I just bought an AlumaCraft 1875 Competitor in 2023 with a Suzuki 150.... Love it! Great boat, easy to tow, easy to load with a roller trailer, great fishing boat and just a little over $54K with trolling motor, captains chair, and graph. My only recommendation is to add the suspension seat and lithium batteries right away. I waited a year and should have done it sooner. Thanks for making great videos !

Been fishing out of a Lund rebel 1650 for a number of years. Its the easiest boat to fish out of! Easy to launch and load on trailer. Easy to tow down highway or in town. Love it!

I love my Lund 1875 Bass. Tall decks for fishing, deep cockpit for kids, comfortable old man chairs and flip up seats for company. 60 mph with the 200. Great boat.

I just bought a Lund 1875 Impact XS. Wife, kid, dog, friends all want a sports top, side curtains, plenty of room, windshield, safety, catch fish and ski. Agree, these boats are going to be very popular moving forward. Very light weight too, easy to tow and can reach 50mph with a 150hp. Sips gas.

This "DAD" has the 18' alumacraft competitor. I was at a boat show, and they're all the same boat. I got wave wackers, vantage, terrova, radio, cover, and helix 10 for cheaper than a stock Lund.

Accurate evaluation imo. I went through this process in 2020 it came down to the Alumacraft competitor 185 and the Lund Pro Guide. I gave up on the Crestliner because I couldn’t get it packaged with a Yamaha where I’m at. So I went to a dealer that sold both Lund and Alumacraft and I had both boats sitting right next to each other. I asked the dealers both long time customers why pay 5k for the Lund? They said it basically comes down to the name. Lund has slightly better fit and finish but slightly. The showed me that the trailers were basically identical one with post load guides which I prefer (Alumacraft) and the other with Roller Guides (Lund) both ShoreLandr identical models. The Lund trailer was a $1000 more at the time. So I came to the same conclusion as you and went with the Alumacraft.

Stepping from a 33 year old 16-1/2' Alumacraft to a brand new 17'-10" Lund this year. Alumacraft is still solid after all these years but wife wanted a little bigger boat for grandkids and I wanted a FourStroke motor because they are so much quieter.

I’m sure it’s just the area you’re in but here in the south aluminum bay boats are the future. Xpress, Excel, and Avid will be replacing Ranger, Triton, and Skeeter. Making the same models in aluminum and they’re selling like crazy. Mainly the bay boats but even their bass boats are slowly taking over

I bought a 1996 19’ alumacraft competitor with a 90hp tiller mercury in very good shape for 5500. completely rewired it, put 2 garmin 93sv, livescope, and a 80pd terrova. Right around 9k into it and it’s been the best decision I ever made. Will have it for a long time.

Love the videos! I watch them all! But I think the ultimate do everything dad boat is .. a nice aluminum full windshield 17’6” fish and ski boat. I have a 2002 princecraft pro sport 176 with a 02 mercury (yamaha) 115 four stroke efi.. it’s quite, sips fuel, still hits over 40 mph, witch is a great size for the the body of water that I live on witch is the ottawa river up north in Ontario. I’m that boat guy the one that has lots of random boats of all shapes and sizes lovish and enjoy working on all them at times lol , huge fan of the suzuki and Yamahas, I’m the guy that enjoys watching these kinds of videos!! Keep up the good work!!

I had the alumacraft 185 comp tiller with 90 sho decent boat. Fished some walleye tournaments. Loved having the kids in front of me where I could see them. Only really have 2 complaints. Carpet came loose everywhere and the boat was awful in the wind. Now have the pro-v 2075 bass which I consider a multi species boat also. I’ll let you know how the pro-v bass holds up and fishes

LOL - I love my dad boat! ‘04 Lund 1800 Adventure SS 1800. Them tin boats ARE the best all around-ers for families, no doubt about it. Couldn’t give me a bass boat; not enough room. Does it all with the entire family onboard; fish, tube, joy ride, grilling on the island and everything else while just slowly sipping the fuel! Gotta say though a single counsel or other option with midship controls is a better functional option with everyone plus the dog onboard for one big reason - visibility. It’s critical on these upper Mississippi River pools that you can see where you’re going on the channel and what the other boaters are doing around you; especially true on pool 8 when I’m out weekend warrior-ing it. By the way, wife had been pissing in the rear livewell for years when the water temp is too cool to dip in of the boarding ladder! LOL! These boats do it all. A Crestliner Sportfish 2050 is the ultimate dream dad-boat with 3 comfortable seating rows behind the windshield (full bench in rear) seating 9 easily. Where’s the military discount Crestliner?????

I’ve been shopping Lund’s 1875 PG against Alumacraft’s 185 Comp Tiller for years. Finally bought a Lund as the I felt the layout is better specifically around the rear live well and front pedestals.
Alumacraft at the dealer has gaps between the walls and floor.
When I bought they were the same price so no brainer on going with the Lund

As with all newer ones of anything quality has suffered. My clients still won't believe me when I tell them my pro v tiller is near 30 in age and has had 3 motors and two floors done over and guess it age initially as 5-7 years old, having a new 4 stroke 200 hanging on a rock solid transom help the looks.
guess it like a boob job and face lift on a 45 year old, makes em look younger.

I built those Manitou Pontoons with the under board. I was a welder for them and let me tell you how trash those boats are from the ground up. 10:36 The welders building these care enough to join metal and that's it. The whole assembly line cuts corners. It's honestly sad how little that company gave a shit. And they laid off around 250 people to move production to Mexico.

@Lip Ripper Not very popular down here but I could see some definite advantages in a smaller rig. I had no idea they made them at that HP level.

Lund makes a good boat. And good video, Now the ikon boat secret is what the deal with the center storage nobody wants to see or talk about. Having a yacht corp. involved must be something special in there like umm a miniature seakeeper. just guessing based on the videos I have seen the boat is very stable under power.

Great video overall, but $43 K for an 18' aluminum boat is nothing short of lunacy!!!
Aluminum cracks over time. It even happens to "quality" aluminum wheels for cars over time. And really??!?!… Tiller??!??!? For that kind of money they could at least include a decent mechanical steering system. There's no excuse for not including one at these absurd prices.
$63 K is even more insane!!!
Aluminum boats have always been the ECONOMICAL alternative to fiberglass boats and none of these are even close to economical.
I wish you'd call some of these companies out for overcharging as outrageously as they do and then skimp out and leave you with a Tiller?!?? Oh joy!… Not!

I have a 82 lund that is water tight, no cracks or leaky rivets. There are lots of those old lunds still in use today

I love my 1995 1775 Pro V Dlx with the Johnson 150 and 15 kicker... bought it brand new... had to replace the rotted wood transom, rotted wood decking... Lund and Crestliner both made by Brunswick Corporation New York Mills, MN... I took my Lund up to New York Mills to have them fix the transom for $1500. my dealer wanted $3,000. for the rotted transom. I asked them why don't they use something that won't rot out in the transom... So dumb... now I see that Lund is now using a synthetic product in the transom so that it won't rot... Now they figure it out...

Another great video guys! Ill have to stir the pot maybe get my banned T lol
I made the switch to a 19 ft mirrocraft aluminum with a tiller with rigged it with 3 106sv licescope and minnkota up front a few yrs ago and I would honestly never go back to a bass boat. Yeah I don't get the speed or the sparkles but the fishability is awesome and it doesn't cost me 250 bucks to fill after fishing a tournament

This is my twenty second year of running a lund big tiller. Tillers are not for everyone. You better not mind getting wet and when the mercury drops ( not the motor , they do suck) it's a very cold ride. Why do I buy Lund? Best resale value.
