Okay, I have to thank you. Around 10 years ago, I saw the 1997 Stephen Fry film "Wilde" (awesome film btw). I was in 12th grade (actually a little over 10 years as I was 17 at graduation and am 28 now), but my family still had dial-up and the public library 1 hour per day was our internet access. So I was watching fanvids on UA-cam, but I didn't 'check' the music used back then. So I just knew "Heaven Can Wait' as an Oscar Wilde/Bosie Douglas fanvid song that was amazing and I assumed 80's-90's music since it had that more ballad/romantic song feel. And your comment let me add this to my top faves for Meatloaf (which include "Loving's You A Dirty Job" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now"). I also just re-found the fanvid and confirmed they used the Meatloaf song. So thank you!

So the female vocalist in this track is Lorraine Crosby from my home town Newcastle, England. Its not the actress in the video, she mimed along to Lorraine's voice. Lorraine received no credits or royalties from this song, even though some would argue its her vocal and lyrics that really make the track epic! Lorraine continues to tour in small shows around the UK with her band but apart from this and a few other recordings with Meatloaf (for which she did receive credit for under the name Ms Loud) Lorraine lives a quiet life and pops up on occasion at local events. She did Newcastle proud and deserved so much more recognition for the incredible voice she has!
Meatloaf had a unique sound to his music. It almost sounds theatrical and dramatic which would make sense since he had a theatre background. This song gives me chills every time I hear it! We lost a music legend, and he left us with unlimited music and a whole new appreciation for his brilliant artistry. I first heard this song in the malls, movie soundtracks, restaurants, and coming out of my parents' speaker. I finally asked my dad who sang it, and he said Meatloaf. I had no idea either, that the power vocals came from a brilliant artist, named Meatloaf. Great reaction y'all! Hope your week is treating you well! Til' next time.
Meatloaf’s big break was starring in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, after years of paying dues in theaters. This song off the legendary album Bat Out of Hell showcased his love for the theater.
This is such a beautiful, powerful, moving and inspirational song that will definitely go down in the history books as one of the best songs ever. Over my life hearing this song on the radio it has always caused me to stop what I was doing and reflect deeply in the events that have shaped my life, in particular the search for the forever elusive love of my life. This song is etched into my soul till the day I die and will never be forgotten, and Meatloaf will be forever perceived in my eyes not just as a great musician, but also a man who has shaped and influenced my life for the better. God bless you Meatloaf.
If you get a chance, just listen to the whole original Bat Out of Hell album. I promise you'll understand why that album is so historic. This song is from Bat Out of Hell II, which is also an excellent album.
He was just as powerful live maybe better with the added stage show. I was fortunate to see him on tour in the early 90s after this was released incredible show. It was there the crowd learned he worked on Broadway for 30 years and music was his second occupation he loved the theatre.

Written by Jim Steinman recorded by Meat Loaf & LORRAINE CROSBY (English singer songwriter). ➡️ PATRICIA RUSSO (American singer songwriter) was the female vocalist who toured with Meat Loaf between 1993 & 2013.
I always liked, "Where Angels Sing". The song you two were trying to remember was, " Paradise by the dashboard light". He has a big, operatic, powerful, and beautiful voice. Dig in some more you two. Thanks
Meat Loaf's best work was singing the songs written for him by songwriter Jim Steinman, who wrote his biggest songs... the two worked together in the 70's and delivered the 'Bat out of hell' album in 1977, which sold 14 million copies in the US, 40+ million worldwide. Unfortunately, their collaboration soured after Meat Loaf's vocal problems delayed the next album... the 2 finally delivered the 'Dead ringer' album in 1981, and it went to #1 in the UK but failed commercially in the US. Meat Loaf parted ways w/ Steinman, and his career went south in the 80's, but he kept recording albums & touring overseas... Finally, Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman reconciled and delivered this sequel album 'Bat out of hell II: Back into hell' that sold 5 million copies in the US. More issues emerged when Steinman copyrighted the 'Bat out of hell' title, after the release of Meat Loaf's 1995 album 'Welcome to the neighborhood'. Meat Loaf still recorded 'Bat out of hell 3: The monster is loose' in 2006 without Steinman's approval... and used a few Steinman songs for the record. In 2013, Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman reconciled again and used his songs for Meat Loaf's final record 'Braver than we are' in 2016... both were in poor health by then. Jim Steinman passed away in 2021... Meat Loaf passed away less than a year later. R.I.P. 😪 Some Meat Loaf classics to check out - "Rock n roll dreams come through" ... 'Heaven can wait' ... 'Midnight at the lost & found' ... 'Not a dry eye in the house' ... "It just won't quit" ... "I'm gonna love her for both of us" ... "I'd lie for you (and that's the truth)" ... 'Life is a lemon & I want my money back' ... 'Objects in the rear view mirror' ... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
You saved me a lot of time. I was just about to type something like that out, but you beat me to it. I remember watching a fascinating documentary about Meatloaf, about him growing up in a church choir, leaving his abusive dad, accidentally getting hired for Rocky Horror, freaking out and about to quit when he saw Tim Curry in full costume, and so much more. Meatloaf was just an amazing person with an incredibly powerful voice, and it's such a hard hit knowing he's gone. Thanks for typing out what I was thinking.
@@jamesmaclennan4525 His first and only UK number 1. It's a shame that the British singer on this track, Lorraine Crosby, was never given the proper recognition for her part.
Things Meat Loaf says he will never do in the song: Lie to you Forget the way you feel right now Forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight Do it better than I do it with you Stop dreaming of you every night of my life See that it's time to move on Be screwing around
Thank you guys, excellent job 🤓 I think Meatloaf would have deeply appreciated the outpourings of love and respect. When somebody's passing changes the actual world, you know they did good. He did it big and he did it good. 💔🌹🕊️
I have been a Meat Loaf fan for many years. He is the GREATEST! My ALL time fave. No one can or will ever be close to him. YES! This video is a mix between Beauty & the Beast and Phantom of the Opera. His Bat Out of Hell albums are a complete story. Each song is a "chapter". He has an opera vocalization. You can also tells he was in theater and Broadway by his style. Read his autobiography To Hell & Back. He was a very gifted, right place at the right time guy. He got on a show when he went to apply for a parking attendant job. He was there at the hospital when JFK was killed. So much history. NO ONE WILL EVER MATCH HIM. RIP MEAT!
Meat loaf is a fellow Texan (born in Dallas Texas) my sister and brother n law met him and his wife about seven years ago. He will be missed by Many🙏 Rest in love and peace 🕊️

This song blew the roof off the place when it came out in 93'. Meatloaf hadn't been significantly around in awhile, so this song came out of nowhere, like a bat out of hell.
Bless you two for playing Meat Loaf's music these past couple of days. I was a huge fan! That's the edited version. The studio version is about 12 minutes long.
Hopefully this man is watching over us seeing the impact his music has on us .. he was a icon and will be missed but will live on forever in his music ..RIP

Truthfully, this is good but I think Bat Out Of Hell is better.

Love the appreciation he has s getting. I discovered him the summer of '78 and have been immersed ever since. That powerful, boundless, emotive voice.
Some Meat Loaf classics to check out - "Rock n roll dreams come through" ...
Bat out of Hell was in the UK Album charts for over 20 years..that must be something of a record. in itself
@@jamesmaclennan4525 His first and only UK number 1. It's a shame that the British singer on this track, Lorraine Crosby, was never given the proper recognition for her part.
Things Meat Loaf says he will never do in the song:
Lie to you
Forget the way you feel right now
Forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight
Do it better than I do it with you
Stop dreaming of you every night of my life
See that it's time to move on
Be screwing around
Thank you guys, excellent job 🤓 I think Meatloaf would have deeply appreciated the outpourings of love and respect. When somebody's passing changes the actual world, you know they did good. He did it big and he did it good. 💔🌹🕊️
RIP MEATLOAF aka Marvin Lee Aday 🙏
THX’s for this Asia & BJ, y’all are such lovely souls. Loved everything bout reaction! ♥️
So long Meat. You will be missed. Thanks for all the memories.
If you haven't already reacted to it, another powerful & sad love song that demonstrates Meatloaf's vocal range is "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad".
Yes!! Love y'all!! South Florida boi here! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾 Love Meatloaf ❤️
RIP MEAT!
That opening piano riff!!!!!!!....everyone knows what song is coming!! AWESOME!! Love this song for many many years and it is still fresh today!
I love this version, it's my youth. Thank You guys
Meat loaf is a fellow Texan (born in Dallas Texas) my sister and brother n law met him and his wife about seven years ago. He will be missed by Many🙏 Rest in love and peace 🕊️
One of the best songs ever written and his talent was truly amazing. RIP Meatloaf. You will be missed.
The album that this song is from is one of my favorite. A lot of great songs. Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are, It Just Won’t quit.. and a lot more🤘🏼
This song blew the roof off the place when it came out in 93'. Meatloaf hadn't been significantly around in awhile, so this song came out of nowhere, like a bat out of hell.
“Meat loaf “ is pure Rock Opera Absolute Amazing Vocals with very theatrical performances every song !!!
Very underrated
that song won a grammy for that song
A BRILLIANTLY beautiful musical STORYTELLER! R.I.P. SWEETLOAF!💔❤
So much passion comes thru in this song and video....
It was a Masterpiece!!! Meatloaf was a genius!!!!!
The Master of All Masters!!
That's my favorite song since forever I remember playing it in my head everywhere I went in 1994
Love meat loaf💕 Love all his albums and his role as Eddy in rocky Horror Picture Show!!
Bless you two for playing Meat Loaf's music these past couple of days. I was a huge fan!
That's the edited version. The studio version is about 12 minutes long.
"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" - perfection in creation and execution. God bless Meat Loaf.
This is probably my favorite Meatloaf song....😔
Hopefully this man is watching over us seeing the impact his music has on us .. he was a icon and will be missed but will live on forever in his music ..RIP
I love this song it’s definitely a masterpiece and it’s like riding a wave it goes up high and fast for a min then it eases back down and slowed down for a min then right back on top
