It's funny when you were describing the engine problem I thought of Vapor Lock right away! I had that issue with my 51 Pontiac it was always crapping out at the wrong time. =D That Transom saver is a fantastic idea, I never saw that before. So many transoms are over-stressed and crack due to the heavy motor bouncing. Do you have a Bimini top? They really make a difference in the summer keeping the sun off of you and the family... Great stuff!
We don't have a bimini top, but that would be nice for sunny days. From what I was told the engine has a low pressure fuel pump (4psi) and a high pressure pump that steps up the pressure at the injector. The manufacturer changed something with the fuel delivery and apparently there are a few bugs to work out.

The webbing hanging down is for dock bumpers, so you don't scratch the boat.
