loads of UA-cam teachers. You're the best.
Thank you Ed - what a great comment to start my day off with here. Greatly appreciated! Shane
As usual, great lesson Shane! I especially like how you break down the bass vs. chords strumming and make it very easy to learn.
Thank you carbinmind - really appreciate that and very glad you enjoyed it - plenty more videos coming - cheers!
Shane
This was so well explained. Didn’t rush through the tricky bits and clarified a lot of things that I couldn’t understand on other streams. Awesome
Thanks Jim - very glad to hear that it worked for you. Have fun with it! Shane
I just found this video tutorial. Better late than never though. It’s a fantastic lesson, Thanks so much for taking time to create it.
Thx Shane, very motivating as always ❤
Thank you Matthias - my best to you! Shane.
Love it, sounds unreal. The strumming really makes it work.
Thank you Duo - hope you had fun with it!

InstaBlaster.
Nice work! I always play this on an electric but this sounds cool too. And great that you started with a run through first before breaking it into sections :).
Thank you Prog - I really like the acoustic version of this song.
Shane
Another great lesson...I thank you and greet you from Italy
Loved it Sir!! Thanks a lot!!
You are a very good teacher...beautiful Taylor as well
Thank you Juno - much appreciated. Glad you are here with us and I hope you're having fun with it. Cheers,
Shane
Guy has sick energy 👍
Great lesson Shane! Any chance you could cover Patience by GnR? Lots of individual strings picked out in that one that I can't quite figure out!
Thank you Crazy Canuck - very glad you enjoyed it! Great song suggestion for sure - it's definitely on the list - Cheers!
Shane
i want to play this so bad! but its so hard man.
I’m not sure if this question has been asked or not but what model is that Taylor?? Awesome video thank you!!
Anyone have tips on matching the tempo in the first couple of bars?
Play it by ear and don’t worry to much about playing the bass part with a cord it doesn’t change the sound much
👍🏻❤️💯
Thank you Jody - my best to you, Shane
Hey Shane,
What is the model of that guitar you are using? I see it's a Taylor but looking to purchase a Taylor or Martin soon!
Thanks!
Zach Brock It's a Taylor 814ce, £3500. 🤟
Could you show Deftones change in the house of flys?
Good suggestion Chris - thank you!
Shane
Late nights at thecampground this summer
Hi Adrian - Excellent - always fun!
Shane
How can I strum like that? It’s impossible.
I feel like my fingers are not long enough to play guitar.
I'll bet they're just fine Cynthia - it's all in how you hold your wrist to use whatever length you have in your fingers. Keep your thumb low. Cheers! Shane
Now that I've noticed his thumbnail, I can't un notice it.
Is that thumbs up or a thumbs down?
Note to self 3:32
9:49
my fingers are too small
Great lesson Shane! I'd appreciate it if you would check my cover songs on channel.
Will have a look Dylbob - thanks!
Shane
I don't want to sound like a jerk but if someone needs that down up down up bit they really need to try something less advanced. This isn't a beginners song
