We all have flaws in our personalities, negative quirks that those we love (romantically, platonically, family-wise, etc) willingly put up with because they love us, and we do the same in return. Gambit loves Rogue, and while he doesn’t like her fixation on Magneto, he’s going to give Rogue the space she needs to figure it out. He loves her too much to do otherwise.

I love that they kept Nightcrawler quippy as he was in the comics too. Yes, he is spiritual, and that was his point in the original series, but he was much too serious. Now here, they made him as funny as he was on the original comics. So far, the series has been so much better adapting stuff from the old comics, especially the destruction of Genosha as the end of the X-Men comics and the beginning of New X-Men in the 2000s and the Cassandra Nova arch.
Personally, I liked him serious. It made him feel like a wise teacher, a rock that you could count on, even during his hardships. And besides, there wasn't a lot of time to be happy (his mother "dying", his brother wanting to kill him, persecution, etc.). However, I can definitely appreciate the more playful side he shows here. Allows for a nice contrast to what is to come.

That doesn't take away his teaching and wisdom, in fact it makes him approachable because many misjudge him for his "Demonic" look. This was a key thing in the cartoon Pilot "Pryde of the X-Men" when Kitty Pryde meets the team and Nightcrawler, she needlessly screams in terror as he approaches her. Then at the end, when all think that he died sacrificing himself for the team to escape, Kitty is devastated. Yes, there are moments when he becomes gloomy, and serious, but he's always been sort of like the plushy guy of the team and in those comics times, he was the voice of reason for Logan to control his Berserker Rage.

If there are other moments, I’d like to be informed.

The comics suggest he will become one of the four horsemen of Apocalypse and in that storyline he does try to kill Rogue but of course he is not himself either. I imagine viewers also want to see him get revenge on her even if it's not really him. But I'm pretty sure Mystique is Valerie Cooper and she hates Gambit. So I'll be surprised if she doesn't step in for this kind of storyline.

If we're lucky enough to get an adaptation of the Mr. and Mrs. X storyline, (yeah, I know that one's recent,) but we'd BETTER see Nightcrawler officiating, I can just imagine Gambit finally going through with it, but right before he goes to ask Nightcrawler if he can clear his schedule for a bit, and then pops the question.

I love that Kurt ships Gambit with Rogue. They have a lovely deep, romantic connection. But, let's be real here. Rogue has some very real, valid concerns around intimacy. How can you share a romantic relationship with someone you can never touch? That would torture for both of them.
It’s just so sad. We all know if Rogue was allowed to touch and feel him. They would have a happy life together, get married, start a family, have kids and have a long happy life together.
Just as a reminder, Remy has no problem settling down with Rogue in a nice place, it’s probably his biggest wish. But it’s Rogue who continuously pushes those ideas away. Gambit would do anything in his power to find a work around for Rogue’s desire to touch or compromise with alternatives. But Rogue deadass dropped their entire relationship to the ground so she can go to Magneto instead and Gambit died with the feeling that he couldn’t satisfy his love and felt he wasn’t good enough for her, that she chose Magneto over him. This show really made me hate Rogue and toxic people try to seek validation in Rogue‘s actions because breaking men‘s hearts is always ok for cheaters

I think one of the worst parts about this episode is that you have so many cameos in this episode - Leech, Multiple Man, Dazzler, and I swear that's Tabitha "Boom Boom" Smith at 0:50. There's also members of the Inner Circle/Hellfire Club. All of them were there, only to be killed off during the attack. I admit I'm not that sorry about the Inner Circle/Hellfire Club that were killed, but the rest... Dazzler was a blond and part of the X-Men in Pryde of the X-Men. Tabitha was part of the X-Men in X-Men Evolution. How many potential future members of the X-Men were killed? And then there's the innocent mutants like Leech and the Morlocks.

To be fair, both of his appearances in the original series were in very serious situations. But I'm glad to see him get to act playful in this one.
