Thank you very much for making this video and spending your time to give us your seasoned knowledge on these vehicles. This helps me pin point what testing I want to do to confirm what my customer needs. I believe in always treating them as good as possible and never wasting their money.
The list of my subscriptions always has a little dot next to the channel when there's a new video, so that works well enough to let me know that you've released a new video. It's really sad that youtube is pitting their algorithm against well-meaning content creators to extort money from them. They should be paying YOU more money, for taking the time to create all these videos that we love to watch.
I have the notification bell selected to all and I get all your Toyota videos. :) I watch another Toyota guy, former dealer tech also. He said he prefers to tell the customer a new short block is needed however I have not seen that for Priuses so maybe Prius is the exception and can be machined. It's almost like they knew the Prius block would have problems.. I wonder.

Yes that's right. It's called "the algorithm." It is a computer based a.i. analytics system which presents to what videos to watch. For examples, on the cover page. Or the video end suggestions. Facebook does a similar thing to censor and suppress information they don't want people to think is true. They only allow the brainwashing information to come first. And then mindless memes. Their video algorithm continually wants to push to me hateful content like people getting hurt or taken advantage of. I show the algorithm I shall not tolerate any of that and report plus ban the offending channel. Such things such as car accidents and bullying videos.
As if you providing free content (that's not close to free for you to produce) which brings viewers to their platform isn't payment enough already. I'm glad you are getting to the bottom of it Petr.
Hello Toyota Maintenance, when you are ordering headgasket kit from toyota do you change the head studs or reuse the originals? Does the head gets shaved or just checked for cracks. Im coming close to those miles and wanted to adress the headgasket issue, i had 2 service shops tell me 2 different things.

Mine is cylinder 2 miss fire looking from the engine live data But no fault codes. Only miss fire when engine is under low load once push harder accelerate no more miss fire. Coolant in the tank is in full level. Have already done spark plug fuel injector and coil Still the happening. Do you think this sounds headgasket to you?
@@abdullahkhokar9268 problem solved. It's blocked intake manifold. You Will need to take it out the intake manifold use decarbon and high pressure air to clean. If not clean the egr cooler.
I can see what you mean about not being able to stop the oil migration through that PVC system. The damn PVC valve is horizontal. Would work better vertical. There is no rise from the PVC valve to the throttle body I can see. Toyota messed up. I could mitigate the problem maybe all together. I would cut the PVC hose and install a Tee fitting pointing down. I would then install a hose as straight downward as possible long enough to reach from under the car. I would then plug the hose. This newly added hose will act as a trap. I would pull the plug to let the oil drain out when I change the oil and filter. I would also remove the side cover to inspect the PVC suction hole. I would shield it from oil slash. Many things I could possibly doo once I have seen the other side of the cover. If I were challenged to stop that oil migration I would do it. Shame on Toyota. Kaisen
UA-cam, like everything else, is motivated by their bottom line. The more you watch, the more they make on advertising. If you don't hold or keep the viewer on the site.... you slow fade away. If you are DrAmAtIc AND Talented, and draw in viewer, you get more attention. However helpful you may be, they do not care.

you can machine these blocks but it's best to just replace it as they are available NEW from toyota as these cars burn oil.

Peter do you ever put a oil catch can in the egr circuit to keep the oil out of the intake and catalytic?
How was the water pump? Did it need to be replaced? I believe it is the faulty wanter pump that causes that antifreeze leak into the cylinder head.

Peter, is it an idea to change the head gasket when ur mileage gets high, before it blows ?
At least this will save getting the head resurfaced !!

I am having same issue. Missifres when switch from battery to engine at low speed but at hard acceleration it goes away

What about using head gasket sealant instead of a $3,000-$5,000 head gasket replacement?
