I bought the black dial version with patina lume on its initial release, and just had the bracelet arrive today. In my opinion the taper is perfect, as it keeps the clasp size and weight distribution correct. The on-the-fly clasp is sublime! I also love the 38mm size as it suits my 6¾" wrist. I'm also not fussed about lack of bezel lume triangle, white paint means it will always stay cleaner 😎
Great to hear, glad you like the bracelet. Like I said, everything is subjective. I would love to see it at 40mm with a 20mm bracelet that tapers to 20, or even a 22mm bracelet that tapers to 18. Probably will never happen but the watch and bracelet are very well made and very attractive.
It’s nice to hear from someone that had a 65 as well, which I used a direct comparison in this video. I think Oris makes a great product, but for a vintage looking no crown diver, I feel this Vulcain has it beat, especially with the addition of the bracelet.
@@watchreport I had the regular Arabic dial 65, none of the special editions and all that. I personally think it wore way bigger than 40mm which ultimately I felt didn't suit the style of the watch. I owned it for 4 years before getting the vulcain and the vulcain imo blows it away.
Great classic looking watch with a very well done retro style. The bracelet looks unique and it’s good to hear not form over function. I wish makers would offer their watches in at least two sizes. 38 and 42mm. The smallest to the largest wrist could deal with those sizes. I personally don’t go below 42mm with a larger wrist.
@@simipusu7930 well I don’t have a thin wrist but there are comments here on this video that say they do and have the bracelet and it fits them. It’s a thin tapering bracelet, so I imagine it should be fine on a thin wrist. Check the Vulcain website and see their return policy before you order. 👍
I went for that exact watch. For me this is one of the best every day (except very formal events) watches. Size, thinness, color, price, design, materials, movement, bracelet. This is my pick of a sub $2000 every day watch. What is yours if it is a different choice?
I am surprised you are not a fan of full tapering brackets (4mm or more of taper). Is it because you prefer beefier watches and/or, like me, you come from that older era of post 2000s watches where bracelets only tapered 2mm or none at all? For me, a drastic tapering bracelet offers superior comfort and wrist articulation.
I do come from that older era but I have grown to appreciate smaller watches and tapered bracelets but I think here it’s the come of the small diameter of the watch and the drastic taper combined. I think if it only tapered to 18 or if it was a 40 with a 20mm to 18 taper I would like it much more. As it is, it feels too thin for my liking though it was very pleasant to wear.
As much as I think I can pull it off I still would love at least a 40mm, if not 41. I personally don’t see this in a size larger than that as to me it would be too big for the vintage style but that of course is purely subjective.
Very nice but a bit to small 42mm and I'd buy i am a big man and it would be very small on my wrist people come in different sizes why not watches how many sales are lost because a watch is to small or to big people should be able to pick the size that suits them
@@michaelkilbride2927 in a perfect world yes, but that costs money to create all those different sizes and with how many watch brands out there, just not feasible.

Agree with you 100% and I have the same wrist size as you. This is the perfect size for us.
I've had this watch on a tropic for the last year.. looks like it's time to grab the bracelet. It looks fantastic.
@@creepshow5144 seeing as you had it a year now, I assume you really like it, but I tell you the bracelet is a game changer for this watch.
@@watchreport yes, I've been a fan since it came out. The finishing really is what kept it in my collection. Sold my 65 and never looked back.

@@wrx2sti409 agreed completely on sizes. They would sell a lot of these in a 41 or 42mm.
That bracelet is so freakin cool!!
the bracelet is so cool love the chunky links look like puzzle pieces lol
Hello! I want this model of bracelet because I own a Vulcain skindiver, but I am not convinced if this model folds well on a thin wrist.

have just ordered one at my dealer to try it on... can't imagine I'm gonna walk out of there without it..
Awesome! Hope you get it and enjoy it.
Bracelet is perfect, taper is perfect.
Unique bracelet

It wears bigger due to the small bezel width
we want the cricket
Hopefully I’ll get one in for review one day. Tell others to make some noise here that they want a Watch Report review of the Vulcain Cricket. 👍

Nice, had it on the wrist, but too small. Give us a 42 to 44mm and I'm all in.

Beautiful watch, lots of history but no lume on the bezel markers is a no-go imo.
Nice looking watch, but not worth the money.

Yea $1900? That’s insane
It’s not 2019 anymore :/
