Well roboto it's our job to educate the youth is it not? I wasn't trying to be nasty to him or anything just got annoyed since everyone overuses and misuses r/wooosh and has completely ruined one of my favourite jokes.
The Reason for all of these NES Ripoff games is that Game Consoles were Banned for very Long in china until the late 90s early 2000, but you could get a Jackie Chan Computer that was "Educational computer", but under the Hood it was just a Famicom clone so that meant you could play NES games and only NES games, so people would port "New" games to the NES.
Where did you hear this? China's console ban didn't occur until 2000. Before that they had lots of imported consoles and clones (at least for ppl who could afford them).
Also , "porting" newer games to NES hardware is essentially making a brand new game. That makes no sense economically.
The reason these consoles run old games is, because of the 2000 console ban, only plug-n-play systems were technically legal until 2015. So the "console" had to contain all games inside of it. And fitting hundreds of PS2 or even PSX games on the console would require way more storage.
Plus, these are cynical cash grabs, not products designed by people who care about games or gamers. So they want to make them as cheap & deceptive as possible. Making it resemble a PS4 whilst only running NES/MAME games maximizes profits compared to building something actually able to run PS2 games-especially since emulation adds a lot of additional performance overhead. They'd need more storage, more processing power, more RAM and also more expensive controllers with analog sticks.
Similarly, older games are just easier to pirate & more widely available for these manufacturers to find online. And their emulators are more mature.

@@WinVisten China has had a ton of video game bans. So, I dunno, perhaps one was lifted recently? But the console ban was lifted back in 2015.
The most recently lifted ban I can find was specifically on Pokemon Unite and Don't Starve.
Before that, they stopped approving video games licenses for like a year. They finally started approving new domestic games in April 2022. But by then they'd already put thousands of Chinese game devs out of business.
I think they also recently started approving international games again after a year-long pause. They seem to do this kind of stuff every few years.
Wasn't it mostly Taiwan that did the porting? Wasn't that where most of the bootleg NES developers came from?

i read somewhere that making emulators run games 99% perfect is pretty easy. making them run 100% the same as the original is near impossible though and its that 1% that can cause massive sync problems in sound and graphics. good emulators can smooth that out, but bad emulators... well, youre looking at it.
That is true though 99% is still quite a high number. More like 90%.
Good emulators can help but most of the time they can't. The only way to get games to run borderline flawlessly is to individually tweak the ROMS and the emulator for each of them. That's what Nintendo did on the Wii virtual console.

Not one single person online, so far, has ever gotten their hands on an actual branded Soulja Boy console. It makes me wonder if he ever even followed through with delivering whatever orders he received.
Word is he got cease and desisted by Nintendo and they said if he shopped a single one they would sue. Pretty sure somewhere in his websites terms and services stated no refunds, or made it convoluted/inconvenient to receive a refund. in the pikachu clone for the smd/sg there's a version where there is music. The version is stored in a real cartridge. Maybe the rom extractor that they used to extract the rom was a cheap Chinese one. Or just simply they exported it with no fm modulation but pcm sampling.

What a weird thing to add to this console, the body of a xbox, a pelican ps2 controller.
Many years ago I worked for a famous UK based videogame retailer and during the ps2 era We'd sell those controllers with the store logo stuck in that spot. It usually was the first thing to break on them, just before the d-pad.

The bottom of the screen issue with Sonic 2 can happen on real hardware (it happens on my Mega Drive) and happens in most emulators, so it’s not that unusual. *EDIT:* I just verified it, it happens sometimes on all Mega Drives since it’s a rasterisation error within the game’s code.

The bottom of the screen thing is an issue with the Rev0 and Rev1 revisions of Sonic 2, however the Rev2 revision fixes this. The issue was introduced in the internal quality assurance archive Beta 5 version and remained until Rev2

In defense of the SNES emulator, Yoshi's Island is actually one of, if not the hardest SNES games to emulate properly due to the chips used on the cartridge.

I did recognise that Pokemon game from that Jontron video. But the one Jontron was playing was on SNES while the one on the knock of console is playing some kind of Mega Drive version. So maybe that's why there's no music for this one?
Not gonna lie, as I was watching, I had forgotten this was even about Soulja Boy. Wasn't until the end where he was brought up again, that I remembered. I knew things were bad but goddamn.
It gets even worse when it's revealed that he's trying to get at the console thing again even after his gaming site was shut down by Nintendo. AND, what's really hilarious is the fact that he was even trying to ask people to "donate" money to his campaign just to "his" system, which you would still have to pay for. There's no way to check who donated the most money for one thing, since it's all in one cluster if anyone chose to do that. Then there's a chance you may not even get the thing at all.

7:37 I know I am wayyy late, but I do want to say this; that controller is probably a sort of shell that back when the PS3 was still active would be bought by third party companies so they could plaster their names on that little plastic piece with the adhesive and sell them as a cheap but working controller. (I say probably because I had one of those controllers that had a logo on that plastic bit and have seen the same one with different branding on the controller.)

Souljaboy is screwed. Like, the second Nintendo finds out about this, and acts on it, there's no coming back from that. Sega and Sony also have some stakes in this, and while Sega's pretty lenient, I doubt they'll allow this to persist. And if you also have Sony on your tail... Yeah. Souljaboy wasn't prepared to sell consoles, and is gonna pay dearly for it when he's got at least two powerhouse companies going after him.
Yeah, that's like if a person making a GBA ripoff and selling it thinking they won't get sued.

· One contains a 900+ collection of Japan & Korea games (most of them are on the BLUE ELF 2 list).
· I'm still building on a separate list where it's all USA-release titles including Mortal Kombat.
· I'm almost finished making a Golden-Age collection of every arcade game below the year 1985 including the Pac-Man series.
