Mmmm....she's pregnant ! congrats my friend!! They use the softest tires available on new trucks from the dealers, so when you test drive the vehicle, you get the best plush ride possible, I've never kept the stock tires on a new truck I have ever purchased. Thanks for the vid, be well!
That’s the very first thing i did with my Tundra… get rid of those cheap ass Michelin tires!! General grabber atx all the way, never had a problem. (2019 Tundra 1794)
KO2’s all day, or some Nitto ridge grapplers, or some Michelin Defenders if you want a more diverse tire. Also, I’d change ‘em two at a time when you get new ones👍🏻
It's the same here in the UK, I used to have a Ford Ranger pick up now I have an Isuzu D-Max DL40 pick up, both were supplied with road tyres. I mean these are off road vehicles so why not fit at least decent all terrain tyres from new? Once they are worn I fit BF Goodrich, they are good on and off road, and they last well.
Go with a good set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I haven’t had any issues with the tires at all. Sure you are paying that premium but it’s totally worth every penny!
Hey amigo..hope your leg get better soon...listen in Puerto Rico there was a recall on the Tundras tires..toyota was replacing those here due to the real piece of crap and going bold at lower miles .Here as I say there was a campaing to replace those......Glad Bauer is doing good ..take care
Still rocking my 2014 ecoboost 3.5 2014 130 thousand miles and runs great still im on my 3rd set of spark plugs and I also run the ko2s I think Michelin ownes them I love them go with ko2s you will be glad you did there really nice .
I don't blame your frustration Tyson. Those tires are a joke. Really sours me on ever buying another Michelin tire. Hope the knee heals up fast my friend.
yeah I have those tires on mine. Discount tire gave me $50 each for mine with 6k mi on them. putting some cooper 285 75 18 on my truck after the lift gets installed tomorrow.
You don’t have to apologize.you’re line of work and property requires 10 ply tires and you’re dealership should know that before you take ownership of the vehicle.have a nice long weekend and your family ❤😊
Trucks need LT tires. They put those light weight cheap tires on to help with mpg numbers, all manufacturers do this. Tires may be the best 1st upgrade on a 1/2 ton truck!
The Michelins on my 22 tundra lasted till 58,000Km before I switched it out for grapplers. I live in the country, so mix of gravel roads and pavement. They don’t wear evenly especially front passenger tire.
Quadruplets in your future hey Tyson 😄 Time to get your Falken tires I know you wanted to change out the wheels and lift it might be time to do it now than later. Like I've said before Michelin light truck tires have been sh*t for decades. I would be worried those tires blowing out or doing a zipper on the highway they sure in the hell don't seem to be very strong tires. Keep getting holes in them weakens the casing, one will finally let loose and it probably won't be a happy ending.
The tires that Toyota and other car companies use on the new vehicles are extra soft for smoother ride . If you replace the tire with the same tire from the tire store you will notice deeper tread and harder rubber. Day and night difference.
I use only Falken Wildpeak 3 s A/T Here in Northern Ontario on the shale based logging and mining roads and have zero issues. I get a good 80,000 k s out of them and very low road noise on pavement.
Yup the dealerships puts crappy tires on trucks. The cheapest the worst. The other fellow that commented is right, put 10 ply tires on, they'll hold up better. Hopefully that's what you're replacing them with.
My wife’s explorer ST. 2500miles pirelli tires. Same thing a rock must have broke where the tread is and they refused to warranty the tire. Sent the dealership pics of the tire and nothing was stuck in it. So at 2500 miles a “performance suv” got a plug in the tire.
I’ve owned 4 tundras in my time and each time Toyota takes the cheap route on their tire choice…I got a 2024 tundra and the first thing I did was put a set of nitto recon grapplers….and sold all four factory tires on Facebook market place…no doubt in about a years time those Michelin tires would have to be replaced..
It's not the truck or tires it's where you drive them. OEM tires are made for manufacturers to be lightweight, get good gas mileage, and be quiet. If you want good tires upgrade to E-Load Range that has double the amount of side wall and surface protection. With that you get a heavy tire that will drag down performance and worsen your gas mileage, it's your choice but it is absolutely not the truck or tire's fault.
My co-worker recently bought a Tundra Night edition limited, he wanted the tires to be changed to 33in K02 before he picked it up they told him 1% larger than OEM voids his powertrain warranty I’m not sure if that’s a Toyota thing or his local dealer in NFLD. If that’s the cause guess I’ll stick with ram.
I share your frustration bud on tires, especially considering they are expensive and if you have certain tread depth with 4wd or awd vehicles you need to swap all 4 tires or it can cause damage to your 4wd system 😮 Tirerack has a great website that reviews tires and I'd suggest starting there and check to see if the ones your interested in or these tires for instance and check the reviews, you may be surprised either way. Best of luck working on that Molson muscle 💪🏽 🇺🇲 ♥️
If she is going slow and your are the individual going too fast and are also the only one that gets rocks in the tire. I think the rocks can be attributed to possibly your speed. Not saying that 100% the case but its the only vibrable i can see that is the difference between the 2 driving behavior.
Put a new set BFG All Terrain KO’3 s on and call it a day! The time saved from future mishaps is well worth the money ! Better yet sell that thing asap as many are experiencing mail bearing failures due to excessive heat and oiling issues! That’s why you don’t make a tiny engine do the work of a V8!
Maybe it's just a dud batch of tyre's, but i aint never heard of a Big Car using Michellin before. then again..i am Australian and we use tougher tyres.
This is so stupid! There's things on the road especially back roads that can't damage or flatten a tire... Your drive to see the terrain is so hilarious! Where's your magnifying glass for the trip? Please call Toyo customer service and complain, that would be their laugh of the day!
lol fan boy they keep replacing the tires and apologizing. 3 flats between 2 trucks in 25,000 kms when I have never had a flat on this road in the 3 years I have owned it.
For anyone below who missed the point here. You pay good money for the trucks- shouldn’t need to immediately put different tires on, especially when you buy an off road package. Manufacturers should be ashamed
They come from the factory with sausage skins, 2 ply garbage. I demand they take this crap off when I buy a truck and replace with 10 ply only and you won’t have anymore problems.
I feel you, at a young age, someone told me never had a Michelin tire cause they are expensive and not durable. Well to this date at 62 years old all my TOYOTA trucks since 1984 NEVER HAD MICHELIN TIRE.
It's been my experience that the tires that come on the new car ate usually cheaper and softer than ordinary tires. I think the car manufacturers do that intentionally so the car feels like it has a softer ride. Every time I've bought a second set of tires they always lasted almost double the mileage compared to the original ones.
Since you're the one building those gravel roads, what you need to do is . . . as you spread out the rocks you have to put the sharp side down. The other option of course would be, tell the rock quarry they need to put the gravel in a tumbler to knock off all the sharp edges so you have smooth stones for the base. 😏😉😜
I believe reading between the lines, you are getting new "puppies". Sorry to say it it(your wallet screaming) you need to get new tires all around! No way your wife can afford to get another flat or blown tire. Pretty nice being around the house more. 😂
Bro, I agree the tires need to be a bit better, but you do live in some of the toughest terrain for just a factory all terrain. You’re a little out of touch. Get some bfgs and you know you’ll be happy.
@@workplaytv tundra weighs how much vs a Kia? I’m in agreement the tires are lackluster, but it’s 2 different variables. Yea Toyota probably shouldn’t have put them on the truck but I’m not suprised a car that is half the weight isn’t blowing its tires out.
@@samline144 my issue is it’s their “trd offroad” that implies you can take it off road when in reality you can’t. If they choose to use these tires do not use them on an off-road truck.
@@workplaytv yea it’s bs, but from the looks of it those tires in general aren’t for the roads up there. You do a ton off the pavement working and living. I got a cooper at3 xl sidewall for towing. Been great so far. Maybe look into those?
That is ridiculous. I mean stock tires usually suck but you still get 20-30k out of them not 15. I guess the Michelin name doesn’t mean anything anymore
That close shot of the '4/32nd' tires does NOT look like such. From my experience that appears at least 6 is still there, do you have a tread depth gauge for yourself or a place nearby that sells them? Even online they sell
I think you might have to let one your guys that live on the asphalt road to daily drive it. I'd like to see you daily the f550 but that ride won't be nice on your leg recovery. So the 350 with the new exhaust and maybe some new tunes to raise the HP 80-100. And let the f350 rip it up as your daily.
I hope Toyota put more thought and effort into making sure that the new power train is reliable than they did when deciding what tire to put on a TRD Off Road. That's insulting.
That road actually looked rough as hell lol. You probably never had issues before because all your other tires were likely load range E (10 ply), and these little trucks just have normal passenger vehicle tires meant for roads?
Mmmm....she's pregnant ! congrats my friend!! They use the softest tires available on new trucks from the dealers, so when you test drive the vehicle, you get the best plush ride possible, I've never kept the stock tires on a new truck I have ever purchased. Thanks for the vid, be well!

Sorry about the tire. Thanks for showing the carving, almost up close. 😀
Brutal man. I thought the factory tires that came on my ram 3500 were bad but at least they didn’t get any flats.

I run Kumho AT53 LT. Lots of towing and gravel roads. 3 peak rating. Been solid. Price was good. The stock Michelins blew out twice, p rated.
Working in forestry, I switched to old range E from day 1. Part of the process. This isn’t unique to Toyota in the 1/2 ton segment

Reading the stats Michelin designed this tire for Toyota for fuel economy, not longevity. Lightweight and thin.
On their trd offroad truck with a locking rear differential. Great idea
