I bought a black dial version. It was one of the the greatest moments of my life as I saved 10 years to buy that watch. I flew from Amsterdam to London and took a coffee after 3 hours went back. Now I can do a little research and hopefully find out what what she is worth.
How did you grow your portfolio to $55m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?
Idk I wouldn't consider an IWC Portugieser Chronograph to be a watch you "should just buy" without a second thought... It looks a lot like a fashion brand watch and doesn't have any chronograph / racing / space history like many other chronos at lower and higher price points.
Funny thing is I visited a pre-owned watch dealer and 3 out of 5 watch trays mainly just had Rolexes. And most selling for retail price or under. So many being dumped in the grey market!
Having 2 dreams, 1st to start my watch brand. 2nd Andrew Morgan 🐐, the first to review my brand collection. I consider this comment as the biggest step to make my dreams comes true 🤞
I am fortunate to have a small eight watch collection, my favourite is my late Fathers 1972 Seiko 5 with a blue face, my Mother purchased it with her first Salary working for MOD which was remarkable as she had Polo from three years old and spent her life in a Wheelchair, being a Woman in the 1970s in MOD was hard enough as it was, I had the watch serviced and cleaned, and it looks like new. ❤
"The work we love -- the hand jobs -- is what's needed to finish." This is why Andrew is the GOAT! I burst out laughing while out riding the subway on that one.
Andrew Morgan is the Dave Chapelle of UA-cam watch personalities. You come for the watch recommendations, but you stay for the interesting puns and digressions.
I just gotta say that you are one of my favorite reviewers on UA-cam. I haven't reviewed a watch in a couple of years even though I have purchased a few but I rather watch channels like this. Keep up the great work!
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Love to see Dan Royter's work on here, still regretful I didn't pick up one of those when they were a little cheaper than they are now. Stupendous value though.
I went for the Shunbun about 1.5 years ago and while I still often wish that it was a bit more pink it is a fantastic watch. Dornbluth sounds pretty cool, and had not heard of Royter before but now I am interested!
Great job, and humorous delivery. I really didn't think Andrew would find success so quickly with his own channel, but I was wrong. I can't wait for a new post.
I jumped and had to rewind when you gave a shout out to Hyun Bin and Crash Landing on You. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I was just completely caught of guard, LOL.
I bought the Chopard a few years ago with a 35% discount, fantastic watch. On the wrist it looks as good as anything you can buy. The movement is the only place where you can see where the money has been saved over the pp or ap. Never had even a tinge of regret buying it.
@@AndrewMorganWatches since going independent you’ve created some of the most authentic and batshit crazy watch content on UA-cam. These AMW videos are a classic template for any who wish to engage and hold an horological onlooker’s interest . Awesome video. I love Monta, oak and Oscar, studio underdog and Baltic. They are awesome. However I also agree that Trafford should have taken the cake. Great video.
This has to be the funniest post I have seen you put on here yet. You are truly the Rodney Dangerfield of watch reviewers. Soooooo many incredible one liners that I lost count. Thank you Andrew for all your reviews and channel. You made my day! LOL!!!!!
I picked up the SRPK89, the new black SNXS from an Australian AD on a VIP off for AUD399 or USD265 a week or two ago and it has barely left my wrist. It is an absolute joy to wear on my 7.5” wrist 🖤
Wow that Royter DR-02 is nice and first time in ages I have not heard of a brand before in the watch world. Anyone know what type of cutting/engraving tool he was using in the video? Cut like butter through the metal from 18:08 onwards.
I like your videos, they contain humour, are well written and expertly delivered. This video was no exception, except the funniest thing you said in this, was the price of the Cartier Quartz. That made me laugh out loud. Well played. Good job I don't need to go to the bank for a mortgage.
In 2000 I was new watch hunting that and the IWC Portugieser was on my short list. It made it to the semi final. Iirc It was msrp £3,195 which was about the same as the concurrent Daytona with the Zenith el Primero movement. Back then the Daytona was the only Rolex you couldn’t walk into a dealer and buy. The rest you could get 9% off. How times change. I went in another direction altogether but still love the Portugieser Chronograph.
As one of the people who most definitely "has trouble remembering a single number for an entire day" I wish the watch enthusiast community would slow down the crusade against dates. I wish I could live without one since no date dials look better for the most part. Unfortunately, when I wear a no date watch I keep looking at it for the date all day and get frustrated. There is no universal truth in this debate. You either want one or don't.

Along with three other Grand Seiko's. The thing is that I have many watches, including a Santos and Nomos, but I am really hard pressed to come up with a reason to strap anything else than a Grand Seiko on my wrist every day.

The IWC Portugieser Chrono is under appreciated and under valued. Such a beautiful classic piece.
Dornblūth is the star of this video.
I agree wholeheartedly, an absolute gem of a watch. One day….
Absolutely. I’m on the list. Can’t wait to get mine.
Didn't even know about this brand, first time hearing about it and intrigued
Reminders of Dave Allen ...... and that's one heck of a compliment Andrew.
Grand Seiko... That's exactly the color of the cherry blossom. The lightest pink possible, almost pure white.
Thanks a lot for keeping up the spirit!
Andrew Morgan is the Dave Chapelle of UA-cam watch personalities. You come for the watch recommendations, but you stay for the interesting puns and digressions.
Oh that Amber Heard bit had me LOL
Outstanding writing & a fantastic selection of watches. Particularly the (mostly) unknown Dornbluth. Best UA-cam content there is!
at home and doing my daily winding of my Dornbluth. Long wait but worthwhile

That Seiko and IWC are my choices! A real beater and one for the moments!
And as great as the Alpine Eagle, it's greatest attribute is the fact that Chopard know which way the VI should go.

The Grand Seiko SBGA413 is pronounced “shoon boon” as in “moon” instead of the short vowel in “sun” despite the funny spelling of Shunbun.
i was pleased when he said "Suyosa" instead of "Chuyosa" like other reviewer but it seems my boy still got a long way to go lol
Unfortunately his pun of "not shunning the bun" wouldn't work then... he'd have to say "don't shoo the boon".. which actually makes sense.
If it is shunbun then you have absolutely no clue about the language.
