This is just a small little taste. They wrote and recorded "Hardwired" in less than a week. They kinda just threw it in there. The rest of the album they have been working on for 8 years. Going to be something special. This song is 3 min. There is still bout 75 minutes to go and 11 songs. That is an average of over 7 minutes per song. "Hardwired" is just the tip of the tip of this iceburg. We are in for a real treat! \m/
+Gregor Novak metallica was known for making songs that sounded like they were written by the gods, like you could try and copy stuff but lyrically and musically it would be hard to match for anyone. this song is something me and the my freinds could write in an hour if that. thats what we miss.
How is this for a weird coincidence - Last night I checked google and youtube for any new tracks from the forthcoming album, nothing. Then less than an hour after that search they reveal this song and all the specs of the album! lol It has been over a year since I last checked on any info about them and the album etc.
Even Death Magnetic had songs with changing and evolving rhythms, namely "the day that never comes" I can only hope the new album isn't as 1 dimensional as this song. Not saying it's bad, but it was too repetitive.
"Even Death Magnetic had songs with changing and evolving rhythms, namely "the day that never comes" I can only hope the new album isn't as 1 dimensional as this song. Not saying it's bad, but it was too repetitive." Death Magnetic was garbage... that song you mention, "the day that never comes"... that song isn't even fucking metal. It's hard rock. Also, it's crap. Mind you that I'm speaking as a someone who has been a Metallica, and Heavy/Thrash Metal fan since age 5 in 1986. This ("Hardwired") was a pure old school thrash metal song. Complaining that it's "1 dimensional" is missing the fucking point of thrash, entirely. Thrash metal is music to mosh and/or headbang to. This song serves that purpose well. There's no need to over-complicate thrash.
I don't know what more people want. You'll never get old metallica back, but what they are doing now is showing a more mature aggressive sound. it's thrash, it's speed metal, and it's bringing back those straight to the point lyrics and solos! I think this album is going to be a great follow up from Death Magnetic, scratch lulu from the books. lol
No, Perfect would have been if Kirk put a little more effort into that solo. He had a chance to blow the doors off but just cruised through. Great tune though!
Do you play drums? If not, then how would you know? I'm assuming you don't because Lars was a competent drummer in the 80's. Now he's just a poser. Without Protools he'd be, "Shit out of luck!"
Listen baw-bag, try and stick to the argument instead of getting personal. You know absolutely nothing about me... and yes, learning the instrument to grade 8 does give me the right to analyze Lars's, at best, mediocre playing. Being famous doesn't make you a good musician... and BTW, I saw this band when they were a support act for Ozzy. Do the math dumb fuck. I haven't lived with my parents for quite sometime. You're just spitting out the dummy because you can't handle someone who's opinion is more informed than your own. Who's the poser? I also do more than kiss girls, I fucked your mom. Although I needed a step ladder to get down when I was done. Now fuck off kid.
I love seeing someone still excited about Metallica. I was born in 1981, when Metallica was born. They were the first metal band I got into. They are the standard for me as far as my metal influences go.
foFor being such a huge Metallica fan, you should know that the songs on Beyond Magnetic werent demos. They were full, completed songs that just didn't happen to make the final cut of Death Magnetic, but were released to coincide with Metallica's 30th anniversary.
My good friend played in a band signed by Lars to his label back in late 90's/early 2000's. They have remained good friends and what I know is the new album is going to really make old school Metallica fans happy. :)
Some people have told me it reminds them of the ride the lightning/ master of puppets era. With songs like this, I can see how it's old school metallics, I love this album.
*shivers with delight* Words cannot describe how happy I am right now. I stubled upon this song, by sheer accident, the other day. I'm Metallica's biggest fan in history, so I got shocked when I missed the song's release. But I LOVE this song and the fact that they're cursing and that it's in E-tuning and its brutality. Just the metallica I know and love. I'll also be getting the deluxe-version. I mean - how could I not? It's fuckin' Metallica, after all. I cannot care less about the haters. haters will always exist, no matter what you do. It's been 8 long years (feels like 8 lifetimes), but it's fiiiiiiiiinally here!!!! YES!!!!! Long live Metallica!!!
Dude I fucking love your enthusiasm. You look just like I did when I first heard the song. In my opinion, this is the best song they've written since AJFA. I am so fucking stoked for the new album. Metallica is the only band who can still bring out my inner 15 year old. Feels good.
I'm currently watching you on my tv and commenting via cell phone , as a fellow Metallica fan I agree with you it's so fucking nice to hear them and a lot harder Metallica is my all time favorite band I think Robert truillijo is the best thing that could of happened to them . I can't wait for the album to drop if this is the style they are going forward with I'm sure the album will be a breath of fresh air !
Haven't really followed your content since you stopped doing reviews, but saw this in my recommendations and decided to watch. I really dig this song. I liked Death Magnetic, but I think this is gonna blow it way out of the water. Probably gonna be their best since the Black Album, not that means much.
I really like your reaction to the video! I like the overall vibe of the song. It sounds like they gone back to their roots. This song is probably their best stuff since the 80's albums.
Hey man! This is great! Fucking awesome way to review! As a musician and diahard music fan i general this was alot fun to watch! Thanks! The appreciation of music!
Been a Metallica fan for almost 30 yrs' and this tune is awesome, the production isn't as muddy, you might say, as Death Magnetic. You don't need to strain to hear the bass and the energy is there in spades ! I'm stoked as hell for this album !
Read the interview with Lars in Rolling Stone. He states thst they "rediscovered" Kill'Em All and that "there are traces of residue" from that album in this new one. I think that is a commentary on life in general, that all things come full circle and returning to one's roots is a natural progression in the creative process. This offering is a truly full throttle middle finger to the spoon-fed pablum that has become contemporary music.
Bro I didn't even bother to read any comments cuz when I saw the like to dislike ratio I knew we were dealing with haters that and close minded ppl. I bring some positive energy for everyone. Amazing. Kings of thrash or meta whatever lol they are up there as one of the greatest bands of ALL time. Any genre. Their impact as a band will echo forever thru musical compositions they inspired. Thanks bro
Been a fan since the beginning, and yeah they've have a couple of misses (personal opinion), so I totally related to your pre-listening nerves. I was just the same. But hell! From the get go I got the shivers down the spine. This track is awesome. Can't wait to hear the rest of the forthcoming album. Great reaction vid. I fully related the whole way through, and was there right with you. You now have a new subscriber. Peace, dude!
Go on son! Same as you, my favourite band and I woke up to this this morning and it put a big smile on my face. First thing I noticed was how good Hetfilield sounded....hasn't sounded this on point for years. Big Fun Tune! love it🤘🤘🤘
I F**Kin Love It Also the Show they did in Minnesota on August 20th 2016 Avenged Sevenfold & Volbeata US Bank Stadium was recorded for Audio as a double live album and Visual u can preorder from their webstore i already mine the 3 disc + digital download of hardwired...to self destruct and live in Minnesota August 20th 2016 where they perform Hardwired for the first time before the release of the studio album.
every time you listen to the song, it gets better and better wow !
exactly my thoughts
Soooooo true
+artie X2
absolutly true
never have I seen such a truthful comment
Best production since the black album
Greg Fidelman had a lot to do with the sound as well, just look at his History of work as a production, mixing, recording Engineer.
Remember when the Black album didn't even exist..I do
I agree, since everything before that was better ;)
indeed, that's a gread production, i love it, but do you think the instruments remember All Nightmare Long???
Which was overproduced
This is just a small little taste. They wrote and recorded "Hardwired" in less than a week. They kinda just threw it in there. The rest of the album they have been working on for 8 years. I hope you're right because hard wired is seriously overrated
Meh, to his each his own. I think it is a great tune. Fun to play on drums too.
Ben Saslow it's true. Lars and James said it themselves. They wrote it and produced it in less than a week in July
I fucking love it. It's pure Thrash Metal. I hope the next songs in this album be as great as Hardwired. Metallica is back.
is this the only Metallica song where James doesn't yell "YEAH!"
Well i suppose that during the live version he will go "yeah" instead of "go". Just James' things :D
Lmao that's what I was thinking
Fuck the haters, this is awesome
INDEED IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!
Hard wired to self destruct !
Also fuck anyone who thinks this is a 'return to form' when they did this already in 2008. Hell, it's similar riffs from Death Magnetic even.
You just want to freeze frame RTL and MOP forever but thats just stupid. Its a great song.
+Gregor Novak metallica was known for making songs that sounded like they were written by the gods, like you could try and copy stuff but lyrically and musically it would be hard to match for anyone.
this song is something me and the my freinds could write in an hour if that.
thats what we miss.
I really think it reminds me if Slayer, which is awesome! Would you agree?
i do hear some similarities to Slayer.
I believe it's because slayers producer is producing this album, it's back to its 80s roots METALLICA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO WAY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAHA THE BEST COMENT HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
Vu un no Kopp un
+sakmaidikplis GTFO!!
Your reaction was very similar to mine lol. I am very happy indeed.
How is this for a weird coincidence - Last night I checked google and youtube for any new tracks from the forthcoming album, nothing. Then less than an hour after that search they reveal this song and all the specs of the album! lol It has been over a year since I last checked on any info about them and the album etc.
Props for filling in for James with the "yeah"s.
just the same reaction as mine, but i was jumping XDDDDDDDDDDDDD
me too I was laughing and jumping with the heavy fast riff
same haha
missed that raw guitar crunch from master or justice
I agree..
or justice guitar tone..

I'm just gonna effin say it. The song is effin perfect. Bad azz!
No, Perfect would have been if Kirk put a little more effort into that solo. He had a chance to blow the doors off but just cruised through. Great tune though!
+paych GeRonimo I heard the album version of this song will be over 6 minutes so wait til you hear that.
WE'RE SO EFFED! SHOOT OUTTA LUCK!
+MapopoTV lol
@@mrtarkanianx As you know it's actually still the 2nd shortest Metallica song.
I still come back to this reaction so many years later because your excitement in this gives me life haha
That's the closest to classic metallica they've sounded in a long while.
I was goosebumping through the whole song. Fucking love the song
it took them 8 years coz they had to edit Lars' double bass...
you're just upset you can't afford a 10 dollar CD because you're a broke Mexican
Do you play drums? If not, then how would you know? I'm assuming you don't because Lars was a competent drummer in the 80's. Now he's just a poser. Without Protools he'd be, "Shit out of luck!"
Sheep, sheep everywhere 😂

You Metallica fanboys are just hilarious. Listen to something with real balls. May I suggest Toxic Holocaust, or even Sodom.
The start of the track kicks you right in the teeth then resumes on a glorious rampage of thrashanomics.
it reminds me of fight fire with fire
Reminds me of My apocolypse.
Some Parts also remind me of the early Days... especially the intro is very much Seek and Destroy like... :D
Yeah 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The song KICKS ASS! I'll be buying the hell out of the 3 disk deluxe version.
Metallica are Back awesome 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸
I love seeing someone still excited about Metallica. I was born in 1981, when Metallica was born. They were the first metal band I got into. They are the standard for me as far as my metal influences go.
When I saw the cd came out I freaking screamed and bought it

I know when they were released. I listened to them immediately after they got released each day the 30th anniversary shows were happening.
Demos that aren't on the album, B-sides, etc... it's all the same. Stuff that wasn't studio release.
My good friend played in a band signed by Lars to his label back in late 90's/early 2000's. They have remained good friends and what I know is the new album is going to really make old school Metallica fans happy. :)
Loved the reaction, I felt like a kid at Christmas when it came out! Delux edition pre-ordered! Have a fuckin' sub man
what is the song of intro?
Some people have told me it reminds them of the ride the lightning/ master of puppets era. With songs like this, I can see how it's old school metallics, I love this album.

Been a Metallica fan for almost 30 yrs' and this tune is awesome, the production isn't as muddy, you might say, as Death Magnetic. You don't need to strain to hear the bass and the energy is there in spades ! I'm stoked as hell for this album !

Cool reaction video! You're a cool dude rocking out Metallica and Star Wars poster in the background! High Five!

Fucking love it. Back to their roots for sure. This is a mix of Kill, Ride and Master. Bravo!
Everyone reacting to Lux Æterna rn

Been a fan since the beginning, and yeah they've have a couple of misses (personal opinion), so I totally related to your pre-listening nerves. I was just the same. But hell!
