- Hey everyone. The video I will be showing you guys today is a comparison between Atlanta Georgia versus Charlotte North Carolina. These two cities are the two of the bigger cites in the Southeast. I've lived in Charlotte most of my life and I have recently moved to Atlanta in the past year so I will also be giving my own opinion on both cities. Like this video and subscribe to my channel.
(I DO NOT OWN THE MUSIC IN VIDEO)
Do you guys want a “Dating Life In Charlotte “ video. Like this if so.
When you going to give us the video ? lol
Please lol
Yea where it’s at lol
Lol yeah I was dating a guy in Charlotte and found out he had a boyfriend 7 months into the relationship and guess what he’s a relationship coach here in Atlanta!
I can answer that. Charlotte is listed as 1 of the worst cities for singles
I’m from Atlanta and I be in Charlotte. Atlanta is more violent & more dangerous then Charlotte for one but Atlanta is a Big Money Making City. Charlotte is how Atlanta used to be 20 yrs ago but Charlotte is a great place to raise a family.
“Alot of people think theyre somebody and theyre nobody” perfect for atlanta my boy 😂😂😂
Correct!
Yessss
That's a very small portion of Atlanta. Most people in Atlanta are working class and present themselves as such.
He got a point
Depends on where you're from and how you grew up because I went to Atlanta and I looked right past that type of stuff. I guess us northeasterners are mentally stronger than some other regions.
I’ve been living in Atlanta for almost 14 years, and you are pretty spot on with your description 👌🏾
Well said. Ive been living in Charlotte for 8 years and I love it. thanks for sharing
Very informative. Thanks for sharing
Your best bet when moving to Atlanta is getting a home ! Mortgage rates are cheaper than Rent in Atlanta!
YaGirlRuby Very true!
that's everywhere.....but we all had to crawl before we walked👋👋👋
Not no more mines raised cuz they built a subdivision down the street 😒😒😒😒
@@boknows8376 those damn subdivisions 🤣🤣🤣

This is one of the best pro/con Atlanta /Charlotte videos I've seen in a while with no bias. If you're in the 'burbs of Atlanta it's great for raising a family.
So cool to find this video! Im from SMALL town Albemarle right outside of Charlotte. ✌❤
This was a good video giving perspective on CLT (and ATL)
I live in Charlotte but originally from NY and I love it. It's a great place to raise a family (can't speak on being single out here) and while the cost of a home is definitely going up it's affordable compared to other places in the US. If anyone needs a realtor out here I can help. We do need to work on entertainment because I don't think we have places that cater to us.
Idk why I trust your opinion over other UA-camrs...but I do. Great video sir 💕
This was so helpful. I’m visiting both places soon to make a decision and I’m laid back. Leaning towards Charlotte but not sure yet. Great video!
Welcome to Atlanta! You pretty much nailed it. Also thanks for mentioning Tech because Atlanta usually forgets we exist.
Thank you bro. Your video help me a lot. I’m in Florida now and I’m trying to decide between Georgia and North Carolina. You’ve been honest, I like that. Thanks again 😊
This was such a great video! It was very well detailed.
Just came to Charlotte from nyc on semester break it’s chill here
Native Charlotte here. Excellent content good brother!
Just moved from NJ to Steele creek NC loving it

That's a beautiful area.
I met a woman last year who was in between moving to Atlanta or moving to Charlotte! Great video!
That Pink Nurse Thank you!
Great video! Very informative.
Great video I am from South Africa as soon as this lock down is over I think I am definitely coming to Atlanta
We over populated
I enjoyed your video. I was leaning just toward Atl moving from Los Angeles but now I'm open to Charlotte
I lived in Atlanta for 10 years before moving and the one thing I noticed is that the very people who complained about Atlanta were often times the 1st ones to start the mess and the drama that came with living there. So if these people are dissatisfied with the ATL and are moving to Charlotte, chances are high that they're just going to bring that same kind of foolishness to Charlotte. So even though I considered moving to Charlotte at one point, I X'd that out as soon as I found out that this is where people were relocating to after living in Atlanta. For that reason, I want no parts of it.
Hey brother. Loved this. Love both of these cities. Could live in either. But.... due to things to do, I definitely choose TheA. Love that place. And it's also only 1 flight, 3 hours from my country. So it's definitely more convenient.
This video was great because I’m looking to relocate. These two were on my list. The only thing I wish you would’ve mentioned more about is the real estate.
Thanks you for your honesty
Charlotte is like Atlanta used to be before everyone moved there but it's slowly creeping up. A lot has changed in the 15 years that I lived here. Atlanta is my second home. But this is pretty on point we are in the middle of every where 3hrs from beach, mountains and Atlanta.
Atlanta is the Big Brother to all Southern states.
1. Truist is now headquarters in Charlotte
2. The median rent in Charlotte is $1,300
3.Actually the unemployment rate is better here in Charlotte than ATL
4. Ballenytine, South End, and University are popping but Charlotte-Mecklenburg is the white peoples ATL
5. The schools are better in Charlotte than ATL
Overall the review was on it...
You did an excellent comparison of the two. I have siblings in Charlotte and I lived in Fulton county before moving to Clayton county. Of the two, I'd still prefer Atlanta over Charlotte basically because of what you mentioned as one of the pros - it's a great place for entrepreneurs.
Even as a senior, I prefer to stay busy. I wouldn't enjoy senior living as much in Charlotte because as you said, there isn't as much to do.
Charlotte is a best kept secret for entrepreneur...if you have a great idea u can grow very quickly
It's quieter I live on 85 so I hear the cars put me to sleep every night the cars put me to sleep...
I've lived in Atlanta for over 10yrs moved from SC and haven't looked bck😅. I've also lived in Tampa, St. Paul, and Dallas. Atlanta is the new LA, no comparison. If you a frequent flyer Atlanta has the World Largest Airport with with direct flights in and out.
You didn't like South Carolina?
I'm in MPLS and looking too move to ATL or surrounding area.

@@Me-yc4gr aw, oh k ha..I grew up there..SC will always have my heart but, I know what you're saying😉 I've thought about moving to Atlanta before..but, now it's either Ft Lauderdale or back to SC

I'm looking to relocate there! Thanks for this comment. Looking for nice neighborhood with great schools for my daughter if you can recommend any.
Good key points bro!!
Lionheart 405 Appreciate it man.
Wow. Nice job on the video.
Awesome video! I think charlotte is the best move for me and my family it's not on the level of Atlanta but if I ever want to experience Atlantas pros it's only a few hours away
This video was great! Gave me good insight. I’m on the fence between Houston, Atlanta metro area, and Charolette. I have been to Atlanta several times and love it for the pros you gave. However, I have an 11 year old, not so sure about the environment for him. I have been to Charolette a couple of times (a good friend lives there), its cool. However, nothing jumped out at me as exciting. Haven’t been to Houston yet, but hear great things about it.
You will do your son justice ,if you were to ever move to Atlanta, to move to the suburbs. The suburbs are a lot less hustle and bustle, and more family oriented. And generally my rule of thumb is you will likely live a more family oriented life outside of the perimeter. (I-285 ring around the city and the suburbs closest to downtown.)
Houston would be a decent choice, but you may want to put Dallas on your radar as well. Especially because you have a daughter.
@@amariongabriele9354 Thank you
Gwinnett County in Atlanta has the best school system they rank pretty high against others outside the state of GA as well.
Charlotte beats Atlanta by a landslide for me! I've been living in CLT for 3 years, moved from STL. It was the perfect change I needed! If your a entrepreneur who isn't hung up on being insta famous, you can still make BANK here! I love it
Thanks for sharing. I'm from STL and I've been torn between Charlotte and ATL.
I’m from Atlanta but been all around the South. Any move is a good move coming from STL but Charlotte would have not been my 1st choice. Maybe Houston, Dallas, Miami then Atlanta still b4 Charlotte.
@@Nel5751one Houston is too humid for me and my natural hair! Also all those cities that you named traffic is tragic. My horses ain't built for that! 😆
Finding housing in Charlotte is a lil difficult due to the influx of new comers. But overall good move, its location is prime. 3 hr drive to ATLANTA, 1hr flight to Baltimore.
Bank capital got the Hornets, Panthers and double the population plus still growing and safer
I'm in Va but I need new scenery maybe Charlotte is for me. Thanks for the tips.
I live in Henry County, been here my whole life pretty much and everything you said about Atl is straight facts😂‼️ I’m looking at charlotte for my masters and life after college and I definitely needed this video
Great video!
Thank you from Pittsburgh !
Traffic is bad in Atlanta now , if you live on the outskirts of Atlanta like Riverdale, college park then Cost of living could be cheap . But if you living in the city it’s a good 1,200$ for a one bedroom . Atlanta is the capital! More jobs but don’t want to pay shit . Longer work hours and less money . Since Atlanta is in Ga they go by the right to fire law ! You could have a good job and be let go due to right to fire law.
Great video! Thanks for video! Great comparison. (Tho Rent is HIGH in Charlotte)
You did a good job breaking both cities down
Great video bro! I’m gonna have to visit the A again to really see how it feels and if I’m gonna move there over Charlotte bro cause I’ve grown to love it in CLT cause of the experiences and my siblings and mom lived there for almost 3 years now. How many days do you think I should visit ATL or times I should visit to really take in the culture and see how it would feel to live there? Cause I’ve been to CLT like 2 times every year for the past 3 years.
as someone from Charlotte who has family in Baltimore and Alabama the thing about location is 100% true
Nice video, they're both beautiful cities. Yes Charlotte is a lot more laid back but it can be slightly boring and less culture. Still a couple of fun spots. Atlanta traffic is horrible but I met a lot of interesting people, some wannabes too. Lol
Boi you miss huntersville, davidson, Cornelius, Concord, Harrisburg. All sounding cities outta skirts considered a part of charlotte closer than gastonia.
Im from the soufside of Atl but it’s getting dumb over populated and I been thinking about moving to Charlotte for the past year so thanks for the info
I live in Charlotte and I love it (originally from Pittsburgh PA)
,,,,no comparison, Charlotte is much more pleasant and much more easier to get around,,, in downtown Atlanta I couldn't find a single comfortable Starbucks to do some paper work...!
Which ones did u try?
Exactly!! Atlanta is confusing for no reason lol
Loved this video! I’m from Charlotte born and raised. I moved to Atlanta like 3 months ago and I do not like it lol. The driving is horrible, the people are super rude, and the houses that are 200k plus are not worth it.
Thanks for your honesty... im so confused
Rude in Atl? I have to respectfully disagree they are rude in Charlotte! Like disrespectful rude...

Actually suntrust moved. The headquarters for truist is in Charlotte.
Yeah they got bought out. Charlotte is the indisputable banking center of the South. I love Atlanta though.
Bingo
@@andydrew03 that’s y’all claim to fame 💀💀
I grew up in Charlotte (right in sugar creek and derita area) and lived there until I moved out of the country. I agree with the car part for the most part (total I lived there for 25 years) but recently, they have been making big moves with mass transit. They have a blue line now that goes through the main vein of the city to the UNCC campus. They are working on expanding that too which is awesome because the country I moved to has great mass transit so when I finally move back to Charlotte in May, I’m stoked to experience the new additions in train lines there. ☺️
The CMS system...lol yeah...they try hard some of them but damn say less about that education system. 😅
The CMS system is simply a landfill.
The teachers are underpaid so they have no motivation to look after the kids.
Yes family packing up moving to Charlotte soon !!
We full 🙅🏽♀️😂
Great job. I've lived in both. Moved from Marietta to Charlotte, would never move back. Parts of Charlotte are very walkable; Southend, Uptown, Plaza Midwood you can get around fine without a car, further out definitely not. The thing that makes Charlotte nicer to me is that almost everything is Uptown so the vibe is different and you don't have to drive to everything the way you do in Atlanta. You can walk from Bank of A stadium to Spectrum center to Truist field to most of the museums, bars and restaurants without leaving downtown. It's a choice though, I like being able to get around a lot easier so Charlotte for me.
Bingo.
Jackpot
I currently live in Houston 16 years now. For years I've considered Atlanta to be my next move if things in Houston don't work out for me anymore. But I visited Charlotte for the first time a few years ago and started reconsidering.
I’ve moved to Atl. 16 years ago and it used to be a beautiful place to live now it’s off the chain the crime is so high is unbelievable with the gangs. Also the cost of living has risen as well but if you move into a great area you’ll be okay
Cool Video. I think Charlotte is learning from the mistakes of Atlanta. The city seems laid out a lot better! Our infrastructure in Atl is trash! I`m from the North side of Atlanta and live ITP now..... Our crime has def increased when people started moving here. I say things changed in a MAJOR way in 2008. Welcome to the city!
Atlanta is also run down with shitty drivers. Worst schools with lots of problems. Atlanta has alot of subcities Norcross sucks rundown foresys county is better. Atlanta has entertaiment while charlotte also has but its mostly nascars college sports. Atlanta has good for business entertainment music scense while charlotte has more nature bank of America Oil and gas ⛽️ agriculture finance banking home to bank of America good restaurants casinos good shopping malls
Interesting people seem to think driving the Atlanta highways is amazing reading the comments. ua-cam.com/video/nqSNyYZnx2w/v-deo.html
Some places in Atlanta are also run down like Norcross Gwinett county Lil burn Decatur with old builidings and trash thrown all over the roadsides. Like a third world country
Private schools are better in Atlanta. Foresys county and Buck-head are upscale communities
Wasnt films like Baby drivers Ice cube Ride Alone and Kevin harts movie forget they made few years That Lawrence fish-burn selma Hayak Steven Baldwin
fled and Ice cube fist fight all shot in Atlanta so was Driving ms daisy. That martin Lawrence movie in 2008 with Michael clark Duncan earl Jones JR was all shot in Atlanta. Atlanta music sports and a bit of Hollywood scenes.
I moved to Charlotte from Philly and been here for a little over a year now. I can honestly say it's way different and slow but just the right pace for me. I'd say it was the best decision I ever made!!!💯🙌🏾
How come you think it’s the best decision. I’m thinking about moving from NY to start fresh.
Hey! Would love to know why you think it was the best decision. Congrats on the leap!
@@erickratley5456 I say it was the best decision for me, because I really needed a fresh start to rebuilding my life. Also Philadelphia crime rate is outrageous! They just had 499 homicides in 2020 so it's definitely a big deference from living here in Charlotte compared to living in Philadelphia. Also you can really make some really good money here if you look in the right places... Charlotte has pretty good public transportation of you need it
@@N_Quantum_Meruit Atlanta Does To It Called Marta
@@Jihad_davis1 Yeah, I'm quite familiar...but the difference is that your trains are MUCH older and are designated HEAVY rail which are designed more appropriately for longer commuters from neighboring counties and beyond. It's not really designed for intracity shorter commutes but it does work pretty well though I must say. I was down there last year doing some charity work in a neighborhood right next to a MARTA stop that was no longer being utilized. I actually cleaned it up and beautified the stop in order to prevent it from being an eyesore for passerby traffic on the street below. Charlotte's CATS network albeit is much smaller but also MUCH newer and the rail cars were produced within the last decade and more present. I believe that the MARTA rail line is 42 years old compared to CATS' 18 year old network and RAPIDLY expanding as we speak in order to accommodate Charlotte's ridiculous growth.
@@N_Quantum_Meruit But More People Are Moving To ATL Not Charlotte
My husband and I are a young couple raising a family we relocated to Atl from Ohio we lived in Ohio our whole life definitely wanted to do our own thing. The Truth as been told 👍
You are correct there is always something to do in Atlanta!
Man I been in Charlotte for. 13yrs ..u hit it on the head 1000 percent correct... Charlotte rent is more like 1,300 for a good area..never lived in Atlanta...
Yes, Charlotte is still trying to establish a culture and figure out what it wants to be known for. Good comparison.
I don’t recommend private schools for Charlotte just be an involved student and parent. My kids are all in college now and for a year in HS my girls went to a very expensive private school...the public schools offer way more opportunities at no extra cost, it’s just a matter of taking advantage of them.
Yea. That was a shocker for me. Entertainment and culture is kinda bleh. Since they’re making the Epicenter is becoming office spaces. All the nightlife is over in South End which is my neighborhood.
Great Job...

Both cities are very nice and new cities. Both have there negatives too. It all depends on what turns you on and how you fit in and economic wise you wanna get into. Both cities have tons of potential for what ever. Atlanta is more like a wannabe Los Angeles, and Charlotte is a wannabe Atlanta is more season city with much more things in many ways to offer. Charlotte while growing still has it training wheels on but its becoming to be an Elite city. While these places are getting their glory, watch out for cities and the state of Alabama. Their is a lot of growth and plans of so many things going on there. In the next few years Look Out , Their coming for everybody!...Trust me. Don't be fooled! or Underestimate!

All of those areas are great for families. All pretty close northern suburbs of Charlotte as well.
Atlanta was better in the 90s
Exactly i was going to say 25 yrs ago Atlanta was cool place.
Better before 2012/2013 before the big wave of ppl moved here.
Atlanta definitely needs to work on it’s Infrastructure! With that said, it kind of make sense that it has worst traffic crime as it’s twice the size of Charlotte. As for sub cities, pretty much every major metropolitan area is set up that way. Go to LA, SF, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Miami, DC, etc and they all have surrounding cities that make up a metropolitan area. When you get to cities this size, city limits are irrelevant outside of taxes. Most people say exactly where they are from if they are talking to someone within the metro, but traveling, they will just mention the principle city. If I said I lived in Allen, Texas, most people would think I live in small town that they never heard of. Technically yes, but it’s a suburb of Dallas.
Hell yeah I don't judge major cities by those imaginary invisible city limit lines either because it's all about the metro area. People always compare Charlotte to Atlanta saying Charlotte has more people but when you go to Atlanta it looks and feels way bigger than Charlotte.
