It's kinda amusing how this game had such a range of sound options back in the day. You could have a single channel PC speaker or a synthetic MT-32 orchestra for this game all the while with classic 4-bit colors and the "Sierra Sunburn" as I call it.
You forgot to add the death of falling off the conveyer belt. The message before the death message is different from the message after falling off the rail.
@ALHighlander2007 yeah there's a Tie Fighter from Star Wars, the Jupiter 2 from Lost in Space, and there's one of the repair pods from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Are there any other classic ships from sci-fi in the garbage ship?
I think Corran Horn is talking about forgetting to activate the shields before flying out and leaving the freighter near the beginning of the game. What part of Space Quest 1 requires you to shoot a wall? (late reply I know :D)
Sierra fans, if you could choose ANY 3 VGA remakes of classic Sierra games, what would they be? Please vote in AGDI's poll! (Maybe Space Quest 3 perhaps?) Link wouldn't go through so check out himalayastudios on twitter the link is listed several times.
Thank you for pointing it out, but I unfortunately lost the CD for the game and I can't play it without. I may find it later but in the meantime, if anyone has the CD and can check this death out and post it as a video response, I'd appreciate it.
Screw Dark Souls games,THESE are truly merciless to players
Where's the MT-32 version? These sounds sound horrible to me! >.
Great video! As usual, you've been a real hoot 😂
And I thought that in playing this game, in every possible way, I had died. I was wrong.

This was the only Spacequest I ever played, but it was awesome! And in a strange way you were rewarded for dying.
Exactly!!
I liked that monkey island parodied the whole sierra game dying thing with that rubber tree thing
NOT A PRETTY SIGHT XD

I don't remember THAT one... 🐀🚶🏼♂️🐀
Ironic that the window bars(You know, that gray thing) tend to be funnier than the actual message.

Love your channel, is the midi version of the space quest 3 ways to die video gone for good?
@capthorn2 That's Space Quest 1. You go anywhere without shooting in Space Quest 3.

Methinks that this was where a few of the death pics for the VGA remake of Space Quest I came from. Either that, or vice versa.
I don't do abandonware, it seems wrong to me. However, I found the CD and can now do the video. It'll be up real soon.
Love this game!!🕹😍
What about using light speed in the ship? Does that have any special results?
space quest 3 had the best deaths
@Shavarnarak Pretty much! I love having the original copies but I agree entirely.
I can't find the death video with the MT-32 music. Does anyone know what happened to it?
Jtd786 (now Jafar) privated all the old videos and their channel is now focused in music.
DOSBox, I think it may be a glitch in my computer though, the sound and video cards had been replaced shortly after I recieved it.

Nope. That just gets you to your destination faster than any other mode.

why is the sound set to beeper instead of AdLib or roland Mt32
5:09 Those pods might been Half-Life 2's inspiration for those creatures that would pull in their unexpected victim for consumption.
look-alike is not the right term since it implies that the design for Wall-E existed prior to this game...
Never heard of it. I'll try it.
Wait, where's the part where you forgot to shoot the wall before flying out?!
this is the one i remember most!!!!!!!!!!!!! roger wilco yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Because I can't get eitehr Adlib or Roland Mt32 to record. I'll only get the picture, not audio.

Why is the picture on the death screen with the Slime Devil a picture of Roger when he was alive?
who knows?
It could of been because the developer ran out of ideas for a still shot for the death and decided to use a sprite of Roger standing there.
Some death images are quite gory... O_o
and the second isn't? O_O
Why apologize for not adding music?
All my previous videos had music added. This was the first one I ever posted without added music.
Just seemed a lot like one
0:10... EMO!!
2:30 Oh Crap!
anyone know where to find some really brutal old video game deaths?
It's 12 years later lol, but Waxworks is probably the goriest old game I've ever seen
mmmm, pod chow
Sorry kids. THIS IS NOT A GAME FOR YOU!!!
5:05... was that a Barnacle from Half-Life?
Animeking194 No. Definitely look like one, though.
looks more like rob
half-life was made after this game...

Fortunately, it didn't hit anything importat! lol!
hits "it's" mark? Oh no Sierra. Come on with that grammar.
No, it didn't work.
