These games and DVD players are actually pretty common here in the Philippines, usually being sold by low-end Chinese and Taiwanese department stores. The games are distributed EXACTLY as you see them, from the controllers down to the actual game menus. The More You Know.
I have the same disc as the one in the video and it works on a normal dvd player. Played a bunch of the games on it though i never noticed how off sync the sound was.
The reason why it's lagging so much and has so much slowdown is because it's reading directly from the disc. The laser can only pass by that section of the disc so quickly, and the buzzing sound is the interrupt between the laser speeding over unused portions of the disc to get to the portions with the current data on it. Some old 3DO, SEGA Mega CD, and Saturn games used to have the same problem. Since it doesn't have RAM it can't store the data and read ahead on the disc to load new portions of the ROM. It's also why discs stop working the moment the laser gets stuck instead of playing a bit more video before finding the end of the pre-loaded data. Combine that with the fact that it has to essentially halve it's already meager 150MHz or so processing power to emulate an entire Famicom plus sort inputs from the controller, and I actually have to commend it being able to do this at all.
Being a Chinese device it's likely they had to make the emulator a side feature for legal purposes and didn't up spec the system because they wanted to avoid it being labeled a illegal game console.
Oh, that makes sense. Thanks! Honestly, all of these issues could have been avoided if they just added some flash memory and loaded all of the ROMs into it from the disc when reading it.

Rerez can use stage music without fear, even if the companies are hellbent on scouring youtube for copyright infringements, the Buyee sound quality is SO BAD that it provides an effective camouflage from the youtube scan system recognizing them.

Did you try putting the game disc in a PC to see if it could be read? Then you could potentially pull the ROMs off of it and test them on a PC and see if it was a problem with the ROMs that made them play so poorly.
I have a feeling that the disc is too small to house all the ROMs, even tho ROMs are tiny. You know the disc is as cheap as it can be, probably closer to 1 Mb. It's probably another bypass thingy that tells the system what library to access.
Personally, I'd rather not risk having my machine contract whatever malware is hidden on the disc itself. Just because the BUYEE isn't able to run it doesn't mean it's not there. (Hell, maybe it actually can, and the malware is the real source of the emulation issues.)

Lots of these Bootleg consoles can be found online or in countries that aren't western. Usually in Asia. I actually have the same game disc that the buyee has and it works with a normal dvd player. My dad plugged a Bootleg ps1 controller to the dvd player and i played with it alot, a few years ago.

3:30 EVD was actually far more popular than just 4 movies in China, and back then, lots of pirated DVDs that you can buy in China are EVD formatted, people often call them "compressed discs". The advantage of EVD is, it's basically a DVD-ROM with video files in a certain manner, so you can choose to put a whole season of TV drama or dozens of movies at VHS quality (hence the name "compressed"), or less than 30 minute of HD video (it can be even over 1080P as long as the decoder and disc mechanism is able to catch up) in a single disc, depending on disc manufacture's taste.
I used to have the exact DVD play soulja boy advertised. It was way back in 2005-06 when I was still a kid, so the struggle to find it is most likely due to it being some old obscure model now. How S.B got it is a mystery to me.

Dear god, this is so terrible! I have a soft-spot for most early 2000’s DVD Players, as I know how incredible it was when I was a kid to have the ability to watch films and videos on the go. But no, this is honestly embarrassing. The audio is horrific, and the controller is awful! Why was this made!? They couldn’t even put 300 games on! It’s not like it’s hard, you could easily fit 300 NES games on a CD!

I downloaded thousands of NES ROMs into my USB flashdrive and the games run fine on my DVD player few years ago.
They could've just add a cheap 8MB RAM or something. Would've made the games run better.

Dear god, this is so terrible! I have a soft-spot for most early 2000’s DVD Players, as I know how incredible it was when I was a kid to have the ability to watch films and videos on the go. But no, this is honestly embarrassing. The audio is horrific, and the controller is awful! Why was this made!?
They couldn’t even put 300 games on! It’s not like it’s hard, you could easily fit 300 NES games on a CD!

I bought a DVD player that looked EXACTLY like the Soulja one you showed, for the screen alone to use as an external camera monitor.
The games are exactly as horrible to play as this version you have. If not worse.
Was it like an old mid to early 2000s one by chance? I used to have one that look super simular to that (made by vivo) and the controller Legit fell apart in my hands.
