    I've discovered this myself in the past few weeks. I've been braver and going at higher speeds, pumping more, and it's really opened up the park for me. I'm now enjoying seeing how many obstacles I can incorporate into a single run.

      That’s the best. It’s like uncovering another layer of skate possibilities.

    That park looks like a lot of fun! I hear you on the warm-up, by the time I'm warmed up good, I'm toast. Great job on that last ride out, gotta love it when you get something that has eluded you for a while!

      It’s weird because I can feel my mind playing with whether I can do it or not. My eyes say it’s not possible and then my brain at the last second says EXPLODE.

    • @theaverageoldguy

      @@StevesSkateXplosion Yep, the mind is a terrible thing sometimes. I know on at least half of what I try, its my mind that holds me back. The other half is the physical or skill issues that practice will eventually resolve.

    Great video as always! I love how you are seeing multiple lines at these skateparks and in the bowls. Some bowls are designed a specifica way for a specific line, but a creative skater will always find new lines or other lines. It's a fun accomplishment to find a line no one else is doing.
    You are also learning to keep speed by pumping on the next closest transistion. You lose speed quickly if there is too much space between the next transition. Keep em coming Steve!

      I like the larger parks because it makes the reps longer like that. But then I also like the shorter reps as well. And the medium ones. Those are good. 😆

      Great point! Both size of skatepark or bowls have their benefits. Sometimes a simple bowl or halfpipe can challenge you in a whole new way. I love skateboarding!

    Sick homie. I used to live in Indy but never made it over to major Taylor. Not super into transition so I used to skate the DIY at Arsenal park. Turn 38 this month and I’m gonna go skate a manny pad tomorrow morning. Keep ripping.

    Nice park all to yourself. turned into a pump track. Do you feel the Dragons makes a difference in your speed. Your body movement or pump when approaching does bring you over the top . Anyway after working all last weekend I hope be back at the park this weekend

    Steve, if you get 58mm or 60mm wheels, your speed will increase even more. You will want riser pads though so you do not get wheel bite. On the Tactics website, they have a great chart for what size risers to use with what size wheels.

    • @StevesSkateXplosion
      @StevesSkateXplosion  10 днів тому +1

      I’ve got some 58mm OJs I think I’ll put on tonight and try tomorrow. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve used 58mm and I’m curious how much speed I can now get.

      Remember that some companies risers fit different on other companies trucks and will fall short on one end and stick out on the other end because of bolt hole placement. Like Venture and Thunder are different.

    To keep your speed going try to snake less and keep going as straight as u can because turning and shifting weight will slow you down.

    • @StevesSkateXplosion
      @StevesSkateXplosion  10 днів тому

      No kidding? I thought snaking kept it moving.

    • @theaverageoldguy
      @theaverageoldguy 9 днів тому

      @@StevesSkateXplosion Yea, with some good snaking you can actually generate speed. We used to push off one time and see who could ride the longest back in the day. Most of us could manage a mile or more before we gave out.
