Hey, you guys are amazing. You guys really have something going on it’s truly extra ordinary. I mean you work on your cars in front of your driveway on top of rocks not even a black top. That’s truly amazing and you put your tools on the floor on the ground, no table no fancy garage no lift. I love it. It gives me hope. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. love all your videos. Keep it going, please.
Excellent stand alone video . Couldn't believe it was nearly 2 hours long as time flew by . You bounce off each other really well . The body work on the corvette actually looks remarkable. It looks like a very good find . Hope you sell it quick for a great price .
Thanks Dave!! Glad you enjoyed it, it was a long one! We’re happy to say we’ve sold it and we reckon the new owner has got a bargain, it’s turned out to be a lovely car! 🚗
Got to say, this was a great video. - as all your videos are. Really like the long form stuff, which is obviously more effort for you guys but great to see a story from start to finish, especially when you're practically on my doorstep. Also, I've always wanted a Corvette and this isn't helping me quell that urge - I think if you ever do anything with a C6, I don't think I'll be able to help myself! :). Keep it up lads!
I would love to drive around in the c5 convertible, but I'm now too old and lazy to put the time and effort in to keep it in the condition it deserves. Keep up the good work
pss, guessing you picked up some new rubber. and likely nitto 555's. good tire for our Z's, however, keep the tire pressure up an extra 5lbs more than u normally would to avoid the rubber forming a bit of flat spot during storage
Thanks! Amazingly it sold in 24 hours ! You're correct, we bought some Nitto 555s and are having the wheels refurbished and the tyres fitted - It'll give the ZR a huge lift we think :) Really glad you enjoy the videos!
‘Merica in the UK! love how you guys got the Vette virus! Love me a C5, would love to own a C5 Zed Oh 6. as you blokes say it. awesome gen. 1st Vette with transaxle im sure you know. cheers boys! good seein ya again
@ I forgot to ask, has Johnny Smith reached out to you guys for a joint venture to come see the ZR1? He is the reason I know if you guys that’s really cool I just happened upon his channel one day
Just seen this! We spoke to him at the car event we filmed and he said he'd be up for doing a follow up vid when it's finished - If we can make it happen that would be super cool :)
Secret breaker I bloody new it no surprise to me put 2 & 2 together long time ago , remember when you went to visit it , looks like it’s still laying in same place , really enjoyed this video , shame haven’t got the funds to buy her.
I thoroughly enjoyed that video lads,I prefer them in that format,I can watch it while drinking my coffee,I appreciate that it’s difficult what with time, expenses and content but in my honest opinion it’s way too long between posts, sorry if I’m wrong about that, nevertheless what you do both up I enjoy watching and have done from the get go,keep it going lads and look forward to your next upload Love and peace from Ireland
Cheers Sid! It's been a juggling act so difficult to get the vids out sometimes.... We should have another one next Thursday or Friday so we're starting to get some sort of consistency to it! Thanks for watching :)
Good work. I remember reading Tyler Townsley's topics on Corvetteforum about restoring an 88 or 89 ZR1 (year is not a typo) which was found sitting in a field on the same island in worse shape than your parts car. Google will turn up the topics on the forum. I was fortunate to meet him at Sebring a couple of times before the 12 hrs when he was crewing on a friend of his 58 Lister, that raced a support race. Sadly I think your C5's best use is donating parts to allow sibling C5s to live. Looks like B&B exhaust on your vert. Guessing Route 66 B&Bs. My first C5 was a black '00 FRC with the flags removed off the front bumper and the letters painted silver on the rear bumper. BTW the 4 amber Euro tail lights are worth a bloody fortune in the USA.
That sounds really interesting, we will have to check it out! Any ZR-1 resto story is of interest, especially one on our island! 88 is a REALLY early car, must have been a prototype or something surely?! Thanks for the info re the exhaust, we think the parts car has the same one on it... The exhaust sounds great! It's funny, in the UK we like all the USDM parts and in the USA you guys seem to like the UK/Euro parts... I guess we basically all want what we can't have eh!
@@Auto_Funk It was a car GM had crushed. A few managed to remain in good enough condition that they were brought back. I've noticed that trend as well with USDM vs Euro and I believe speedhunters has featured some photoshoots of USDM in Japan. Suppose we all like what we can't have.
The crashed car is very sad, I’d strip it for parts and weigh the rest, the engine should fetch a decent amount. I agree the teddy/black interior is the best of all your cars, if you can fit it to Kev, I would.
It definitely is sad - It will sacrifice itself for the sake of keeping other vettes healthy though! The teddy/black interior will most likely go into Kev (although we have a brilliant upgrade idea for the seats in Kev which you will see in a future video!)
Hi Richard! What a legend! Thanks so much for your support :) it was for sale on eBay but we’ve actually old it already….! The eBay link is here if you want to have a look out of interest: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387592512074
Ref the wrecked corvette, I think I’d swap the Black and Tan interior into the burgundy car. It’s a stunning interior. Break the wreck for spares, I think there’s just too much work on it but you should make money on the parts
@Auto_Funk I was actually thinking of the blackone in the feild that you are using for bits and pieces. Strip it of all un essential parts for lightnessroll cage and go racing. Hill climb it. All sorts go into those trials.
The horn was an old one we had that was wired into the relay posts and just sat in the engine bay (completely bypassed the loom)… MOT tester must have missed the fact that the light didn’t come on (which we also did to be honest!) it was only later on that we realised the EML light didn’t turn on… As you can probably tell the video was filmed over months!
@@Auto_Funk Agree (when they are clean) just a lot of work. Our car is a medium grey at the moment, much prefer the grey to the previous white cars we had.
On the up side guy's it no where as bad as the last one you bought. It looks more like a tidy up job rather then all the word you had to carry out on the last one. 😃
Indeed it has been a consideration for me, as it would make swinging into the garage easier. The g/f wants it gone as the blossom annoys her with the car. :D! The graft was done years and years ago, and the tree has remained pretty consistent since then but yeah its quite a thing. :D!
It’s mine (Chris) there’s a bit of a story behind that and we did make a video about it… but we didn’t think they’d be a lot of interest in the Rover. It was bought as a one owner car with 17000 miles from new! The car nearly went to the scrappers. 😢 Comfy little shopping car though.
Tow hook angeling down like that is common to cars being tied down to a ship. Either tied down to hard or rough seas. Red over brown is horrendous, it'll be american, but will look horrendous. And honestly, I would part it out.
We hadn't considered that but you must be 100% right about the tow hook bending down during shipping tie down. It maes perfect sense! The brown interior would go into Kev the burgandy car which is having a full repaint so we would pick a colour that suits the interior!
I knew you were gonna buy that crashed vette lmao! the crashed car, think its just gonna be a donor to other C5s. you strip it for parts and sell what you cant use.

Euro-spec headlights and rear lights. you need to refloat the display of the HVAC… 8 surface mounted resistors.
Yep - Euro and JDM are the same we think... The HVAC panel is perfect after replacing all the bulbs!
Prep it for racing ? It's just finding the right form or category for it to suit it.

I was going to ask how did it pass the MOT without a horn or engine management light? But...., you know. 😉
