Lil Xan Deserves His Failure

- Lil Xan was once in what seemed like an unlosable situation. Three apartments in LA, the most viewed music video on Lyrical Lemonade, and a booming social media presence. Over the last few years however, this has changed dramatically. It would appear as though he doesn't have $30,000 left to claim full ownership of his Mercedes Benz G Wagon, hinting at the rough seas he happens to be sailing through. However, if Lil Xan had simply made a few different decisions, his downfall might have been avoidable.
From Mac Miller, to Soundcloud rapping, to Lil Xan's victim complex, this is, Why Lil Xan's Career Died / Lil Xan Deserves His Failure.
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2 XO ❤

Well like T-Pain said rappers like him & the Soundcloud era rappers they were lead to believe as long as they kept rapping they would have infinite money to do dumb shit like this or worse (T-Pain bought a lambo and sold it in less than a day for 80% less than what he bought it for just because he could) since they would make it back in like a few months.
But like J. Cole said in 1985 they only blew up because of a trend and when their audience grew up they would fall off like Lil Pump, Lil Skies, Lil Xan, Smokepurpp, etc. Rappers who people liked when they were 14 - 16 but after they grew up and it wasn't a trend to idolize people like this they quickly became broke and irrelevant in the industry more so being punching bags every time it's was revealed how little units they sold & how no one was attending their shows.

There is something to be said about the negative effects of "suffering from early success" and not understanding or learning what it takes to actually be successful.
When I changed careers and started my first big boy "commercial B2B sales" job, through almost complete beginners luck and no effort, I landed several large sales that made me think I was awesome and my job was easy. Im a really hard working person but seeing success come easy gave me the false belief that I didn't really need to do much and I'd still be successful, and in that time I didn't learn the tools necessary to actually be successful.
Fast forward several months and it was a complete 180, I almost had to start over and it was extremely discouraging and stressful feeling like I was only getting worse, when I just hadn't been putting in the effort necessary to do my job. Thankfully I figured that out before it was too late

I'm not a T-Pain fan, but I think comparing his career to Lil Xan is a far reach and unfair. Not only did T-Pain have a few more hits, he has hit songs that he guested, collaborated or produced. You can tell T-Pain had a strong work ethic. Plus, not for nothing, 20 years since he first hit big and I still see T-Pain all over TV and stuff.
totally agreed. TPain is a popular twitch streamer too.
I agree, plus you can see outside of his music career he’s productive in other things like live streaming. He’s actually a great guy.
He's been on Bar Rescue too within the past 4 years or something lmao.
The biggest difference is that T-Pain is actually... you know. _Talented._ He's a genuinely skilled singer and songwriter.
I’m in shock that anyone on the planet would even think to make this comparison… LMFAO
I’m not sure what he expected? His style, music and even public persona seems like a one hit wonder, it’s already bad enough that he can’t even do the only job he has. You want to take a re-route from doing things like school or a career you better work because people forget you easily, and work very hard.
Glad to see these watered down "rappers" fade away
He wanted to be a professional photographer until his camera was stolen. Then he decided to take up music. That should tell you everything about whether he has a passion for music or not.
Another example is his reaction to Mac miller passing. If his inspiration disappears doesn’t mean you can’t continue. He laid off too many times so people got bored of him

I dropped out of school because of low grades but thankfully, I've been decently successful in every field job I've had. Fast food was the worst time I had but still climbed up the ladder rather quickly and now I'm currently managing 2 Smoke Shops and a wonrking on opening piercing studio. Never liked school but I've always liked making money 😅
Xan gives off the same vibe my druggie friends used to have back when we were young. Always in a perpetual state of intoxication. Which might explain why he doesn't go to the meetings with execs, probably too zonked to leave the couch. It might've affected his judgements with money too, on top of the stereotypical Soundcloud rapper lifestyle.

What drew his original fan base was his humble start off. Filming a song in his room, it was relatable. As soon as he got a taste of fame though, he turned pretty much into a narcissist acting like no one was better than him and he could say and do what he wanted. The drugs definitely played a major part in this, since it can cloud your judgement. Although he is still responsible for making those decisions to begin with. I understand withdrawals and how bad they are. Once you go clean its hard to get back into what you loved doing, I struggled with that for about a year. But its something you have to ride out. He's probably doing rehab and taking suboxone to get off the other drugs. From there its just tapering off of that slowly until you dont need it anymore. The irony in his song betrayed is palpable. He practically sang his downfall. Sad
Can't fully agree to this statement. Sure his drug addictions fueled part of his irresponsible behavior but the dude had shit grades and dropped out freshman year. That was before he became a rapper. Deserved in the sense that it was brought on by himself rather than he's a bad person who deserves what he got, drug addiction is a horrible thing and you can't always blame drug addicts for their behavior but its also not an excuse for it, that's why taking responsibility for the things you did is one of the biggest steps in recovery and also something he still seems to be struggling to do

Nah, I think Xan convinced himself he didn't _need_ to work hard or try. That line about quitting rapping to just 'be a celebrity' sings volumes about his actual understanding of the world or what he's doing. Celebrities don't just exist in a vacuum being wealthy. He literally threw it away… it’s what happens when someone who hasn’t already built a work ethic, is launched into a position that requires very strong/passionate one.-
I was in the studio with him and some other producers and artists after a show that he performed at and he showed no interest in listening to the beats and tracks that we we were showing to him, he was too worried about the girl he was with at the studio and that she wanted to leave, he left the studio to try to get her to stay and he ended up leaving and not coming back 🤦🏻♂️
Lol!
Bruh that's rude
I'm interested in beats
Bro look at him. A girl for a guy that looks like that is incredibly rare, it is literally his job to have people make beats for him he can get those anytime.
He sounds like a simp to me.
Damn it is so easy to see just how BLASTED he was on drugs during all of these appearances. It is honestly sort of sad. I don't feel too horrible for him because of all the crap he's done but as someone who had drug problems in the past, it is really easy to slip into it just so you can feel SOMETHING. There is just something exciting about doing some drug and sitting and waiting for it to kick in. Something to look forward to I guess. Even if it is just for one hour, two hours, three hours. It doesn't matter. It is something to look forward to which is why it is so common to see broken individuals fall into drugs. Nothing else to look forward to. Just create it yourself. Especially easy for kids who don't really have any other goals.
EDIT: Take it into DMs if you're gonna fight with someone over something so stupid.
EDIT: EDIT: Yes, we all know there aren't DMs on UA-cam, buddy. Luckily other forms of communication exist. ;D
His situation is a little different as he suffered from severe panic attacks from a young age to the point him and his mom claim it was debilitating.. this lead to the doc putting him on benzos which eventually ofc leads to a dependence and serious addiction. Imagine being on xans / Valium/ ativan to bandage ur anxiety as a kid to adult...

As a kid who fell into drugs at 14, I cant hate him. I probably acted similarly at times before cleaning up. Sadly, I don't know if he can change without failing first. I can only imagine how sick I would have become if my incredibly stupid and selfish behavior as a kid had been rewarded with millions of dollars.
Exactly.
It’s insane the effect a poor work ethic can have on a person’s life. He had enough money to retire immediately and couldn’t look past the instant gratification.
Drug consumption below the age of 18 can have life changing effects on your mind. This is why theres an age restriction on it.
this is what i wish other people would realize. not many people have compassion for people who are on drugs, but it's so important that we do. they need it more than anyone. i don't want to go too deep into it, but i understand what you're saying completely. and i can't hate him either. all i want is for him to get better and hopefully pursue something he actually loves - like photography. allegedly that was his initial passion, until his camera was stolen. so he became a rapper.
@@wwmhd yea, I've had really important people in my life tell me I just need to get over it, that I have no will power. And thats sadly how most people see it. They are very ignorant about how our brains and reward systems work and how addiction completely changes your wiring. Its a really hard problem to solve, because at a point it does become a disease and your brain is screaming at you constantly (even when you're asleep) to get drugs. But once you overcome the initial withdrawl and stuff, a lot needs to be done by the addict, and if the people around them try to do the work for them it will just end up restarting the cycle. Being homeless was the best thing that could of happened to me at that time. But I was a rare case, and I know plenty of people who just wont accept life without constant substance abuse. It's sad but at a point you need to cut ties, and hope that eventually they see the error in their ways.
I remember seeing a photo of Lil Xan for the first time and immediately thought he's some small time rapper who's always on drugs, hence the name. While he does make a point that sitting in class for about 7 hours a day and not retain some of that information, sitting through those classes would've helped him make more conscious decisions and take responsibility, which he didn't do at all. I can't really feel bad for him, his undoing was no one but his own fault.

Don’t blame him. Blame the media

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. 🙂
Yes
It's hard for me to look at a kid addicted to drugs and blame them for what happened. I grew up in a town riddled with drugs and when you're high time isn't a thing. Nothing matters but chasing the high. Only a few of us got out, cause it's so hard to do without a good support system. He just had people who wanted to take his money or use him once he broke into the music scene and honestly? It's sad. I've never heard his music but I genuinely hope he gets some help and turns his life around.
Drug addiction is absolutely the fault of the drug user. Personal responsibility is a thing, and doing drugs is a choice, no matter how you look at it.
So, the drug dealer tied him down and forced him to do them? Yes, addiction is hell but at some point, he chose to do them, so it is 100% his fault.
@@trivera801 if you're introduced to drugs before your prefrontal cortex is even fully developed, then no, it isn't your choice. Kids can't make fully informed decisions. You obviously know nothing about growing up poor in drug-riddled cities. Half the time it's parents introducing their kids to these substances. Without a proper support system, it's hard to break the cycle. If he had hurt someone, then he would need to take responsibility, but the only person he's hurting is himself and it's sad. In him I see myself and many other kids from the "bad areas" who nobody cared enough to help. It doesn't hurt to have empathy.
@@TheAciddragon069 Accountability is key. no one forced him to do drugs. No one made him tie his career to using illicit drugs. I feel bad that no one in his corner actually held him accountable. To push him forward to the next thing because all waves crash. So either start one or catch one. No one told him to invest in businesses or start some. I feel bad for drug addicts. I don’t feel to bad for rich drug addicts.

Dude is someone I both hate but also have a level of sympathy for. He wasted some huge opportunities, refuses to take accountability, and doesn't have much of a work ethic. But he also went from an uneducated kid who grew up in motels, struggling with addiction and poverty, to suddenly being surrounded by swarms of fans, media, and corrupt industry professionals. It was a very sudden, massive lifestyle change and the show business industry is known for mistreating/taking advantage of naive young artists. So many other people who've been in that position have opened up about how difficult it was. I'm sure that shit led to him leaning more on his addictions to cope. He's been hospitalized on a psychiatric hold but he's never personally opened up about his mental health or any trauma he likely faced growing up in the situation he did. Having said that..I think he needs to seriously work on himself, confront his flaws, and access the resources available to him to grow as a person. Not everyone in this country is lucky enough to be in a position, like he is, where they can get help.
Yeah, getting real help gets costly. That's the biggest thing I think people don't understand.

I can't help to feel a bit bad for him. He just seems like a kid with poor decision making skills to whom nobody really said no before. That doesn't mean that he shouldn't suffer the consequences of his actions though.
Those are the exactly the types of people who should suffer the consequences of their actions? That’s how real life affects everyone else, he’s no different.
If he's a good kid, he will take this opportunity to grow and become more responsible for his actions
The gist of why his career failed is because he doesn't work hard for it. What does that have to do with not having people tell you no? He had someone setting up meetings for him that he chose not to go to. That has nothing to do with having yes men.

Idk maybe im a bleeding heart, but i kinda empathize with the guy. It seems like he lacked guidance and direction from a young age and didnt have a responsible adult who cared enough to rear him properly. @@masterodisguise2983 Perhaps you shouldn't be looking at a lil Xan video as the example of youth today, as it is a tiny cross section. It is only feeding your confirmation bias. ....Here's something you may not realize. A famous philosopher once said to his friend "The youth of today have no respect for their elders and for society at large".
that was 2000 years ago.
whenever people get to a certain age, say 35,45, 50 or so, they often tend to look at the youth that replaced them and think that new generation is just so far gone.
When you look at the real data to understand these things, it actually shows that young people today are, on the whole, far more advanced than any other generations ever. Are they still cringey and dumb? Yes, often., but less so on the whole and...
...so were you. And so was I. We ALL were when we were young. We just tend to not remember it very well.
And you also have to look at your own confirmation bias.
Without even being aware of it, you will look at certain examples, like the one you talked about here, and you will make note of it because it fits your preconception
That's just conformation bias at work./
Why don't you look at what the local chess club is doing?
I'll bet none of them would behave in a way that you have noticed in your example here.
Why don't you start looking at examples of young people who are bright and not all about attention seeking or materialism, or whatever it is that you see as the problem with todays youth.
you are talking about all youth, and there is just as much variety in them than there ever was, including your generation./
The only difference is, they grew up in the information age.
So, that means that the smart ones KNOW how to use that to their advantage. And are going to be more mature than any prior generation ever could be.
To repeat, perhaps you shouldn't be looking at a lil Xan video as the example of youth today, as it is a tiny cross section. It is only feeding your confirmation bias.
A bias, by the way, that we all have. Once you are aware of it, you can be less and less beholden to it.
