@@tarynestrada3760 I think it's because if family is trading among family and friends, then you'd more likely than not have the original photo file to work with and attach to a chat or email. I do still run into chat forums where you need a URL to share images or video, some have file size limits, but even Twitter or FB I can just save an image and insert directly to my post. So while it's a bit extreme, knowing the rules in different sites on sharing images and how easy it usually is, does make me question how someone decides to use a third party storage/link generator, but it's not completely unbelievable. Also, many dating sites or like instagram I believe you can't just save photos, so that explains a lot of selfies he noted. I think his bringing it up in it's extremes just notes that URL generating usually comes with a level of anonymity back to you, you not having direct permission to the image to just save it, but also concealment of what you're sharing without someone clicking the link, that we don't usually try for when it's for instance parents and family just showing how cute the baby was dressed up today. It's an unfortunate thought, but I don't think he's just trying to build up something implausible for views.
I was curious and went on and tried to find some interesting pictures myself. Ended up finding a very young girl in a very sexual position with very little on. 1:34 "you thought you were flexing by pausing and trying up the url i put on screen, but it turns out the real flex was me creating this text just for that specific URL lmao"
This seems like a case of people not understanding that the URL is not a private cloud that the photos are being saved to. So many people are just really ignorant about internet security.
Light shot is literally so useless?? It’s super easy to take screenshots on your computer or phone, so why would you download an app like that? I feel like it would be super obvious that anything they screenshot would be easily leaked like this
Owl Animations many people don’t like storing screenshots on their computer so they upload it to a separate service instead. I don’t get it either, but some people do that.
Just press the print screen button and paste it in MS Paint. Literally so easy lol. Why would people not want to store screenshots on your own pc? And if you don't want to keep it you can very well delete it and then delete again from the recycle bin, as easy as that.
h e l p You can use the snipping tool if you have windows. it’s the same thing but easier and probably better than doing all those steps with the print screen and pasting on paint
@@Carbine64 I agree, I don't get it either. I just assumed people were using it for the actual public link to share. Rather than sending it out in messages, etc. If it was just for storage, wouldn't you just use a cloud account that's more private (obviously not entirely secured but still far better than this)? At this point, most of these things have been added to your actual devices.
History Of Us windows also has the a three button command (ctrl+windows+s i think) to take a screenshot of a particular area. most people just dont bother learning about the system
@@AtlaniBonita Oh gawd no. It shouldn't. But it does happen. Even your phone and computers do it. . As creepy as that is. Lets also not forget social media and web sellers especially collect data and info on people. Its especially bad that most people don't even know this happens. Be careful what you do with your information online people!
‘Steals’ bitch you give it away 😂😂 no one is forcing you to use the Internet, my boyfriend has been using flip phones for years and he’s only 19, you choose to allow this don’t act all offended
That still doesn't make the fact that it does happen any less crappy. There's a lot of ignorant people on this earth. I'd say that most people know of their info being stolen. But none of them realize how often it happens. They're (the USA) now trying to pass a bill that allows PM's/DM's as well as other private conversations to be monitored as well. They are taking info left and right and it's honestly quite absurd. In my personal opinion it's getting out of hand.
I feel like the baby thing isn't that weird. Like it could be a family friend or something. Janice could screenshot it and send it to her 20 year old daughter and be like "look how old Tiffany's baby is getting she's so precious."
Regarding the Rolex... I don't get rich people either. I work in a highroller gambling business and rich people are bored and self-absorbed enough to in 1 night gamble away a 'normal' person's entire house, retirement, tuition without blinking an eye out of sheer boredom and lack of creativity. It's pathetic. They have all this possibility to make the world just a little bit better and occupy themselves with fun things at the same time. And instead they sit at a blackjack table passing time wasting money on their irreparably broken ego. You could be out in the world meeting people, seeing if you can make a handful deserving people's lives easier for that same money and feel good about yourself. But no.
It's really not that weird screenshoting babies or kids, I do that a lot with Snapchat pics of my niece and nephew or other things like that just to have them all in the same place (I'm aware that my photos aren't available here because I'm not using lightshot but others may not get that). Yes, there are creepy people but that doesn't make it weird to do anything that creeps do. Actually, I'm now realizing how many random children screenshots I have as well for thing like hairstyle ideas, outfits, activity ideas that sometimes have the kids in the picture doing the activity. If I were to say "I screenshot random children I don't know," that'd definitely be weird but for teachers, parents, aunts, uncle's, etc., not really that strange.
Lightshot Employee 1: "This app should upload people's screenshots directly to the internet." LS Employee 2: "Don't you think we should ask the user every time the take a screenshot if they want to display the image publicly before we do that? Plus I sure our customers will agree that sacrificing security it totally worth the convenience. It's not like they can sue us anyway, right?."

The one with money and playing roulette seems to be coming up over and over and from that I could assume it's a fake and maybe a bait that could be potentially harmful to anyone who thinks is so smart and will look through these logs and try to use that information.
This is called an enumeration attack, and I've found posts about this from back in 2018. I checked it and it still works. I have not found any statement from lightshot regarding this vulnerability. All it's going to take is someone automating this process (seems easy) and dropping the whole thing somewhere. I agree - having the text in the TOS is not good enough. That's not good stewardship of people's data.
I'm adding links to things i find epic or weird: prnt.sc/4c39f0 prnt.sc/nu6ip9 prnt.sc/9y69y4 prnt.sc/bij9y3(this one you have to enter at your own risk its kinda weird)
I have used lightshot for over 2 years now. You upload directly? It's a prnt.sc link you save it to your computer? It's saved in it's own folder The organization is a bit toooooo easy to exploit so I don't upload directly. I'll snap to my hard drive and reupload under a more hashed site. Also: screenshotted
I'm super curious, how is this different from using the Print Screen key from the keyboard and just pasting them to paint, or in messenger/ms word for example??

Only the ones you upload to the site are public
They have an app for pc where you can straight up copy the image and paste it anywhere, and you don't need to upload or save it in your computer.
it’s also important to note that websites like lightshot aren’t bad to use for their intended purpose.. quickly sharing an image. I use it to share watermarked work in progress images for tattoo designs and commissions. but that’s something i couldn’t give a shit if someone found
Don't you have a screenshots folder that automatically saves your screenshots to it?
dropbox is safe for saving pictures right?

I use to use it it to crop print screen immediately but I won’t be using it anymore
h e l p You can use the snipping tool if you have windows. it’s the same thing but easier and probably better than doing all those steps with the print screen and pasting on paint
I am so thankful I have never used Lightshot nor heard of it, until now
Bro this is weird to have him updating every day again-
I don’t get this. There’s literally built in tools in Windows and Mac for screen shotting ffs....
it’s easier to share the screenshot that way, like d’angelo said it’s helpful for discord. it takes longer to attach an image than past a url
@Claire : why didn't you SS your forehead to look smaller? I'm going to hell, sorry.
@BobixCloud mac allows you to select a specific area to screenshot, it's super useful. idk why people don't just. Google how to crop their ss lolol

Not surprising. Everything steals personal info.
Not that it should be normalized =/
@@AtlaniBonita Oh gawd no. It shouldn't. But it does happen. Even your phone and computers do it. . As creepy as that is. Lets also not forget social media and web sellers especially collect data and info on people. Its especially bad that most people don't even know this happens. Be careful what you do with your information online people!
Reminds me of the saying "If you don't need to pay for the product, then you're the product"

LS Employee 2: "Don't you think we should ask the user every time the take a screenshot if they want to display the image publicly before we do that? It would be better for privacy while simultaneously reducing web hosting costs."
LG Employee 1: "No. We'd have to hire a 3 month contractor to implement that. Plus I sure our customers will agree that sacrificing security it totally worth the convenience. It's not like they can sue us anyway, right?."
the program does ask you if you want to upload the screenshot publicly or not everytime u take a screenshot

Thanks for making a video about this D’angelo! This is terrifying.
This is called an enumeration attack, and I've found posts about this from back in 2018. I checked it and it still works. I have not found any statement from lightshot regarding this vulnerability.
All it's going to take is someone automating this process (seems easy) and dropping the whole thing somewhere.
