- Hi friends!
Here's a more in-depth video about my kitchen litho printing technique.
Recently, I started bringing pieces of foil with me to life drawing and drawing directly from the model. I print the foils later at home. and so far it has been very successful, albeit difficult!
This was a 15 minute pose. I printed with black ink on gampi, which will be chine collé backed on BFK when dry.
Comments, likes and follows are always appreciated!
By the way, I am now selling some of my original hand-printed artwork online. Feel free to check out

Happy holidays!
Fabulous. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Very informative video! Thank you for sharing your process in these videos!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Love it. I’m trying to get a really good hang of this process. ❤
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing Valerie! So would that mean one could vary the rubbing pressure so as to control light to dark areas?
To an extent, yes. You have to have a good sense of exactly where the image is dark vs. light, which, when using a thin, almost transparent paper like gampi is quite easy.
But in terms of controlling light areas, it’s really important (much more than pressure) not to let it fill in.
Great videos. How do you keep the foil from wrinkling? No matter what I do my heavy foil never lays flat. Spray mount helps a bit but can then get lumpy.
I only use tape on the corners to keep the foil in place while drawing. I use water to “glue” foil to plexi after etching. I find it easier to do after, because then I can adjust it without worrying about dirtying the surface.
Thank you, I’ll try it.
