That knockoff PSP is actually uses a Sega Megadrive SoC instead of an emulator. The reason for the sound and speed issues is either they use a wrong quartz oscillator for it, or they force an NTSC-only chip to run in PAL (50Hz) mode by lowering the overall clock down, so the output frequency will be matched.
As someone very versed in playing the slowed down 50Hz PAL version of Sonic...that's not the PAL version of Sonic. The version I played is definitely slower with slower music, but that's slower still. It might be running between 40-45Hz from what I could tell.

"Thanks for purchasing playing vision portable, playing vision portable product designed for many hours of game-*PLAYINGING* fun." Truly written in a way only Soulja Boy fans will understand.
It's like Soulja Boy wanted to throw his hat into the video game industry but forgot that it would require him to create his own hardware. So by the time he'd set up the websites and the trademarks he realized that he needed a product to sell and just decided to sell someone else's (admittedly awful) hard work as his own.
The Vita is actually a great system. When it comes to handheld systems, the Vita is the most graphically superior. It's also not a bad emulation device. It's really a shame it was unsuccessful in the west. It's huge in Japan, though. I'm going to buy me another one so I can play Persona 4 Golden which is the best game on the Vita.
I have the vita and I love it. I've got all my old Final Fantasy and Patapon games on it. Furthermore, playig Dissidia 012 there is more comfortable than on the PSP in my opinion.
I hacked my PSVita and now I can play MS DOS, PS1, PSP, SNES, NES, N64, Macintosh, Atari Lynx, Sega Genesis, GBA, GBC, Neo Geo, and Nintendo DS games on it. I can also use my SD card adapter to use my 128GB micro SD card to store all my favorite games on my Vita. It's an amazing little piece of software. Everything looks ten times better with the OLED screen and the battery life is extraordinary.
I liked the Vita as a system, my only problem was the buttons were really small and clustered together. So it was really easy to accidentally press a wrong button or two buttons at once.
PsVita didn't get the same love, due to the Nintendo's dominance with the 3ds (and Switch), but at least you can play previous PlayStation games on it.
There's actually a newer version of the X6 / MP5 Player Vita looking things that now has a Nintendo Switch color scheme. These knockoff companies are trying a little too hard these days. Oh well. At least they've improved the X series line lately.

16:48 - Actually, there is a result if you put Sonic 1 on top of S&K. It will still take you to the Blue Sphere game, but instead of only one stage, you get to access every stage in that minigame. This result actually appeared in Sonic Mega Collection, where it got the name "Blue Sphere".
17:34 TecToy was (and somewhat still is) the official distributor for Sega products here in Brazil. They distributed the Zillion gun, and consoles from the Master System up to the Dreamcast. Some of these consoles were assembled here in Brazil. The marketing and support TecToy gave at the time was the responsable for the huge sucess of Sega here. You could say here in Brazil Sega actually won the 8 bit and 16 bits console wars. The NES was never sold oficially here, but we had a bunch of Famiclones (still the SMS won), and the SNES was oficially sold here by a company called Gradiente (which distributed Nintendo consoles here up to the Game Cube). Woody Woodpecker (called here "Pica-Pau") is very popular here in Brazil. I thinks its because open air TV channels would re-run many old episodes of the cartoon every so often. Our dub of the show is really good and many of the jokes and characters are memes here. Its the same thing with Top Cat in Mexico. The Woody Woodpecker game is supposed to look like the old cartoons. Many of the characters, hazards and enemies are direct references to many famous episodes of the Woody Woodpecker cartoon. Also, i heard stories about TecToy don't having devkits for the Mega Drive. They also made games, ports and rom hacks for the SMS. All of these games are oficially licensed by Sega. TecToy used to show these games to Sega of Japan to get they approval.
Well, Souljaboy is a rapper. That means he's somewhat famous, maybe less famous now, but famous none the less. If he wanted to get into the game industry, why didn't he collaborate with some legit gaming company to make some kind of a special edition of a game or a console? He could have started selling like d-brand skins for consoles with his design, special accessory, you know, something legit that people would wanna buy. Instead he turned himself into a total joke. And the punch line is that he really sees himself as a "gamer". What a clown!
From what I've heard, he's the first rapper who have ever done this- most branch off to clothing and other accessories to established their brand. And you know what's funny? He insulted Kanye, who has a successful shoes and clothing brand, even though Souja's consoles are literally bootlegs.
That probably would have been better but it would be hard for him to do. As he is pretty irrelevant now . His best bet was to find a different industry to jump into. One that would be more likely to take any celebrity that offers them some deal. Like the alcohol industry.
just watch one of smellja boy's videos of him randomly talking about anything, he is an idiot. he thinks we are unhappy about his consoles because we "dont want to see a black man get money" lol
Yeah, it probably works like the Magnovox Odyssey, the first games console ever. It had all the games inside and used what was essentially jumpers to tell the system what game to load. I almost want to buy this soulja system just to change the insides of the "cartridges" to see what different games I can get. Or, even simpler, I might be able to unlock all the games by modding the internals of the console itself.
Magnavox Odyssey was released in the 70s, word is that it was "the first home console". It did the exact same thing. Giving a false freedom of choice seems still feasible in some cultures, until it gets unvealed.
Exactly. There's a UA-cam video of someone modding theirs with a switch so they could use that to choose game screens instead of swapping carts. I had a variation of the PXP3 once that had only one cart, and it didn't even unlock new games at all -- it just changed the order of the current list around.
Honestly I would bet on that warning to not disassemble the system being there to keep people from modding it or figuring out how to access all the games.
TecToy is just...a really weird thing. I have a console called "master system 3" and a "master system portable plug and play", both made by tectoy, with good, working master system emulators in them. But i still find it really weird how after so, so many years, THE MASTER SYSTEM IS STILL BEING PRODUCED HERE IN BRAZIL. You can see these weird game collection emulators being sold in big stores here, while right next to it there's a ps4 or something lol. AND ALSO, for whatever reason, yes, woody is still real popular here. It´s still being broadcasted on tv, you can find toys and all kinds of bootleg products, and he even bacame a meme.
... It is popular because everyone is so poor overthere they can't afford anything else. And they also produced a woody movie overthere with Lassie from the psych tv series
kinda, man. The ones i have are almost 10 years old. Funny thing is almost every teenager or kid that i meet here has a ps4 or Xbox one. OH YEAH LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT THAT MOVIE
Substantially cheaper too, which ultimately highlights Sony's stupidity and greed with their proprietary memory card things for the Vita. A big reason why I still don't own a Vita is exactly this.
Well that is a valid criticism of the Vita, and I agree. The Vita itself was expensive to make, and is a sturdy, high quality handheld that cost a lot of money, both in building it, and the R&D that went into making it. So the memory cards were priced that way as an attempt to recoup the cost of selling the Vita at a loss, just like with the razor blade cartridges. This thing probably cost a couple dollars to build, and has a shelf life of a year if you're lucky, and will instantly break if it falls even 3 feet.
@@SakuraAvalon I have two PSPs, an original model and a 3000 and they're both still working well and hold a decent charge still from their original batteries. I have been wanting to get a Vita for a while now, mostly for the 2nd analogue stick but there's nothing yet that the Vita offers that my PSPs don't, well except the MGS HD Collection but that's literally the only Vita game I'm interested in and I already have that collection on PS3 anyway. I probably would have picked up a Vita by now if that memory cards weren't so expensive. I know they're much cheaper now than when the Vita was first released but I still don't think it's worth it yet.
@@leegsy well they did kinda get into some legal issues with the PSP due to the extremely high piracy... so it's generally thought to be more of a form of damage control. Having less internal storage forces pirates to have to buy the memory cards due to the lack of space, which turns most of said pirates away. Sadly, also means anyone who doesn't pirate have to deal with the super high price, but that's negated if you buy them physical. It's also why they're constantly updating the firmware (hell it just got a new one at the start of 2019), each new firmware update fixes exploits to either hinder or patch out henkaku (the only way to run Vita backups to date) completely. It's why TheFloW is waiting for the Vita to be officially discontinued before fully releasing henkaku for every single firmware update, cuz if he released it every time he finished it, Sony would just patch out the exploit. Most consoles are also sold at a loss and to make up for that, they rely game sales and addons (such as earpieces, cables, memory cards etc), cuz they don't exactly make these things cheap and selling them at the manufacturing price will be way too costly for most people to buy.

It would be interesting if someone took a look at the system's internal memory, to see if there are ways to access the other menus without needing the other bypass cartridges.
The dude could make some money if he actually took the time and money to develop his own console and get licenses for games, then sell at a discounted price. But he is going to take knockoffs and reselling them
17:26 The note says “You will pay for not having me invited to travel with you on your vacations. I kidnapped your friends and they…” (I had to use a bit of translation since I know Spanish but not Portuguese very well)
It's even using the same audio chip AtGames did, the RK2500. That's why the audio sounds the same. It's not as badly distorted on these knockoffs as on the AtGames system, though.
It's extremely likely that all of the games in this system are stored on a Micro SD card hidden inside. Before looking for any special cartridges, maybe just open the sucker up, and look for the card. It's also possible that you will be able to update the emulation software as well.
The cart probably has a pcb with no components that just has traces to the edge connector that short 2 pins on the cart connector to switch rom banks in the console, bit like the old 70`s tv games did. I would open up both carts and look at the traces, there is probably a common ground pin so you only need to work out what pins switch to what romset, which should be easy by comparing them. Sacrifice one cart, break the trace that isnt ground and connect a different pin to the 2 carts you have to ground until a new set appears. You could even get creative and fit some switches or buttons to select each one. They could be a bit cleaverer and connect say pin 2 to pin 5 for bank 1, pin 3 to pin 7 for bank 2 etc but it should still be easy to figure out.
So.... I live on Brazil and rented the Woody Woodpecker game... It's not the emulator that doesn't run fine. The game itself is garbo. On my whole life, this was one of two games I've went and exchanged it on the first day (the other one was a Megaman X6 copy that was bad and bosses didn't load). Mind you, I'm 31 and play games since being 6 years old.
Mr. Lawson He's Canadian so.... but Soccer is the 3rd biggest sport in north America and is forecast to become the 2nd biggest by overtaking Baseball in the near future.
The way those bypass carts work is just by jumping a specific set of pins on the "cartridge" port. You probably could activate all of the built-in games by shorting every combination of pins (or just vertical pairs of them) on boot.
I purchased this a couple of years ago out of curiosity at a petrol station near work...it worked for about 30 mins then completely died. I took it back the next day for a refund.
17:50 That's actually just a darker shade of the colour to give the effect that the tires are behind the tires on the front. Like they're darker from a slight shadow under the car. They had the right idea, too bad they had no talent.
Hey Rerez those cartridges you mentioned for this ? Those are probably just metal wire covered in a plastic shell shorting specific pins on the cartridge slot of the console itself too open other menu's y know something you could do by soldering a 3 way power button of some sort too those pins, while the console itself has like 256 mb - 1 gb of storage for said roms & os if it has any. Feel free too pry one apart & check if there is a pcb that shorts specific pins or if there is just wire going between pins too perhaps a small resistor or similar.
I have one of these and you are 100% correct. I modded mine to replace the cartridges with tactile switches that do the same thing the carts do. The emulation on my is actually pretty good. I compared the games he showed to the ones on mine and they play like they should. It's still a piece of crap but I've actually enjoyed mine without much frustration.
True. I used to own one and tore down the carts. Surprise surprise, no chip here! Tore the game system down, I got 2 switches that control which game it'll load. I also found memory chip and desoldered it, but I forgot what's that chip. Gotta dig my part bin. I used that shell of cartridge for flashdrive housing.
I swear to God, I have that EXACT same disc that came with that “SouljaGame Portable Screen”. It came with my own portable DVD player... with a shitty controller with a clunky excuse for a D-Pad, and four face buttons in a square pattern, as opposed to the standard diamond configuration. It does have quite a few well known games in there, including Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Contra, Metal Gear, Donkey Kong Jr. and Mario Bros.... which is listed as “Mr. Mary”, on the title screen. “I have _several_ questions...” - JonTron

Hi Rerez, the portuguese title of your translation is incorrect - it reads as if you translated every word of it individually instead of the whole phrase. A better translation would be "Os piores consoles do Soulja Boy de todos 2! - Rerez"
Soulja Boy (I don’t care if the spelling is accurate) comes off to me as an entitled moron who has looked at his obvious betters in his industry (Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Eminem, Kayne West, etc.), and decided that he deserves the same level of success they have accrued over their lifetimes in a much shorter span. He believes so strongly in this entitlement that he either puts no effort in or believes they put no effort into building their fortunes, hence the low effort in his various “offerings”. Think the Pacific Island cargo cults, going through the poorly emulated motions over and over again without understanding the steps or equipment or knowledge involved.
Sb has been around longer than you realise it seems. He's a 1 hit wonder from over 10 years ago that fell from mainstream after he started talking shit about American troops
You protest too much, Mr Graves. The four artists I specifically named have multiple decades in the industry (average starting year is somewhere in the 1990s for those four, Dr. Dre being the notable exception with an additional decade in the industry). SB has had an active “career” of less than two decades (Wikipedia says his career started in 2004). All four artists I specifically mentioned carefully branched out to other areas, and most of their extensive wealth (minimum of the four was Eminem at an estimated net worth above $120million) probably comes from those areas (varies by artist). SB lazily buys a bunch of knock-off consoles, charges a premium even Apple thinks is excessive, and expects the same level of success. Original point stands.
Obviously you don't know much if Wikipedia is where you base your info. Dre and Jay z have been around since the 80's. Yes Wikipedia says mid 90's for z but you think he just magically appeared at that time? Em has been at it for over 20 years now and those 3 all started before internet was readily accessible. Notice readily not when it was invented.

Dan Marino was in Ace Ventura. his nickname is Dan the Man. went to the superbowl his rookie year. Marios brother Luigi has a name that sounds nothing like Mario. So why would Mario's cousin? It's like Soulja Boy wanted to throw his hat into the video game industry but forgot that it would require him to create his own hardware. So by the time he'd set up the websites and the trademarks he realized that he needed a product to sell and just decided to sell someone else's (admittedly awful) hard work as his own.
My respect for the real PSVita has skyrocketed...

Gotta hand it to TecToy. They did more with less.

Hahah good idea in theory BUT who the FUCK would want to work in anyway shape or form with Soulja Boy...he is a moronic chump.
Rappers are clowns. What else did you expect?
crack open those carts and see what's in them.. it's probably simple circuits that unlock the games already in the console.
12:00
@@retrotasticular1642 Yep that's exactly how the first Magnavox worked but they were all basically different variations of PONG games.
Too late lol, there's already a mod to access all three lists with a switch.
I love this comment, always awesome to hear this kind of gaming news from other regions that not many UA-camrs get into!
The Woody Woodpecker movie got released in Brazil early, and didn't make it to the USA until 4-5 months later, right? He must be popular over there.
@@steelsunglasses4291 Indeed it is, just like Tom & Jerry is and El Chavo del 8.
Lmao the knockoff vita has more storage than the real one
@@leegsy theres something called Sd2Vita , but you need cfw (henkaku)

It's extremely likely that all of the games in this system are stored on a Micro SD card hidden inside. Before looking for any special cartridges, maybe just open the sucker up, and look for the card. It's also possible that you will be able to update the emulation software as well.
The menu looks like is ran on Genesis, so chances are its a system on a chip

Feel free too pry one apart & check if there is a pcb that shorts specific pins or if there is just wire going between pins too perhaps a small resistor or similar.

They could work like the game cards for the first console ever, which were jumpers that would tell the system which pre-installed game to play. quarterdisorder.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/odyssey-game-cards.jpg
Hi Rerez, the portuguese title of your translation is incorrect - it reads as if you translated every word of it individually instead of the whole phrase. A better translation would be "Os piores consoles do Soulja Boy de todos 2! - Rerez"
What a coincidence, I was gonna have dinner and this video popped out, thanks :)
What did you have for dinner?

@@NateTwoNinee Kanye is no moron and he has worked hard to achieve his success. You can hardly call that entitled.
@@jeffersongraves5295 Technically, he's had a few other hits. Still, that is beside the point...
