For the last 4 months I've been skating the Andy Anderson Nano Cubits 54mm/93a and I love them. It took a little getting used to their offset design, but the nut protection they provide is nice... I mean, who dosen't want their nuts protected.
Oh man great review. I think you are reading my mind. This wheels look so smooth in that bowl and they're supposed great for street as well. I recently picked up an 8.75 with Indy 159 and was planning on picking up the dragons. Nevermind you've convinced me I just ordered a set of 55
Gotta say I appreciate your appreciation of us appreciating you appreciating us appreciating you. But yeah you deffo seem to have taken to those. Ive gotta try some cos Ive always had soft wheels so it would be really nice to have that lower traction. Ive been looking at decks and trucks (haha always having a browse). I would like to get the nano cubic 93 (they cover your axle nuts) but of course it means you gotta get narrower trucks to suit your preferences… or a wider deck 😀 or both, because collecting things are important.
Thanks dude. I think my coping isn’t quite as hard to get over as yours. From your video it looked like they stuck out a massive amount making it hard for the wheels to get over.
i have been saying that since summer 23 when i first tried some 58mm dragons to every skater that will listen. its the truth all skaters should have a set. i have nano cubics and x formula wheels too and love all of them
I have heard a lot of good things about these wheels. My friend has them on his setup and it definitely feels fast and smooth. He loves them too because they still have the ability to slide pretty easy.
@StevesSkateExplosion heck yeah man, it's bad...gotta drink alot of water. It affects me (drains me) more and more every year that goes by it takes my body longer to acclimate to the heat.
Same here. I was out around 3:30 a couple days ago and I could barely skate an hour without feeling woozy and dizzy. Not good for skating. Heck I can handle the 40s in January through March better.
Wow. Channel name change. Thought I was watching a secondary channel. lol I have a set of Dragons but mainly for crustier street skate spots. Nice pop to that ollie BTW!
Glad you found your perfect wheel! Wanted to give a heads-up on the Indy Mids. They are great trucks! I love them. However, the yokes (where the bushings sit) are larger and stick out more than other trucks. When doing rock-to-fakie, you have to be sure to lift the wheels over coping or they can hang-up. Just do a few reps on the low ramp first and you get used to the feel very quickly. Enjoy the new gear!
Dude it’s pretty wild how these wheels 🛞 just blew me away from the moment I skated them. Partially likely because I just came from using those crappy Rictas.
I just got Nano Cubics in 93a; I believe they are the same "formula" and, funny enough, I also got the Indy mids, but just 144. Hoping the wheels glide as smoothly as yours did. Great video!!!
Thanks dude. Those wheels are so great I had to force myself to quit skating yesterday. But now today is another opportunity to enjoy them. I almost bought those nano cubes but started with dragons. I’ll grab those next.
Dragon wheels live up to the hype. I have 54s and 56s. They make me want to skate more. Dragons do sacrifice some slide and aren't as predictable for reverts and powerslides as standard hardness wheels, but they are so SMOOTH without being gummy.
Welcome to the club! I recommend the nano cubic wheels next. Wider contact patch and they protect the axle nut. I didn’t think dragons could be improved until I tried nano cubics.
@@StevesSkateXplosion Steve I figured I should let you know I was wrong about the nano cubic having a wider riding surface. I compared them to my old dragons and it’s pretty close to the same width if not exactly the same. They do protect the axle nut though and the curved edge helps with curb tricks if you get into that kinda stuff.
Thanks dude, glad you connected with me. After these dragons I’ve got some spitfires to try and then after that I’ll grab some of those 97a you’re talking about.
Great vid! I think ur a great candidate to give ur two cents regardless of 2 years or less. I mean we are all on journey here in Skatopia Land, lol. I’ll have to try those for sure because to be honest I bought a Powell Peralta “Complete” with the standard white park wheels and Core Trucks, I want to say 99a, maybe. I’d like to try those with some Independent Trucks.
Lets gooo! Loving the content man! I got my 8.8 popsicle with 159 indys and a the formula 4s! Might have to give these a try! I feel so much sturdier on this board than my 8.25
@@StevesSkateXplosion yes! So far so good! Not sure if you’ve ever had this issue though… for some reason my wheels don’t always sit flat. I don’t have my trucks that tight at all but my trucks don’t always bounce back to level
I used to get that happening back when I first started skating and I’d come off my board a lot more. Used to get wheel bite too. Now that you mention it I haven’t had either one of those issues in quite some time. Maybe it’s a balance issue or something.
I appreciate what U appreciate times a 100, & hoping others appreciating this...I was looking for a set of new wheels & looked online at these this weekend.
I seem to have come into this interesting style of skating and talking and skating and talking again. Back and forth. Seems to keep the pace of the video moving nicely.
Nice one Steve! I have these in 54mm slim.. I would heartily agree with you. Infact I think they behave the worst on smooth concrete (find them a bit slow and grippy) so go try them on the tarmac (Asphalt?) that’s where they REALLY shine. Got those blue nano cubics aswell but I prefer these. The compound seems so right for everything doesn’t it??!
one area where dragon wheels really help is when you are skating a really slippery park. my local indoor park is super slick, I cant do spitfires out there without having slip outs. dragons fixes all that. also if you need a bit harder for whatever reason, go have a look at the x-formula. basically the same thing as dragons but with 97 or 99a durometer
Cool dude! Stoked to see softer wheels are rad too! And specially you early at the park. I am often feeling kind of a, or actually very slow minded in the mornigns when trying to do sports...I mean if very early just between 7 - 8:30 perhaps. Or you just take a gallon of hot coffee at home?
I mean I feel like that I am two minutes late of every action what my vision catches... this I had also as a kid... funny thing. If doing speedy stuff early in the mornigns
Dude I found that drinking coffee doesn’t work as well as just taking a caffeine pill in the morning. It wakes me without feeling anxious or jittery. 😬
Oh you’re only about 150 pounds. So yeah medium is good probably. I’m about 188 so I need harder I think. I’ve got them installed now so I’ll know more tomorrow.
Softer feeling wheels are where it's at for us "older" skaters, lol. I use both Dragons and Spitfire formula 4s in 97. I won't skate anything else. If I go back to hard wheels it feels like a car without shocks on a gravel road.
Mids with 55mm..? That sounds like way down in the wheelbite territory. Maybe you ride super tight trucks which might be okay..? That terrain you are riding is the opposite of what the dragons are for, btw. Something like the x97 or even the x99 would give you better speed and slide.
I appreciate the appreciation of these wheels.
I appreciate you watching.

Fantastic! You gotta tell me what you think once you’ve ridden them.
I appreciate you posting this great Video. Keep it going! 👍
one of the best skate youtubers out there. you make fun content
You’re so nice, thanks!
Awesome Steve! Definitely the best wheels available right now, game changers 🔥🤙🏻

It took me a long time to succumb to the pressure of buying these wheels, thinking I was a die hard spitfires skater.
👍 agreed...loving my 58mm dragons
Tomorrow I’m testing my new reynolds spitfires soft sliders - you ever skate those?
I have heard a lot of good things about these wheels. My friend has them on his setup and it definitely feels fast and smooth. He loves them too because they still have the ability to slide pretty easy.
That’s cool. I’ll be curious to see how they do over the next couple weeks. Thanks for checking in.
Those wheels are pretty legit. I put some of the green 64's on my surf skate, love em.
Whoa that’s pretty awesome!
I always put the Dragons on my set-up when I travel. They handle all different types of surfaces really well. 👌🏽✨
I’m not even sure I can ride another wheel at this point. I mean I can, but it won’t be like dragons! Do you recommend any other wheels?
Just got me some dragons too, and I'm really loving them as well. ..POSITIVE VIBES FROM SOUTHWEST GA 💪

Yeah sorry. I wasn’t totally liking the G73 part because it didn’t seem personal enough.
I got some 56mm Powell Nanos and they are nice. Board sounds like a dead piece of driftwood but I love the smoothness and grip too. Awesome.
Do you tighten your wheels to the point where they don’t spin much? Is that what makes the driftwood sound?

Nice. I just got some recently. I only had the chance to cruise around a bit, but they feel smooth and fast.
That’s cool. I need to go out again because I’m already starting to forget how incredible they were and it was just yesterday. 😆
You should try next bones 97a formula X. I am 46 and getting back slowly into skating ! Love your content! Cheers!

Love my 56 dragon too on old concrete 👍

Appreciate that dude. Maybe someday!
have yet to try the 93a dragons..still on ricta clouds 92a..shout out from Miri, Borneo Island

I knew you would like the dragon wheels 😁
I can’t go back to another wheel now! I’m forever changed. 😆
If you’re ripping Indy’s switch out the bushings with bones medium bushings. Another game changer!
Dude funny you should say that because I literally have hard bushings in my mailbox. 📬
Lol I’ve let tried the hard bushings I like the medium ones. Depends on how you like your trucks and maybe body weight might play a part. I’m 68kg.
