- Roger Wilco, the galaxies most well known janitor, has been locked away by Activision. They hold the rights to the Space Quest franchise, and Rogers soul. It's up to the Two Guys from Andromeda to save Roger, and make the long awaited Space Quest 7!

I started working on this short when I heard the Two Guys from Andromeda (Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe) were back with a Kickstarter to make a new Space Adventure game. I was saddened a bit when I learned that Activision does in fact own the rights to the Space Quest series. If the Two Guys ever get Space Quest back, this is how it will happen.

This is my favourite Bowz cartoon! It makes me sad that it's got millions less views than the other videos by Bowz. It just proves that the general youtube audience 1. don't subscribe or if they do, don't use subscriptions and 2. only watch things if it's based on a popular/current game. :(

I never played a game of this, but the meaning of this video is awesome, and the animation and love for the clasic adventure games is just great.

It's that 16 color EGA, there was a charm in how much the old games squeezed out of their own limitations.

Man, you're right, though... Ever since Sierra took a dump (I always feel extremely nostalgic when I think back of those times), things just went down the drain for the entire gaming industry.

I don't know whether to cheer or cry with joy first. The Space Quest games were my favourite series growing up and you have captured every aspect of them so perfectly... thank you. Thank you so much for making this, I can't put anything else into words for just how incredible this is.
Yeah, there are some colors that were not part of the original EGA 16. The old games also used a dithering effect to create the illusion of more colors. I just added the extra color where dithering would be needed (since the pixel plugin for flash didn't let me dither) A lot of the sprites were traced over the in game sprites.
This is what space venture should have been.
The 2 guys busting out astro chicken was a great touch.

Oh, wow, the Space Quest games. I loved playing them as a kid, even though my english back then was pretty poot. I had more than one nostalgic moment when I watched this vid :)
And Activision has the SQ rights?!? DAMNIT! They ARE soulless! They and EA.

I'm not sure exactly, it was roughly 10 weeks nights and weekends. I can only work on my stuff at night, because I have a day job.

I used a pixel plugin for flash.. It's called "Pixel tools". I wanted to start this earlier, but didn't have time until July.

This brought me a smile, but it's also sad that the the Space Quest series is on ice.
I don't expect the game to be done in the extremely awesome 3D engines if it's evolved, I expect the game to have those challenging quirks and absurd humor that was at the core of every version of the game.

Yes, it was more time consuming than I anticipated. I'm using a pixel tool plugin for Flash that makes things a bit easier.

I love this. SQ3 was my first adventure game, and my favorite.
