The pede 4x4 is my favorite truck. I have a stock one and a modded out one that I lengthened using a slash 4x4 chassis. They don't make a lcg one however like you stated.
Great video as always! Waiting for my Stampede should get here monday... 6th RC but first monster truck fed up of not being able to go out in the snow with my current RC's (expt. my Axial...) Thanks for your advise!
Throw some Proline Trenchers on the Stampede VXL 4x4 and the truck is almost perfect. I agree, the best Monster Truck for under $500. It's "water proof" out of the box. Tons of aftermarket parts, motor upgrades, and tire/wheel options. Even the 2wd Stampede is a great starter R/C for kids just starting out.
Thank you for your advice!!!! I was pretty much convinced that the stampeded 4x4 VXL was the way to go, but it makes me feel better coming from you. I've been flying quad coppers recently, but trying to get back into trucks, and Boats maybe even dirt bikes. Lol. I just kept seeing videos talking about the way Traxxas used plastic parts instead of some type of metal parts for driveshafts, shock caps exedra. Please let me know if there is something you would suggest considering this point in time?? Maybe a particular model of 2015 / 16 to get the biggest bang for your buck??? Thanks again!!! John
Have you had any requests to review the veterra halix. Torn between the summit or a faster more traditional monster truck. Namely the pede 4x4 vxl or the halix. No good reviews on the halix yet... Love the videos!! Keep em comin!
I just picked up the Stampede vxl4x4 about a month ago, so far so good even in this Michigan weather. Your opinion on HPI electronics is not just your opinion it is a fact, the esc on my KB wr8 flux burned out also!
Stampede 4x4 vxl all the way 4 me. Put it on 3s and it rips. I even converted a slash 4x4 to a stampede so my son and I can both run together. Favorite spot Skatepark. Go big or go home. Btw love ur channel.
Ecx ruckus it has been awesome $240 for the 4x4 brushed but that gives you so many options to upgrade the system and still be less than the price of a stamped and have a better motor.
i just got the stampede regualr it was 300 and im a beginner i just wanted something that wouldnt get stuck in tall grass, i wanted the vxl but my wife wasnt havin it lol spending 500 on a rc truck is crazy let alone 350 to her so, do u think ill be alright or am i gonna wanna upgrade very very soon??
I would get the E-REVO if you have the money. Nitro's are nice, but you have to tune them. I've had them, and they're a pain. Try ebay for a good used one. It will save you a lot of money. I got mine brushed for $300.00, and it was almost new. Try to go brushless if you can. It's you're choice.
Really like all these trucks can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add powerful batteries and charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
"One of the biggest jumps you'll ever make is from brushed to brushless and the other is from 2wd to 4wd" I laughed when I heard that because I started this hobby with a brushless slash 4x4
Hey, I bought the stampede vxl 2wd about 2/3 years ago and now I can see that it would have been worth getting the 4wd version. I have barely made any upgrades to it and I am not experienced in RC modifications. However would there be a way of converting the 2wd version into 4wd?
I like a lot of the trucks your talking about I'll tell ya one thing my dhk zombie is a good bashing truck I got it in sale for 290 you should check it out and it's 1/8! And it has a bunch of aluminum parts stock
I agree. The stampede has such a great aftermarket support in any city, no waiting for a month to get whatever part you want. I have upgraded the tires to proline badlands. I wonder if I love this truck more than my wife. I have driven in snow, ice, mud, deep puddles, up steep hills in those conditions and it always surprises me how capable the four wheel drive is, and how eager the instant torque is slammed down by the magnificent velineon motor. I think this truck was secretly made by Elon Musk as pet project to make the perfect electric RC. I highly recommend this beauty of truck to anyone thinking of trying out RC'ing.
I got a few team associated MGT trucks.. I got the 3.0 the 4.6 and the 8.0 and the tmaxx 2.5 with a spec 4 .32 engine it's a bad ass truck. But out of all my RC trucks my favorite rc is my MGT 3.0 it's a large one 1/10 scale nitro monster truck original pro 18 engine runs 40mph stock. But I upgraded it alot kept the original engine but rebuilt it with race parts and now runs 79.6 mph it's fast as hell. You most deff need to find a MGT 3.0 you may love it. I got mine for 50 bucks and on eBay it is 700 bucks so I made out like a bandit. I'm not to big on electric unless it's a axiel mud slinger / rock crawler with super swampper tires that look realistic... My nitro trucks have the realistic look to them with the rims and tires lights ect except nitro trucks are way better then electric in my opinion.. I dunno it's just how I feel. Gas engines have more power and more reliable to me.. I want a nitro rock crawler I may end up making one lol
terremoto 10 v2 is an awesome truck under 300 I've had a stampede and the terremoto is better per former durability is good it also handles a 3s with no problems big bangs little bucks
My favourite R/C (and only ): ) is the traxxas slash 4x4 with onboard audio. Ive beaten the crap out of the thing and i love it. I am saving up for a new R/C. What kind should i get?
Can you please do a review on the Helion Invictus? I got one for my son and so far it's been a great truck. It's fairly new to the market so the parts support isn't the greatest, but hoping it will improve as it gains popularity. I'm curious what you think about it and the other viewers. Thanks for all the other reviews you've done!!!
In less words someone can say what's the difference (in use) between 2 or 4 wd? I have a ruckus 4wd, and I'm interested into buy a slash 2wd. I'll find much difference? (I like to ride everywhere). THANK YOU
The BEST Monster Truck under 500 bucks was the Thunder Tiger MT4 G3... Even now at 588 bucks is still one of the best Monster Trucks ever made... Save your money for the extra 88 bucks.. Nothing will come close for less money. You can get these deals on it out of Ebay: 599 bucks w/free Shipping and a 3S LiPO or 299 bucks for the Roller with no Tires and Build it up yourself with better electronics. The Sub-500 bucks Category of Monster Trucks are nice and all.. But nothing beats a TRUE 1/8th Scale Monster Truck. Not an 1/10th oversized truck that will most likely break.
***** It is! a pal of mine got one, Its amazing how much value you get for the money with the Kraton 6S Altough I dont think a truggy with bigger tires count as a Monster Truck.
The traxxas stampede is great I ran into multiple problems Tho the axles would break really easily when driving especially the rear will need to purchase metal I never got around to it the tires came UN glued I super glued and it had a massive wobble and the body pins in the rear broke through the shell easy all on first day of play.but when I put a venom 11.1 v 5000mah 50 c battery it was so crazy fat I took air comeiin up the drive way and flew like 50 feet and almost hit the window on the house
also considering things like 1/16 revo brushed. stampeed 2wd, rustler 2wd.. "no pattern there" but the latrax teton would be cheapest and 4wd and considering its probably not going to be well taken care of..
What about Redcat I have the Volcano EXP and it is great right out the box I am going to upgrade to the brushless Motor other than that the truck really rocks
I don't completely disagree with your choice, but you talked up the Stampede 4x4 a little too much for what it is. I have one too and it's not that great. I mean, it's good and it's good value for money, but it's not that great... Plus, this review is kinda dated... You need to get your hands on the Vaterra Halix and then see if the Stampede is still all that & bag of chips. To me the Stampede has poor tires, a really thin a crappy body and the well known problem of the soft and weak driveshafts. Not to mention, out of the box, it's not that fast... All that said, out of all the trucks you mentioned, I'm happy with your choice of the Stampede 4x4 VXL.
Got to agree, the Stampers 4x4 does leave you with a sense of dissatisfaction. It handles just as awkward as the Slash4x4, and I have no idea how they can make a truck that unstable in a straight line. However, I am going to disagree with Jeremy too... I believe the Stampede VXL (yes, the 2wd) is top of the tiny heap. Faster, handles better and EVERYTHING over the 4x4. But, RWD is apparently an acquired taste...
I agree as well! You missed a few other trucks out there. You never even ran your new Ruckus, which handles way better than a 2wd pede. Not to mention trucks like the Invictus, NitroRCX Bowie, Redcat Sandstorm truck plus so many more! I understand that this is your opinion and what you have tested, but change the title of your video as it is misleading to newbee's as there are many trucks out there that cost less than the Pede VXL. Also, the new bushed pede is not a LCG, I have one and have several videos on my channel.
AussieRCPlayground Stampede is not that great?! Obviously you need to go watch Ultimate RC Shapeshifter, where Jang (the undisputed #1 RC reviewer) turns this RC into numerous configurations
I agree with Vas. I have had both and I think the Halix stock, is better than the Pede 4x4. If we removed the $100 bump due to AVC, the Halix still blows away the Pede 4x4. But AVC is pretty badass and I still vote Halix.
no the bulite mt and st or adout 350 the stamped 4x4 is 450 big diffrins but im more of a hpi guy any way but i respect your opinion and iv never ran a stamped 4x4 any way so i wud not know

This needs an update. The Stampede is really a $400 truck with about an $80 "Traxxas Tax". If this truck were $400 it would be untouchable. Currently there are too many REALLY good trucks at $500. Pede is a good truck but its $80 too pricey.
Stampede 4x4 has always been my favorite go to truck & hasn't ever let me down.
i would get one but i think they look stupid there body is lifted way too high and tires are too small
Joseph170 upgrade wheels plus change the body and your golden i have one and i agree with mtctookie25 its a awesome truck never let me down either!!!!
jose viveiros well i'm looking away from it because i have a slash 4x4.. there essentially the same truck.. just ones shorter and taller..
jose viveiros
The truck is like a Timex watch...lol
thanks, i just bought a stampede vxl 4x4 because of this video and i love it
Great review. How do you feel about the Vaterra Halix?
Thannk you very much for buying and making videos and reviews for the stampede 4x4 vxl because of your videos i am getting one
i have the vxl 4x4 pede too.

lol This made my day I'm used to seeing you on MTG HQ...Stoked to see you love RC as well
very helpful!!! cant wait for the next vid
Have you ever done anything with the ruckus 4x4 AVC brushless?
The pede 4x4 is my favorite truck. I have a stock one and a modded out one that I lengthened using a slash 4x4 chassis. They don't make a lcg one however like you stated.

Can you please review the Exceed Rc 6x6 crawler
I agree, It's really hard to beat a stampede 4x4.

My first truck is and was the 4x4 stampede vxl..i bash it hard and it runs like a champ..

Nice Idea! The background, the video quality and the somewhat defensive beginning I think could have been better
i completely agree , 4x4 stampede rocks
Dude First rcnightmare vid ive ever watched, and HAIR TO THE MAAXXXXX!!!! Nice vids tho.
Could tou do a 2wd top 5 ??

You have put a end to my search for a basher

I'm curious about it too
I got a used stampede XL-5 and put a used Vilenion system and it is great. So you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good stampede.
good intro
i have i stampede 2 wd and that thing is slo very good! i mean if u dont really care for 4wd then go with the 2wd vxl it is great for a beginer !
In less words someone can say what's the difference (in use) between 2 or 4 wd?

However, I am going to disagree with Jeremy too... I believe the Stampede VXL (yes, the 2wd) is top of the tiny heap. Faster, handles better and EVERYTHING over the 4x4. i was highly confused as i was pretty sure there was not a lcg stampede as well lol
great video, but i think there r two price points...$300, and $550+ imo
what we really need??? is a video of your favorite/best bang for your buck 1/16models. These are the most common entry level by far
How many channels do have?
Vaterra Halix over the stampede 4x4 anyday !
have to agree and now mip came out with a new drive shaft for that halix.
I have a couple of 8yr old Nitro Revos I need to get rid of. Where is the best place to sell them now?

nitro Stampede 4x4 or t-maxx 3.3
Stampede. I'm just saying this off experience. I'm none to say that a T-Maxx is bad, since I've never driven one.
4x4 stampede only is $350 where I am. My friend got one and it works greaay

This needs an update. The Stampede is really a $400 truck with about an $80 "Traxxas Tax". If this truck were $400 it would be untouchable. Currently there are too many REALLY good trucks at $500. Pede is a good truck but its $80 too pricey.
