Thank you for posting the video! Very informative!
thank you so much for watching!
So much great information! I’ve never seen one of these videos that mentions soil, which is kind of important for the retirement/gardener lifestyle. Thank you!
I had you and others like you when I mentioned it :) I grew up on long island where we had 1' top soil and then sand. Clay can be challenging on unworked ground but I have many friends and family members with beautiful gardens and yards because they took the time to work it. Certainly rich, just different to work in :)
Great video. You covered so many topics and shared so many great tips. It was very useful! Thank you.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and commenting :) Let me know if you have other questions!
I live in Raleigh, and a lot of these apply to this area as well. We have very similar pros & cons that Charlotte has.
So true! I lived in Raleigh for about 6 years and loved it. Charlotte is just a big Raleigh lol. More neighborhoods (and takes a whole heck of a lot longer to drive all the way around it) but very similar ;)
Great video ! The sound and quality is great and you're fantastic on camera. Excited to watch you grow
THank you so much chicka! Funny enough, I just use my phone's built in mic! I haven't had to get a mic yet but I see it coming soon with more outdoor video coming :)
Thank you for the information. I'm also from New York city, actually from the Bronx. Only two train 🚆 station stops from Yankee Stadium. I currently live in North (coastal) Carolina, borderline South Carolina. I've been wanting to move to Charlotte, NC, for a while. Thank you ✨️. I am so grateful.
No kidding! Well give me a shout when you're ready to talk about a nice. I'd love to help a fellow nyer
@Angie give me s shout and we can make it happen 704.559.9169
I am a young attorney in Los Angeles, and I greatly want to make the move to NC, especially the Charlotte area. I am looking for a more family oriented place, with kind people and less superficiality. I hope I can make the move there in the next couple of years.
You will absolutely find that here. I can't from NY (another 'keeping up with the jones's kind of place) and I live it here. It's a place where I feel like everyone fits in. And from a personal and political standpoint, everyone's voices is heard. It's a pretty cool spot
❤❤
If you've made the transition I sincerely hope you're happy. But if you haven't- I fear you're not easily going to find what you're looking for in Charlotte. There are entire swaths of the city populated almost exclusively by old money families. We have severe geographic health disparities caused predominantly by racial and financial segregation. Even as a college student who grew up in NC the degree of superficiality in Charlotte blew my mind. Everyone here seems obsessed with entrepreneurship, side hustles, and a general "keeping up with the Jones'" consumerist mentality. There's also such an influx of new resources from New England and the west coast that I doubt you'd get too much acess to "family oriented" unless you very intentionally seek then out. Unless your definition of "family values" is a brewery where your kid can play corn hole while you drink 🤷🏻♀️
Excellent video!
thank you so much! and thanks for watching
Thank you so much 💚
Thank you!
thank you so much we are moving from Long Island NY ❤
Welcome! I grew up in Oceanside, and I will NEVER go back I love it here!
Give me a shout and I'd be happy to help you with the planning and finding the perfect spot! 704-559-9169
I’m from Canada and am looking to move to the U.S….taxes, cost of living, inflation, low wages and general ineptitude of our government are all starting to get really annoying….As a Canadian, the pros of this city really make me feel comfortable with the idea of Charlotte. Seems similar to the vibe I had where I grew up. Thanks for the upload, great content!
I've been watching what is going on in Canada from here and I do agree, it seems to be becoming challenging up there. I LOVE Charlotte (obviously), and I've also assisted others from Canada in their relocation here. Give me a shout if you want to dig in further and learn a bit more about the area and what the move looks like :) 704-559-9169
I used to live in Toronto from 1st grade to 7th grade. May I ask what the flip is going on over there? I always tell people if you don’t like the politics in your state and move to another one don’t vote the same no matter how uncomfortable it is. Ie: Cali ppl moving to TX
@deemunster so so true. Charlotte is pretty neutral which is very nice. A lot moving from AZ and NY too

Thanks for the wonderful detailed video. I am a Canadian trying to find a good place for my high school daughter at the same find something convenient for myself as I tend to fly often for work. I will reach out to you in the next few days. Thank you.
For those who fly for work this is certainly an ideal location. Halfway between NY and FL it's only a 1.5 hr flight either way. And You can get to the airport within 30 min from anywhere in Charlotte. I loved your video on Charlotte. I am debating between a move to Charlotte, NC or Nashville, TN. Does your agency have offices in Nashville also?
Hey there! I vote Charlotte all the way.. but i'm a little partial lol. I actually know some great agents I work with in Nashville, TN. So if you do go that route, let me know and I'd be happy to connect you!
Thank you for the great video. What about the IT sector in Charlotte? Are there many opportunities for software developers?
software and IT is pretty busy in Charlotte. I'm not in that sector but I have clients who are. It's a pretty happening place :)
By your explanation, the Charlotte would be one of the best place to move😍 In every part of the video l imagined myself there😊 thank you for this video that was useful🙏
I truly love it. Only other place I would ever move to is Melborne, FL... because I love to surf and I hate the cold. BUt it really doesn't get very cold here. I think we had maybe a handful days that I could wear my heavy wool coat, other than that it was sweaters.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!
great video, thanks. Something I do find not covered in some of these videos (not just yours) is healthcare. I have a history of cancer and would like to be in a city with good cancer care/healthcare. How are the medical facilities?
This is a great topic thank you for sharing this, I'll be sure to do a video on that. Charlotte is an excellent location for healthcare. I will add that depending upon your specific needs, there is also the option to go to Duke Hospitals which is even more specialized if you are needing that. It is 2 hours from Charlotte, but is an option. My husband has had some severe health issues and has been able to tag team between his doctors in Charlotte and those in Durham! BUT if you have cancer needs, there are some exceptional doctors and facilities. The Levine Cancer Institute is renowned. Here is their website!

Hello! Your video is great, appreciate you for all the info.
Question just wondering about the pets, I have two cats they are indoor as well outdoors, since many of properties are no fences/walls, is it a problem with neighbors if cats run out into their yards?
How big deal is if near the woods - predators, what predators are most common?
most don't mind cats coming in their yards, or dogs, but dogs pooping in their yards is def a no no. IN charlotte there aren't many predators. Occasional Coyote farther outside the city in the country but that's about it.
You can ski in the daytime. And goes swimming in the afternoon in the same day.
honestly... you actually could lol. May make that a new challenge of mine ;)

I’m thinking about moving to Charlotte from Long Island NY, we've been trying to buy a house for over a year here and it's just getting harder to land an offer. My cousin moved from Boston to Charlotte and keeps telling ne it will be a great move for us. I’m in the tech industry and my wife in business\logistics, and thinking about starting a family soon, hopefully job opportunities are ample for both us.
There is PLENTY of work here which is a wonderful thing. I moved from Long Island and I would NEVER go back. This has everything I love and none of what I don't about NY. You can always visit.
Give me a shout and let me show you what options you have available 704-559-9169
thank you!! will most definitely give you a shout, I’m going to make the move sooner rather than later, house market is acting up everywhere but on Long Island is just insane, no inventory and even with high rates there’re still A LOT of buyers, and for someone like me with no generational wealth it’s almost impossible to get into a house. We want to have our first baby next year and we’d love to have a house before that happens

Ma’am, with all due respect, I was born in NC and am 34, Charlotte has seen multiple tornadoes! Maybe not HUGE TORNADOES, but in fact Mecklenburg County has had tornadoes.
This is true and it has happened, but considering what most of the country considers a tornado, we don't have them. We have small ones that may lift off a roof, and few and far between. Unlike many of my viewers in the midwest who consider a tornado something that will flatten a town. I have seen 2 tornadoes in my 20 years in NC. Both were so minor they barely caused tree damage and lasted a few seconds ;) So this statement is more to ease the minds of those that see tornadoes as something devastating ;) Thank you for watching and for your comments!
I will still take Charlotte over 99.9% of most northeast cities and the Midwest as well.
dude... Facts! #ExNewYorker
Hi Lindsey, my fiancé are moving from Chicago. I was wondering what are the top places we should consider renting in and what are areas we should avoid. Based on your other videos South End and Noda seem like our front runners. Thanks
There are SO many great spots. It all comes down to the vibe you want and what you would like to spend monthly. Both of these locations are great for young professionals because by renting there you are walking distance to many things such as dining, bars, entertainment and night life. Both also give you access to the Light Rail. The downside is the price. You should expect to spend $1300+ on a studio apartment (in the newer apartment buildings). That being said, you also have the option to rent a home or apartment just outside these areas and still have easy access to them with a walk/bike ride/short drive. There are certainly locations around these 2 that might not float your boat so if you go outside those areas I'd say you'd probably want to look farther into the city vs outside of. I'd be happy to chat with you and find a bit more about what you're looking for and see if I can point you in the direction of other areas to consider :) 704-559-9169

How’s the allergens? And what’s a good area of town for a small family of 5? We live in TX in a suburban area right now.
Allergies aren't too bad. Worst time of year is spring for pollen. The rest of the year is moderate. I'd say north charlotte (Huntersville, Concord) also east charlotte or south charlotte. A lot of areas will depend on budget UT there are truly so many awesome areas and all close to one another (longest drive is from north to south and its 35 min)
Is Hickory NC a nice town? It looks like there are some good deals there still. I am interested in your opinion?
I'm not a huge fan of Hickory, it is a bit of a pass through city, a bit more transient. While it is populated, it is not quite as homey feeling as areas like Denver, Lincolnton, Troutman, Mooresville. I would even recommend Statesville
Kudos ftom Canada.
Do you have some good shooting ranges there ? 😅
I am dying from taxes and Liberalism up here in Montreal. Tnx for great explanation.
haha I feel you there I have friends up there and they are DONE. Yes we have some great outdoor and indoor ranges. There are several long range shooting ranges in various areas. We also have some great club style shooting ranges indoors. My favorite is Blackstone Shooting Range. They allow ANY gun (I've seen some beasts of guns in there) and even have a membership where you are VIP and can walk right in and right onto the range without check in, dedicated lanes, a hang out area and more. I LOVE it. We were VIP for a long time, but I didn't get there enough. Check them out it's awesome and give me a call when you're ready for some Libertarianism ;)

Wow just wow. Must be one of the best kept secrets in the Southeast! Also, I lived in Phoenix where they basically lie about day trips, why do I say that? The jobs pay very little and you can't afford them! I hope that isn't an issue there.
I will say day trips here are legit! I've taken so many awesome weekend or day trips in the area and LOVE IT!!!
Can we talk about how most of the houses don’t have fences???? Like I’ve never seen a city with so many homes with no fences? Not even on the higher end?
I'm guessing you are from NY or Cali or AZ? I get that comment a lot. Many people dont' like fences and some communities don't permit them (or only permit a certain style like black rail fences). BUT there are plenty of communities that do allow them. I have 4 dogs so having a fence is necessary for me :)
Hi Lindsey, great video. Just want to check if USD 73k annual salary will be sufficient to live in Charlotte with a non working wife and 2 years old daughter.
I would say it certainly would be, but it would depend on where you live. There are a variety of areas just outside Charlotte that offer mor options for housing in smaller budgets. But I would absolutely say Charlotte has what you need

What are best areas for good public schools?
There are many. Some in the city and many in the suburbs. The areas of higher affluence have the better schools however there are some areas in Harrisburgh, Concord, Davidson, Fort Mill and many others that have good schools. The challenge is not all schools K-12 are equal in their ratings. Could have great elementary and not as good HS rating. It all depends on the area. In addition. The Equity of an area also affects the school scoring so if there are more families of low financial aptitude the school rating is lower. I'd be happy to help you find the right area to meet your needs in schools and a home
Why was transportation listed as a con when you mentioned Charlotte has a trolley and train system and making major strides to keep up the needs
She a New Yorker! Never had a car until she move to Charlotte! It best she go back to her liberals view state! We in the south getting tired of these blue state supporters moving here! But couldn't fixed the problem they created in New York
@Eric carter you are aware NC is more a blue state then red your right its not liberal viewed as New York but NC is a swing state leaning towards liberal thinking isn't your own governor Democrat I'm in Florida now here it's conservative Ron DeSantis is our governor
great question! while it isnt horrible, there are still several areas of he city with really bad congestion. Because Charlotte is a driving city, few use the mass transportation (and the areas serviced are restrictive) so unless roads are expanded (difficult in some of the more congested areas which are in the older neighborhoods and have high concentration of residential living) there wont be many changes. Traffic is less going and coming from outside the city than moving about in the areas between I77, 74, 277 an 485 (the lower V of Charlotte)
@@ericcarter2020 why is accessible, safe, and convenient public transportation such a bad thing to conservatives?
Have home proces started to decline in charlotte and if so on average, how much so far?
Prices have not declined in Charlotte, but we have seen homes selling for less than list price. Mostly because sellers are listing their homes for far more that they should wishing the market was still like it was in 2021 lol. But on average the market is still increasing by an average of 6% over the year. Not as noticeable because we had 2 years back to back of 20% increase year over year, but due to the amount of people moving to the area and still having a shortage of homes (not enough to meet demand) we are still seeing as many homes selling week over week as being listed week over week. It is projected that these prices will continue to consistently increase year over year. As we see (hopefully) rates drop in April/May 2023, we will see more buyers.... more buyers increases demand which further pushes prices up. So yes, buying sooner than later and just refinancing when rates drop is a great option. We will not see a 2008 happen, there will be no market drop out because of the way in which this "housing boom" came about (heavy demand due to low rates vs heavy demand due to 'Adjustable Rates' that were all called in and collapsed). Hope this helps!
@@livingincharlottenorthcarolina thank you for the in depth response. On average how much under list price are the pricing the property?
@@Shishio28 Some that I have seen are selling for about $10,000 under if they have been sitting a little bit. Personally instead of offering less for price I encourage my buyers to ask for seller paid closing costs. Being the home will appraise for list price (I check before advising this) the buyer can get the home AND get up to 3% of the purchase price back in CASH at closing paid by the seller. This can help pay your closing costs down and/or help you with any updates you may want to make to the house immediately. VS paying a little less now and only altering your mortgage payments by a few bucks a month. Strategy is def back in play in this market (Vs selling your left kidney to get a house like 2020 and 2021)
All I can say is that you are pretty. That's all
Well thank you

I've lived in a lot of places and this is the most friendly of all the places I've been. You can find racism anywhere if you're looking for it. That is sadly human nature (having bad apples), but Charlotte is a huge melting pot and everyone is very nice to each other. Waving and saying hi walking past someone on the street is common

wow 160 languages? I would say I wouldn't be surprised. Any ethnicity or language I've run into in NYC I also hear and see here in Charlotte

depends where you are comparing too. We are below the US average, but WAYYYYYY below California where it seems a 1 bedroom is well over $500k. lol We are affordable but competitive. Hope that helps!

How safe would you say the city is especially downtown, uptown and UNC area?
Uptown charlotte (unlike NY we just have an Uptown no downtown lol) is very safe. There is one area on the outskirts of the city on the north side that was not the greatest a few years ago but it has been cleaned up. Honestly its a super safe city. UNC area is great! I actually live in this area and I have some neighbors that don't even lock their doors. The area between University and Noda does have some not so great spots but that's like any city. I can certainly guide you but I would also take a look at the police crime site to tell you what areas might not be as great. there are only a few not great areas in Charlotte. they are truly very limited

Honestly most people I know don't even go downtown anymore. Most go to other areas around. This is a problem in most cities sadly :/
I thought EVERYONE was equally as nice as Charlotians
i can agree with that
Your youtube channel is great but the fact I can't even look at homes on your website without clicking a million questions and providing an e-mail address is super off putting
Thank you for letting me know. We are trying a new system to better help those searching find the right home. I'd be happy to help you personally and send you some homes that might meet your needs. Would that be of help? Please feel free to call or text 704.559.9169
Does that lake have alligators?😅
Apparently not on her reply to another comment. Those are mostly on the coast
Funny enough I've been getting this question a lot. Nope we do not have Alligators in NC except a handful in Wilmington (on the coast) :)
Charlotte NC is definitely diverse. It's a melting pot almost similarly to NYC where I'm from.
Demographic wise, Charlotte is
White/European American: 40%
Black/African American: 34%
Native American: 0.1%
Asian: 7%
Pacific Islander: 0.1%
Two or more Races: 4%
Hispanic/Latino: 15%
absolutely Diverse
How dare you leave Carowinds off the list of outdoor activities 😂
bahahahhah OMG you're right! I legit forget about it sometimes haha. I was scared by a crazy fluke wind storm that hit while I was 3 stories in the air in a swim suit hahahah
ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GOOD TOWNHOMES OR APARTMENTS OR OTHER RENTALS NEAR MAYBE PLAZA MIDWOOD OR OTHER WALKABLE AREAS / CLOSE ENOUGH DISTANCE TO BE ABLE TO BIKE TO MORE ACTION? I AM AFRAID OF COCKROACHES
Sadly I don't work with rentals, Charlotte doesn't operate like other cities in that rentals don't really work with realtors unfortunately. BUT I do know there are several in all of the walkable areas. But the closer to them you are the more expensive it will be
@@livingincharlottenorthcarolina Got it, sorry for the all caps, I was hoping to get your attention. There are not too many resources about the area, if you know of any, 'heard good things about' for specific buildings, near say plaza midwood or access walkability to the trailsystem that would help me out for when I visit for a potential move. I have a remote job based in charlotte and am considering moving there (while also trying to be open minded to alternatives.) A lot of info out there I see labels charlotte as boring, but it seems to be up-and coming and has a ton of green spaces and biking/walking within the city. Thanks for the info! I lived in Denver CO for a good bit, and it seems like Denver maybe 10 years ago, which is hard to find out there.
What are some investing ideas?
HI there so sorry I missed this comment. There are several areas great for investing but it depends on what you want such as: Families, Air BNB or Luxury. We also have a high demand for Mid-Term rentals like corporate housing. If you want to deep dive I'd be happy to hop on a call :) 704-559-9169
Yes 10-12 years ago. Now NO...
Why do you think so?🤔
Way more Cons than pros. It's getting worse every day.
ehh from a Cons standpoint, they are pretty mild
@@livingincharlottenorthcarolinawhat’s mild about the Cons cause I’m here now ready to move
I'm going to guess that you are an Aries.
CLOSE Picies ... how'd you guess?
Oh my goodness... this video is toooo long and dragged out -- I'm falling asleep. Way to long😮
