Anxiety problems lie deep, hope the kid gets right.
I really think anxiety is over worrying. I do believe anxiety can be handled mentally without medication. You shouldn’t get prescribed a drug. For having problems
@@antigravity1669 You have to be careful with drugs and only use as a last resort, but the thing nobody who hasn’t gone through something like withdrawal will ever understand is these so-called emotions do not need a “reason” to occur. An extreme chemical imbalance can cause your fight-flight response to go as wild as if you were running from bullets, but people fortunate enough to not experience these things invariably dismiss or belittle them as if they are somehow less “real” because they are “in your head”. Of course it is easier to cope if you do not have an actual mental illness and/or have not experienced chemical-induced torture that you cannot just “think” your way out of… no more than you could think your way out of feeling the pain if your hand was forcibly held to a hot stove.

As an ex addict on benzos I know how hard it was to quit a 5 bar a day habit so I give him respect for staying clean.
you fine now? you had any withdrawal symptoms?
@@stevengerrard7610 5 bars a day? You best believe he did... i would never want to experience that
10 mgs a day?!?
No, no, NO to cold turkey from the benzos. That's where the danger is. Slow weaning is the only safe way.
i quit cold turkey a year ago
I can confirm that tapering down is very important
🎯 💯 👍 🔑 *pReCiSeLy.!*
I cold turkey'd off of 4mg a day. I couldnt walk a straight line, it was very awkward to talk, lost my job, I laid in bed for 3 weeks. Basic motor skills were very difficult to manage.
its not a lot of benzos though. Could just be supervised while withdrawing,. or do a fast reduction while its not a huge problem. Im coming from almost an 8 year reduction from benzos myself which was at 1 point over 100 xanax a day every day. Stopping instantly from that amount did land me in hospital and a resting heart at 185bpm. scarey stuff
Yup, I feel the same way bout yo momma. Can't just quit her cold turkey, dat ish will straight up murk a ninja!
As a person who is eight months sober from alcohol I completely understand his dilemma. The dude is so young and the fact that he is trying to better himself is amazing. Many prayers going up for that young dude and anyone else going through struggles with addiction. It's a rough road I dealt with my addiction for years. What's bad for me I was almost 39 when I finally decided I could not live life like this anymore. I was suicidal and knew that I was going to die from my addiction. I felt either it was finally going to shut my body down or I was going to end up taking my life to escape it. I'm just glad now that I am able to have a better life. It's out there if people really want it and also do everything in their power to work for it.
Just interested, how much did you drink per day? I was about the same age, and was drinking about 15 8% alcohol beers per day. Pretty serious stuff before I quit.
@@heroinmom153 i was drinking anywhere from 12 to 18 ice brewed tall boys. Not 8%, but close. I would start typically about 6 pm and stop at around 10 pm.
@@boondox270 Pretty much the same as me, but I was drinking much earlier in the day and even working before that. I'm glad you, and I, were able to realize there was a better life ahead.
@@boondox270 BTW, my screen name is a joke, I was never on heroin, and I'm not a mother, I'm a man, but alcohol was definitely a problem for me for a decade.
He's still so young and to be aware of his addictions and try and help others is admirable. He's 24 for fs. I wish him well
You can’t really be “not aware” with benzos. Its not like other addictions at all. Withdrawals are very very obvious and can start even when taking a break from a very low dose. I started experiencing “breakthrough” withdrawals from long term clonazepam. In was not binging or abusing, just taking the same very normal amount each day, and the tolerance effect ended up overpowering the normal therapeutic effect of the drug to the point I was having constant tremors and intolerable restless sensations (called akathesia). Then it only gets worse when you try to ween off and goes on for months. It feels like a cruel trap.

I was really bad on Xanax and I’m 4 years clean now. It started with the doctor prescribing me .5 Xanax and I got the feel of them so I took to the streets. I was taking upwards of 12 Xanax bars on a daily basis for 3 years sometimes more than 12. On top of alcohol. Did the exact same thing. Looked in the mirror one day and told myself if I keep going like this I’m going to die from an overdose laced Xanax or affects of cold turkey withdrawals. I begged my family to check me into rehab and they did. Thankfully because it saved me. After checking into rehab I was there for no more than 12hr before they took me to the hospital next door and put me on a 10/13 in the state of ga. Had a 24 he watch with nurses rotating shifts. Most dark times in my life but they lead me to where I’m at now. Clean 4 years, I have a beautiful girlfriend with our first child on the way great job and I couldn’t be happier. I wish I could speak to people that are suffering from addiction. Show them some videos that were taken of me while I was on them and when I was coming off them in the hospital. This drug almost took my life while I was on them and almost took my life coming off them. It’s a horrible addition and I hope and pray anyone suffering can get the help I did

I really commend Xan for speaking out about this. I myself have struggled and still do struggle with using weed too much to self medicate. Before you say "Weed? @Blue Patriot start researching chemical imbalances and how to introduce natural serotonin and essential chemical for your brain to function exercise, eating healthy etc is literaly one of the best cures, the thing is. if you are depressed, anxious etc it seems like an insurmountable task, some cant even get out of bed because they are tormented by their own brain and body.. but trust me dude nothing is permanent and if you take that first step forward into creating abetter life.. and have a good attitude about it.. you can accomplish anything dont ever tell yourself "i can't" if you find yourself repeating the same mistake over and over... try something different its as simple as process of elimination, and i believe that if you really really wanna change something about yourself, there are many ways to do it. good luck man

I use alcohol for my anxiety. I’m autistic so I have a lot of it haha. I’m on lexapro but that has caused me horrible weight gain, which I’m then depressed about so I use alcohol to numb the depression which also hasn’t helped with my weight/anxiety, so that’s a fun cycle.
Could you not just tell your doctor this and they will prescribe you different medication? I too am autistic so I can relate to how you feel, it's not fun
