I just bought an AlumaCraft 1875 Competitor in 2023 with a Suzuki 150.... Love it! Great boat, easy to tow, easy to load with a roller trailer, great fishing boat and just a little over $54K with trolling motor, captains chair, and graph. My only recommendation is to add the suspension seat and lithium batteries right away. I waited a year and should have done it sooner. Thanks for making great videos !
Been fishing out of a Lund rebel 1650 for a number of years. Its the easiest boat to fish out of! Easy to launch and load on trailer. Easy to tow down highway or in town. Love it!
I love my Lund 1875 Bass. Tall decks for fishing, deep cockpit for kids, comfortable old man chairs and flip up seats for company. 60 mph with the 200. Great boat.
I just bought a Lund 1875 Impact XS. Wife, kid, dog, friends all want a sports top, side curtains, plenty of room, windshield, safety, catch fish and ski. Agree, these boats are going to be very popular moving forward. Very light weight too, easy to tow and can reach 50mph with a 150hp. Sips gas.
I have a 05 Crestliner 1860 with a Yamaha 90hp and a MinnnKota maxxum, matching Garmin 93sv units,it has been an absolute amazing boat, no problems to date.
This "DAD" has the 18' alumacraft competitor. I was at a boat show, and they're all the same boat. I got wave wackers, vantage, terrova, radio, cover, and helix 10 for cheaper than a stock Lund.
Accurate evaluation imo. I went through this process in 2020 it came down to the Alumacraft competitor 185 and the Lund Pro Guide. I gave up on the Crestliner because I couldn’t get it packaged with a Yamaha where I’m at. So I went to a dealer that sold both Lund and Alumacraft and I had both boats sitting right next to each other. I asked the dealers both long time customers why pay 5k for the Lund? They said it basically comes down to the name. Lund has slightly better fit and finish but slightly. The showed me that the trailers were basically identical one with post load guides which I prefer (Alumacraft) and the other with Roller Guides (Lund) both ShoreLandr identical models. The Lund trailer was a $1000 more at the time. So I came to the same conclusion as you and went with the Alumacraft.
Stepping from a 33 year old 16-1/2' Alumacraft to a brand new 17'-10" Lund this year. Alumacraft is still solid after all these years but wife wanted a little bigger boat for grandkids and I wanted a FourStroke motor because they are so much quieter.
Alumacraft all the way !! On my fourth one since 1987 never had a problem yet . Had tournament pro 23 yrs sold to my buddy 😊Running 2022 185 competitor now great boats .
I went with the Alumacraft Competitor 185 with a Yamaha 90. No complaints. Ran all over Leech Lake one day, didn't even go through 1/4 tank of gas. Great boat and engine.
I’m sure it’s just the area you’re in but here in the south aluminum bay boats are the future. Xpress, Excel, and Avid will be replacing Ranger, Triton, and Skeeter. Making the same models in aluminum and they’re selling like crazy. Mainly the bay boats but even their bass boats are slowly taking over
This video makes me glad I picked up a clean used 2017 xpress x19 for 25k with a f150 yamaha and a helix 10 and 12 in January. Really thought I should hold out at the time for the prices to crash. But looks like they are still climbing.
I bought a 1996 19’ alumacraft competitor with a 90hp tiller mercury in very good shape for 5500. completely rewired it, put 2 garmin 93sv, livescope, and a 80pd terrova. Right around 9k into it and it’s been the best decision I ever made. Will have it for a long time.
Love the videos! I watch them all! But I think the ultimate do everything dad boat is .. a nice aluminum full windshield 17’6” fish and ski boat. I have a 2002 princecraft pro sport 176 with a 02 mercury (yamaha) 115 four stroke efi.. it’s quite, sips fuel, still hits over 40 mph, witch is a great size for the the body of water that I live on witch is the ottawa river up north in Ontario. I’m that boat guy the one that has lots of random boats of all shapes and sizes lovish and enjoy working on all them at times lol , huge fan of the suzuki and Yamahas, I’m the guy that enjoys watching these kinds of videos!! Keep up the good work!!
I had the alumacraft 185 comp tiller with 90 sho decent boat. Fished some walleye tournaments. Loved having the kids in front of me where I could see them. Only really have 2 complaints. Carpet came loose everywhere and the boat was awful in the wind. Now have the pro-v 2075 bass which I consider a multi species boat also. I’ll let you know how the pro-v bass holds up and fishes
I have a 2007 Alumacraft 165cs that I bought new with a Yamaha 50hp and love it. The transom corroded after 9 yes. Alumacraft fixed it for free. 2 months ago I upgraded to a new Yamaha F70. I still love it. Use it on Lake Erie all the time, the waves let me.
I definitely think your prediction isn’t far off!! Considering I had a custom 16/60 modified V-hull built with a tiller. And it was more affordable than some!!!
LOL - I love my dad boat! ‘04 Lund 1800 Adventure SS 1800. Them tin boats ARE the best all around-ers for families, no doubt about it. Couldn’t give me a bass boat; not enough room. Does it all with the entire family onboard; fish, tube, joy ride, grilling on the island and everything else while just slowly sipping the fuel! Gotta say though a single counsel or other option with midship controls is a better functional option with everyone plus the dog onboard for one big reason - visibility. It’s critical on these upper Mississippi River pools that you can see where you’re going on the channel and what the other boaters are doing around you; especially true on pool 8 when I’m out weekend warrior-ing it. By the way, wife had been pissing in the rear livewell for years when the water temp is too cool to dip in of the boarding ladder! LOL! These boats do it all. A Crestliner Sportfish 2050 is the ultimate dream dad-boat with 3 comfortable seating rows behind the windshield (full bench in rear) seating 9 easily. Where’s the military discount Crestliner?????
I’ve been shopping Lund’s 1875 PG against Alumacraft’s 185 Comp Tiller for years. Finally bought a Lund as the I felt the layout is better specifically around the rear live well and front pedestals. Alumacraft at the dealer has gaps between the walls and floor. When I bought they were the same price so no brainer on going with the Lund
2007 Lund 1600 Explorer Tiller.50 hp ETec .great Boat Fish Lake Michigan, down to 3-4 ft river systems.Kicker ,electronics, bow mount. Every thing I need and plenty of room for my Lab and my wife!
I personally have a 2006 crestliner 1650 fish hawk. So far so good. The motor however is a pos. Its a 90 hp merc 2 stroke. If i were to buy one of the 3 it would probably be another crestliner
I love my 21 A/C competitor 205! I was on the fence between the full windshield and the side console. I opted for the sport (full windshield) I just didn’t like the idea of the tiller. Regardless the all aluminum transom (on any brand) is unbeatable imop. I also liked you could get any motor you wanted. I got a merc 250.
Video was very informative, but damn Andy, using the bait well as a toilet just about done me in. I haven't laughed that hard for a long time. Thanks buddy.
I had a 2018 lund 1775pro guide w/90big tiller, absolutely loved it very wide, stable it’s a multi fishing machine. The boat literally is a dance floor. I sold it and got a 2022 lund 1875 renegade for the console and no more carpet plus better seating configuration with the redesign renegade. But the pro guide is definitely a very nice boat indeed.
I’ve been waiting for this one! We gut the interior and make catfish boats out of the deep V hulls. Have always heard that Lund is the top dog. Love seeing you step into the less popular variety on your team talks!!!
Thanks I am leaning Lund but Crestliner and Ranger are in the mix I am thinking 1850 but with a Side Console with 150hp to handle big water but with a big casting deck. I wish the Lund Pro V came in a Side Console as I don’t want a windshield. What makes Me lean Lund is resale.
What’s your thought on Lund in general? Looking at an 1875 Crossover with merc 175. Live in Oklahoma and we don’t see a bunch of Lunds. Thank you in advance
In the market for a new boat but cant justify pulling the trigger on brand new. Would love to know yalls opinion on new 4 strokes vs the older 2 strokes. Are they that much more reliable to justify the price difference?
Man… I’m always right ahead of the curve, had a 2018 G3 with a 80/115 jet, sold it in 2021 because we had a baby… 2022 I bought a 2022 Alumacraft 185FSX with a 150 ProXS, I wanted a walk through windshield. But we did put the car seat in the boat and got it as a family boat. It’s not bad. Plus I can fish St Clair more comfortable in that than a bass boat on rough days.
Have to go with the alumacraft. Have fished out the 185 competitor. Beatiful boat. Tons of room and very comfortable ride. I think I would go for the 205 however cause why not? Powered of course by a Suzuki.:)
To save a few bucks I went with Tracker in 2010 Pro guide 175 w/t And just upgraded it along the way. It's not the nicest boat but it didn't brake the bank either. If I had the money I'd go with a Spartan.
Great boats, but when looking at these types of boats one needs to look at the heavy welded open tiller aluminum boats we run on the Columbia River in the Pacific NW.
This question does not pertain to this video but could list the 3 best quality fiberglass bass boats that are quality and have great fit and finish along with good customers service?Currently running a 2022 FXR 21 and it seems like they are really lacking in areas. Looking to upgrade soon. Thanks!!
Not a tiller, but I got a 2022 Alumacraft Competitor 185 fsx with a 175 SHO for my make-the-family-happy boat and I am 100% satisfied with it and have no remorse at all about not going with another brand. Comparable lund model couldn't touch the storage I got with my boat.
Great video. I'm in the market for a newer, bigger boat and even though bass boats are awesome, they're just not roomy enough or versatile enough for me and my type of fishing. I sometimes have the family out, sometimes im in a lake freshwater fishing, out in the bay saltwater fishing, or even crabbing, so I need versatility. I was looking at the alumacraft 195 or lund 1875 pro guide....used of course.
What are your thoughts on Mirrocraft Andy? They make the aggressor 1880 pro mx in a tiller handle, 18' 9" length 96" beam, 39 gal fuel capacity, holds a 90 hp as well.
Love the videos! How about The Best All Around Duck/ Fishing boat? Something that can get skinny for those duck hunting spots, but handle bigger water. Gator Trax vs Excel?🤔
Tiller handle in my Jon boat creek fishing yes. Big ole boat like those ain’t no way in hell I’m giving that kind of money for a stiff neck. Screw all that
You guys have all have interesting views on both depends on what you want to use it for if you’re gonna troll on Lake Ontario or big water lakes Olumba craft is a bait great boat. I have a lung sport angler it’s decent. It’s riveted and it’s really solid not a drop of water in it but check out the new fisherman by lunch. They’re great set up really laid out nicely.
Me being from Canada I would consider Princecraft before those other brands. I owned one for 12 years looked like new after i sold it my only complaint would be a lazy nose in rough water.
I’m glad I bought my Lund 2075 pro v bass xs in 2019 for $55k fully loaded with a 250 pro xs ultrex and hummingbird electronics. Now they are out of reach!
🖕Al.....your totally entertaining! owned all three brands 2 Lumas 2 Cresty and 8 lovin Lunds! 40 years of fishing and hunting and guiding in my Lunds, two kids conceived on them and shitwell...well used. Hate cats but labs all over em. As with all newer ones of anything quality has suffered. My clients still won't believe me when I tell them my pro v tiller is near 30 in age and has had 3 motors and two floors done over and guess it age initially as 5-7 years old, having a new 4 stroke 200 hanging on a rock solid transom help the looks. guess it like a boob job and face lift on a 45 year old, makes em look younger. keep up the honest injun jive lovin it
I built those Manitou Pontoons with the under board. I was a welder for them and let me tell you how trash those boats are from the ground up. 10:36 The welders building these care enough to join metal and that's it. The whole assembly line cuts corners. It's honestly sad how little that company gave a shit. And they laid off around 250 people to move production to Mexico.
Lund makes a good boat. And good video, Now the ikon boat secret is what the deal with the center storage nobody wants to see or talk about. Having a yacht corp. involved must be something special in there like umm a miniature seakeeper. just guessing based on the videos I have seen the boat is very stable under power.
Great video overall, but $43 K for an 18' aluminum boat is nothing short of lunacy!!! Aluminum cracks over time. It even happens to "quality" aluminum wheels for cars over time. And really??!?!… Tiller??!??!? For that kind of money they could at least include a decent mechanical steering system. There's no excuse for not including one at these absurd prices. $63 K is even more insane!!! Aluminum boats have always been the ECONOMICAL alternative to fiberglass boats and none of these are even close to economical. I wish you'd call some of these companies out for overcharging as outrageously as they do and then skimp out and leave you with a Tiller?!?? Oh joy!… Not!
I love my 1995 1775 Pro V Dlx with the Johnson 150 and 15 kicker... bought it brand new... had to replace the rotted wood transom, rotted wood decking... Lund and Crestliner both made by Brunswick Corporation New York Mills, MN... I took my Lund up to New York Mills to have them fix the transom for $1500. my dealer wanted $3,000. for the rotted transom. I asked them why don't they use something that won't rot out in the transom... So dumb... now I see that Lund is now using a synthetic product in the transom so that it won't rot... Now they figure it out...
Another great video guys! Ill have to stir the pot maybe get my banned T lol I made the switch to a 19 ft mirrocraft aluminum with a tiller with rigged it with 3 106sv licescope and minnkota up front a few yrs ago and I would honestly never go back to a bass boat. Yeah I don't get the speed or the sparkles but the fishability is awesome and it doesn't cost me 250 bucks to fill after fishing a tournament #noroostertails #teamdadboats
This is my twenty second year of running a lund big tiller. Tillers are not for everyone. You better not mind getting wet and when the mercury drops ( not the motor , they do suck) it's a very cold ride. Why do I buy Lund? Best resale value.
I just bought an AlumaCraft 1875 Competitor in 2023 with a Suzuki 150.... Love it! I'd go with the big Lund for purely the cool points! 😎
I think you are right Andy. I'm starting to see these everywhere
Sips gas.

I went with a crestliner 1650 tiller 70 Yamaha , I liked the Rod storage and other storage over the others.
Accurate evaluation imo. I went through this process in 2020 it came down to the Alumacraft competitor 185 and the Lund Pro Guide. 75k for a alum boat with a tiller is crazy af. People have lost their minds
try 30k for the motor.
Agreed. Nuts. Just bonkers.
have a 2021 alumacraft competitor 185, love the boat for my use, mine has a 90 Suzuki👍
Stepping from a 33 year old 16-1/2' Alumacraft to a brand new 17'-10" Lund this year. Alumacraft is still solid after all these years but wife wanted a little bigger boat for grandkids and I wanted a FourStroke motor because they are so much quieter.

Comment below on what y'all think? Are these the Ultimate fishing boats?
🤨 $75-80k for some what quilty tin can 20' with 250 hand tiller ... Naw, I will go with a real aluminum boat for that price, Gator Trax Stiker.
Bay boats are the ultimate fishing boat.

LUND hands down, I have a 2021 PRO V 1975 love it.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love the videos!
I'm a tin boat man . The thickness of aluminum of the sides and bottom are important to me. Just wish they would make them a few gauge thicker
Gator Trax all the way in your case
Great video Andy. Cool that guy from Zimbabwe sent you a flag
2007 Lund 1600 Explorer Tiller.50 hp ETec .great Boat Fish Lake Michigan, down to 3-4 ft river systems.Kicker ,electronics, bow mount. Every thing I need and plenty of room for my Lab and my wife!
Do a video on tracker boats! I considered a targa when boat shopping. Glad I went with Alumacraft!
I personally have a 2006 crestliner 1650 fish hawk. So far so good. The motor however is a pos. Its a 90 hp merc 2 stroke. If i were to buy one of the 3 it would probably be another crestliner
You must have gotten the last of the 2 strokes.
Love entry level alumacraft more, but how can we hate Lund.
Nice video as usual and great job 👍
I love my 21 A/C competitor 205! I was on the fence between the full windshield and the side console. I opted for the sport (full windshield) I just didn’t like the idea of the tiller. Regardless the all aluminum transom (on any brand) is unbeatable imop. I also liked you could get any motor you wanted. I got a merc 250.
Video was very informative, but damn Andy, using the bait well as a toilet just about done me in. I haven't laughed that hard for a long time. Thanks buddy.
I have a 2001 sprint marine ocean pro and still use it today nice and stronge for the Colville river I'm from Nuiqsut look it up awesome keep it up.
Good choice with Alumicraft, they are being sold. Good luck with any warranty work and availability of parts.
I run Lund 1650 Rebil with 60 hp Evinrude this will be seventh season its ben good to me.
This is the platform we customized for musky fishing!! Good stuff! And our Alumacraft is 2018 so pre bombardier.
@text3213 scam
I had a 17.5 aluminum in 1998. It leaked from the get go. Aluma didnothing! I bought a 98 17.5 crestliner sport fish. Best buy ever!!!!!!!
We had a 1956 Crestliner...14'...loved that boat!
Another great video idea could be multi species boats like recon boats. Musky and walleye.

Purchased a alumacraft trophy 175 with a 140 Suzuki small enough for small lakes big enough for waves on st.croix river on busy weekends.
How are ya liking it?
How is the 140hp Suzuki as well and do you troll Walleye’s with it and how slow mph ?
Love my Lund 2075 ProV Bass, the ultimate dad fishing rig🤣😝👍
I've been thinking about that boat being I'm on Erie. think it'd run 40 in 3 to 4 footers?
@@NRP.fishing I run mine mainly on Lake Ontario with no issues. Smooth and stable
I'd take the Alumacraft. They are built as good or better, just as nice finishing and better specs by a little and the 2xb hull seals the deal
Got an Alumacraft FSX model last year and love that boat. No complaints with it or my 115 ProXS
I just like hearing you say "Bucks"
🤣🤣🤣
Have to go with the alumacraft. Have fished out the 185 competitor. Beatiful boat. Tons of room and very comfortable ride. I think I would go for the 205 however cause why not? Powered of course by a Suzuki.:)
What model Suzuki outboard should I look into for a 201 stratos. Currently has a 225 opti on it
If it's rated for a 250 go with the 250 SS
I just bought a plain Jane 14ft lund with split benches. And put a new suzuki 9.9 with 20 ecu. Good enough for me. Miss my ranger though
I love my Lund 2075 Pro Guide!
Lund just because, one and done!
Like the videos. Great boats but I'd think I'd go with the recon tiller. Otherwise aluminum or lund.
What are your thoughts on Lund's composite transom vs aluminum transom on the Alumacraft competitor 205? Love your channel, you guys are awesome!
To save a few bucks I went with Tracker in 2010 Pro guide 175 w/t And just upgraded it along the way. It's not the nicest boat but it didn't brake the bank either. If I had the money I'd go with a Spartan.
Yall going to do video on powerpole trolling motor
Yes!
Great boats, but when looking at these types of boats one needs to look at the heavy welded open tiller aluminum boats we run on the Columbia River in the Pacific NW.
Lund all the way!
If going aluminum deep V style boat I would go with one of the riveted models versus a welded boat.
What's up Clint?! Hello to all of our International fans!!!
Is that including trailers.
This question does not pertain to this video but could list the 3 best quality fiberglass bass boats that are quality and have great fit and finish along with good customers service?Currently running a 2022 FXR 21 and it seems like they are really lacking in areas. Looking to upgrade soon.
Thanks!!
Where do you think the ranger vx series boats fall in this category?
This is probably a stretch but, can you make a short video explaining the “emergency oil switch” on a Yamaha ox66?
Or just make a video on the Yamaha ox 66 😂
Not a tiller, but I got a 2022 Alumacraft Competitor 185 fsx with a 175 SHO for my make-the-family-happy boat and I am 100% satisfied with it and have no remorse at all about not going with another brand. Comparable lund model couldn't touch the storage I got with my boat.

I was looking at the alumacraft 195 or lund 1875 pro guide....used of course.
Spot on take on this subject, but it’s also probably the best multi species platform made be it tin or glass .
250hp tiller handle? Not sure how i feel about that
Power steering , like butter
Lund 1875 Impact xs Mercury pro xs 150!
😂
I have an alumacraft. They are decent but I am having some trouble with my transom
These guys get it 👌👌😂
I need a glass boat. The ocean is not gentle on riveted aluminum boats.
I have a 14 ft heavy crestliner doe's a what i need lots of room to fiish
Me being from Canada I would consider Princecraft before those other brands. I owned one for 12 years looked like new after i sold it my only complaint would be a lazy nose in rough water.
What about legend? Keep the vids coming always a good watch !
I’m glad I bought my Lund 2075 pro v bass xs in 2019 for $55k fully loaded with a 250 pro xs ultrex and hummingbird electronics. Now they are out of reach!
What about seaark boats I feel like they may be a good comparison to Lund certainly better than alumacraft
Love the video don'tcare for the boats.
Lund had a lot of issues with transoms also.
North River and Duckworth get my vote. Or anyone of the umpteenzillion boats like them made in the PNW.
A 250 HP Tiller steer...that would scare the hell out of me.
@Lip Ripper Not very popular down here but I could see some definite advantages in a smaller rig. I had no idea they made them at that HP level.
They're hydraulic steering
Why no trophy 205?
I have a 82 lund that is water tight, no cracks or leaky rivets. There are lots of those old lunds still in use today
2001 Skeeter ZX 225
Paid for is my dad boat!
What about like a used ranger Reata think that would be a great dad boat
Some states require a steering wheel for bass tournaments
Cane poles and aluminum boats both the way of the future. Get set for pan fishing!
Another great video guys! Ill have to stir the pot maybe get my banned T lol
I made the switch to a 19 ft mirrocraft aluminum with a tiller with rigged it with 3 106sv licescope and minnkota up front a few yrs ago and I would honestly never go back to a bass boat. Yeah I don't get the speed or the sparkles but the fishability is awesome and it doesn't cost me 250 bucks to fill after fishing a tournament
#noroostertails #teamdadboats
This is my twenty second year of running a lund big tiller. Tillers are not for everyone. You better not mind getting wet and when the mercury drops ( not the motor , they do suck) it's a very cold ride. Why do I buy Lund? Best resale value.
