A Greatly Exaggerated Tale of Adventure (Space Quest 4 Metal Medley)

- A metal medley cover of various themes from one of my most favourite games ever, Space Quest IV. I entered it into the monthly Dwelling of Duels video game remix competition for Sci-Fi month in March 2008. It won 4th place. Still a fun tune to listen to.

This is effing excellent, Brandon! Way to take Mark Crowe's theme up into the Metal Chronostream! It truly kick's ass. I love it! -Scott
Who knew the music I'd done so long ago would be a metal cover?!?
This is one of the most awesome things I've ever heard! Now I have to change my trousers!
You're amazing, Thank-you.
"We're glad you could play SQIV. As usual, you've been a real pantload"
Scott, thank you for the kind words. It means a lot! I'm glad I could repay a little bit of enjoyment for you for all the years of laughter and happiness you Guys gave me with the Space Quest series! Looking forward to SpaceVenture!! :)
This. is. incredible.
Oh my god. This is absolutely fantastic. This has been my favorite game for over 31 years. I could whistle or sing this soundtrack from start to finish with no trouble at all. Space Quest 4 is legendary. Your cover is brilliant! Great work and thank you!
Thank you! It's my personal favourite as well! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I can confirm this is in fact, Mr. Ken Allen himself. Good job. I'm sure this took a while.
You are so brilliantly talented, Brandon! Looking forward to your music with the Coles!
Yeah, you can get it from the DoD contest page where I entered it as well. The link is included in the video description.
You are too kind, Ken. Glad you enjoyed it. :) Thank you for creating such a great score to begin with.
Wow, way to go on this cover! Even Scott and Ken commented on it!

WHY THE FUCK DID THIS WIN 4TH PLACE!?! What could have possibly beaten this! Dude, this is frickin' amazing. Thank God people still know about Space Quest. I thought everyone just knew about that Angry Birds shit.
Wow. This is amazing! SQ were my favourite games growing up, esp SQ4!
So amazing, very well done Time Jockey.
This is really awesome! I'm a big fan of Ken Allen's stuff, so this was great to hear.

This rocks!!! wow
@optiozone Amen!
Fourth place? Are they out of their effing minds?? That was awesome. I hoped for some more stuff from the galactic space mall (like a bridge with some reggae from the burger place, but this was just awesome.
@mrkenallen We still love you, ken :). Any chance you'll be working with mark and Scott on the new spaceventure? I have to say that one of the key elements of sq4 and one of the reasons I love it so much is the music-- the variety of styles, the placent-- it was just genius.
my favorite part is at 1:12 to 2:10
I want your music in the game
If I may ask something I've been wondering since I first found this video... How come you didn't include the music that plays over the credits? Is it cause someone else already did a metal mix of the main theme? (If they did, I'd love a link.) Otherwise... Do you think you could still make one? I mean, just listen to it...

I didn't include it because I felt that it didn't need it. It's a pretty loaded medley as it is. I thought it ended well after the ending sequence theme. I do want to do the credits theme (main SQ theme, really), though. Hopefully sooner than later...
Loaded? What's that mean?
Guess I'm biased though... I started the series with SQ2, so the credits of 4 was the first time I heard the full main theme. Truth is, I'm probably looking for a marching band cover more than a metal cover anyway...
EDIT: well, well, well...

Loaded. As in full. SQ2 had the theme in it, though.
It did, but a different, slower, more sad version. The SQ4 Credits is a more direct translation of the original SQ1 theme.
