Great reveiw, thanks. Hopefully this watch will be my 1st watch 0f 2024, love skin divers and this looks perfect, great movement, not too big , no horrible date wheel and a brand with proper history.
Obsessing with Vulcain lately, actually loving their whole model range. But it’s the Chronograph standing out most to me, because I don’t have one yet mostly. And a speedmaster moonwatch has been my grail for quite some time, until the Carrera glassbox game out that is. Vulcain actually has some of the details I like about the glassbox for a fraction of the price, mainly the ability to buy a panda or reverse panda with the contrasting sub dials. Good job Vulcain! I’m saving up for it now!
Really well exicuted watch. I've been on the fence with buying one since I first got wind of this model earlier this yr. Can't decide between the eye popping salmon dial, or the classic black. If the price was $1200 or so i would have already bought it. But at its price point it has too much competition.
I agree, drilled lugs would put this over the top. It is a very good looking watch. It would be a good companion to my Seuko SJE093. Too bad that purchase dried up my watch funds.
Heya. Love your video (the exact configuration I want so plenty of good air time). But I thought to myself that mars is actually the Roman hod of war, so looked it up. “In Roman mythology, Vulcan (also known as Vulcanus) is the god of fire, metalworking, and the forge. He is the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Hephaestus. Vulcan, often depicted as a skilled blacksmith and craftsman, is known for his ability to forge weapons, armor, and other metal creations.” Makes sense for a name for watchmaking I think!
@@LastWatch A poster on Watchuseek took the caseback off and found that it was a basic elabore, which was confirmed by Vulcain. They added just the Incabloc to the basic movement so they could keep the text on the dial.
I have one sonce one year. Really great watch and size proportions. What annome a lot is the ceramic bezel. It looks too shiny, too modern and ruins the watch for me
@@LastWatch Hard to say, I'd have to look into both in more detail (things like power reserve, how the lume compares, relative thickness, etc...) but the Oris does have more options and also an inexpensive bracelet upgrade. On the other hand the Vulcain is much more uncommon, so that's a plus for Vulcain. I prefer bigger cases though for sports watches, typically 42mm+.
There were so many diving watches with this very same aesthetic in the 60s, hard to say who copied who, especially when they were all buying cases from the same manufacturers and slapping their dials and movement in them.
Beautiful watch! Gotta get this in blue
That is my new favorite dive watch, absolute perfection
The 2824 version of the Skindiver is the "TOP", since it incorporates the "Incabloc" shockproof protection!

If they could get it under a grand it would be perfect but it’s priced against the competition
So wish we could get these in Australia, absolutely gorgeous. Nice job showing it off :)
Will they not ship
@@LastWatch yes this will be the last resort, just can’t beat handling in person first 🙂 But your review helped with that.
This is a beauty. I’ve just ordered the blue model. Waiting for stock to arrive.
I’ll be honest, I’ve not taken it off my wrist for the last 2 months, my other watches are jealous
Yep awesome watch

You may want to check out the Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster, a watch I was sad to send back after review
I really, REALLY wish this had a bracelet.
That would be the icing on the cake
Not for me haha😅
They have made a bracelet for it.
@@chia-mingyang5804 I am aware!
They did and it looks pretty cool
Great review. Love the vintage look.
As do I

Lets hope they discount it, that would work a treat, the blue is very nice.
No reason to buy this over a Rado Captain Cook especially considering you can get decent discounts grey market on the CC.
Rado are bigger though
Seiko wishes they made this watch
SJE093
I agree, drilled lugs would put this over the top. It is a very good looking watch. It would be a good companion to my Seuko SJE093. Too bad that purchase dried up my watch funds.
I wouldnt complain, the Seiko is a fantastic watch, well done on your purchase
Great video and great watch :)
However, Vulcan was the God of fire ;)
So ive been told, thanks
Great review 👍
I appreciate the history. I'm a fan of Skindiver.
I love a bit of research to let customers know what they are buying into

Brilliant Alex, let me know how you get on with vulcain
Smaller dive watches are hot right now!
Vitage sizes
What a cool watch. 😍
Cool and hot at the same time
Wow... Just wow!
My thoughts exactly
Does anyone have a bracelet in mind to put this on? How does this compare to the Baltic Aquascaphe?
Good question, if Baltic would like to send me the Aquascaphe to compare, I would be very thankful
I'm guessing L refers to Luminova.
Possibly, that would explain one L not two, unless they did it for balance
@@LastWatch Panerai does it like this as well, two Ls for Luminova…and on older dials, two Ts for Tritium.
I like the fact that it dose not have stick on hour markers.
Too expensive for me though.
I found a very nice -£500 skin diver whilst doing my research that I might get in for a review
is that dust on the dial? quite a lot
The dial is clean, could be on the crystal
It is bit sad that, as with the Oris Divers 65, the lume is not so good.
The lume is pretty decent
hold on, so no warranty only unless checked in two years? uhh
It has a warranty which will be extended if checked after the 2 years
That watch has either a regulated 2824 or an elabore”
I would agree but don’t want to take the caseback off to find out
Top Grade!

Would be great in copper.
I thought that trend had passed
@@LastWatch I really wouldn't know. I was just imagining how it would've been in copper. In my mind it looks great.
They released a copper version
I have one sonce one year. Really great watch and size proportions. What annome a lot is the ceramic bezel. It looks too shiny, too modern and ruins the watch for me
It keeps it fresh but does take away from that vintage vibe
@@LastWatch decided to sell mine
It's great but expensive... 1500 Euro without tax. North of a thousand? That North is too far. Nivada for me then.
Great video production.
Nivada is a good shout and they are connected
If it only had a date complication.
Nooooooo !
Almost identical to the Oris Divers Sixty Five.
Which would you choose

Oris 65 looks like a pizza.....

@@Chef_Alpo Oris copy Vulcain.
Original Vulcain is anterior than Oris model . no way.
The “L” mean luminova
Ooh maybe
This is what the Oris Diver 65 should have been for a vintage diver. Great size.
It wears beautifully
38 mm is too small
What exactly is that ?
@FurkanCemTurfanda The trend is towards smaller size vintage style watches. The days of Panerai size watches are over.
@@Alex-Rainmaker 42 is perfect, not oversized. 38 looks like a toy on a man's wrist.
Umm no you don't "round up" on the strap width. LOL
Why not
@@LastWatch Because it would be scrunched up and look bad. You can easily find 19mm straps.
Drilled lugs and Acrylic crystals are a huge miss
But the fauxtina …. No.
It's my achilles heel
They have now a version without the fauxtina, needless to say… I have put down my name ;)
