Aurora, I have been watching 3d printing videos for the past 2 years...and you are now my favorite. You are the 1st I have seen when demoing a print to show ALL the specs used to replicate: Printer (of course), material manufacturer, slicer used, profile used, and speed settings. Thank you, keep up the great work.
Creality's naming convention is very confusing
Yea,I had thought the K in KE meant Klipper, but now they are producing Klipper printers with an SE designation? ugh
I agree. It seems like there are like 50 variants of the Ender 3, 😂
It seems they've been inspired by Microsoft Windows naming convention...
@@JakobDam 😂
@JakobDam I feel like they were at a party with Microsoft and pulled a "hold my beer"
Hands down the best 3D printer review channel on UA-cam. Thank you Aurora
Great video like always aurora. I’m 14 and you’re honestly inspiring with your knowledge and how you have grown your channel so much.
Thanks for a great review - and I think you're currently the only youtuber listing all 3 of the Ender 3 V3 variants next to eachother. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for yet another excellent review! I do hope you will find the time to publish the review of the ender 3 V3 KE soon, as I have anticipated that review for quite a while!
As always, your reviews are the best. I love your pros and cons section.
Another thorough and detailed review, thanks Aurora!
awesome review Aurora tech
One of the best reviews of yours, good job!
I love the reviews! They are always entertaining to me!!
Awesome video, as always. This is the without exception the best channel for comprehensive and accurate information about 3d printers.
Great review and I love how thorough you are reviewing 3d printers.
Thanks. Looking forward to the KE review.
The adjusted 1st layer print and the Carbon Fiber prints were really surprising and good.
Outstanding review Aurora.
I agree that the filament changing process is a bit tedious but you are doing it right, that is the way Creality says to do filament changes in the manual.
I look forward to the updates this printer will be getting
Excllent review as usual. Thank you!
Thanks for testing and sharing. Very helpful
I Love all your videos. Thank you!
Just wanted to thank you for your excellent reviews - last week I bought a Kobra 2 Pro based upon your recommendation, and it's absolutely fantastic.
superb, the question arrives naturally
Love your videos!! Keep up the good work. You should consider doing a video about Aurora Tech kinda behind the scenes. Cover how do you store all this stuff and previous test results, etc. Not sure others would be interested. 🤷🏼♂️
Love your videos. Best one to watch for sure
this is really good in dept testing in your video... very good review
Great review! Thanks!
Thank you!
It was on my to do list to figure out how to offset the Z axis because it is definitely a bit too low by default, thanks for the time save and the awesome video!
Great review!! you're so good at showing 3d printers capabilities so we can buy without remorse :D i bought the v3 KE 3 days ago so i'll test it myself but i'll watch your video when you test it to compare :P Keep it up with the good work!! :D
GOOD KE?
AND LOVE IT ENDER 5
@@30dimos yeah, its awesome, quality and speed is superb
This is a very complete and honest review. At its price point and the possibility of improvement in the future, this is a very attractive printer.
Thanks for the review. I have the ender 3 v3 ke, hopefully in the future, I will review it to see if it reaches the same conclusions as me. Greetings
Hey Aurora. Great video as always. It would be nice if you could test the Creality Nebula Pad with the Ender 3 V3 SE. I couldn't find much videos about it and the Nebula seems good with V3 SE.
Thanks for another amazing video!
Really good video, it‘s interesting that the voice over was pretty different deferent this time (your voice sounded very different)
Wish a great weekend
Just an experiment using Python to deep learn my voice for fun. Part of the voiceover uses AI, and we actually spent quite a lot of time tuning the voice to make it as close to my real voice as possible. I guess we'll just switch back to the normal voiceover, as it would be much faster and more efficient.
Great review
It will really be something when Creality releases a special edition of this as the Ender 3 v3 SE!
I've watched so many reviews. Didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. I fixed that. 😁
Correction : 19:57 Linear rods on X-axis are different between the top and the bottom 10mm and 8mm consecutively.

Hi Aurora, do you have a review for the Ender 3 KE? Great review as always.
Will the real Aurora please stand up please stand up ! XD Btw thank you for your time and work as always.👍
The review is, as always, to the point. I would like to know which boxes these are at the end?
Very good describe 😮
Great as always, Curious if you are following the Phrozen Arco? Would love to hear your initial impression of it.
You normally recommend a printer and I get. Only bad one was the original Kobra 2 (not the Pro). I beat you to it this time. Lol. Got it on the 21st and LOVE THIS MACHINE! Already got over 100 hours on it already. Going to wait and see if Microcenter has them discounted on the 20th when they get them in before I get another one. They are that good. Compact Fast and STABLE (Unlike the KE and SE). Sadly I can't fit it in a standard Ender 3 enclosure because it's too wide with the detangler spool holder. Had to use my own like you did.
👍
Considering and upgrade for my old Ender3, but I want a bigger bed.
Cheers
For the stringing test for the honeycomb print, seems like your z hop is enabled. Not sure if you had it enabled as well for your other printers, else it will not be a fair comparison. Z hop will always result in additional stringing.
Do you have any idea when the plus version of this will be coming out?
I like what I have seen, but I want the next size up.
I have been using a V2 for almost a year. This seems like a better thing to jump to rather than going going all the way up to a K1.
In the Con 4 you should not see the coreXZ as an advance to replace the Z axis which is the one that is "least used". On the contrary, you are using 2 motors to move the X axis, which gives you more acceleration taking advantage of the fact that the movement in Z is less.
VFA still evident. A1 is hard to beat in that area.
another great detailed review... 👍
🤓I would have appreciated if you tried to print some vases in vase mode to see if the Z-axis speed is a factor on those prints where the vertical axis change happens a lot quicker.... perhaps you could try this on a revisit video where you compare vase mode performance on a few printers like the Prusa MK4, BambuLab A1, & Creality Ender 3 V3 SE + KE....
🤔btw, I did notice you just ignored the V3's print flaw at the lower right corner of the hex crate with your blue Creality Hyper PLA test (at 10:46) ~I'd definitely curious to know why that happened...
👉there's also the ABS test where there's a very noticeable overhang drooping on the top outer edge's lip (at 16:50, though it could just be due to your scaling... just curious as to why it didn't occur in the strip just below it)
👋cheers!
Cool printer!
The core XZ motion system enables the power of two motors to drive the X axis (and the Z axis) which can provide greater acceleration in both directions (though not at the same time). The same thing is true in a core XY system. Like in the core xy system, core xz removed the weight of one of the motors from axis holding the print head, the reduced weight increase the available acceleration. However, in this case, it is the Z axis the will most benefit from the reduced weight, and most bedslingers already have two motors driving the Z axis. So the core XZ system does give the X and Z axis a small acceleration advantage, but not the Y axis. To get the most out of the core XZ system, one should slice models so that the longest side is along the X axis.
Hello, none with the factory profile have yet been able to beat my cheap Kobra 2 Pro in speed lol.
thanks to you I bought it when it came out.
It has some things that I don't like but for the price I can't ask for more.
I like watching these even when I'm not interested in the exact printer you're reviewing. A few reasons, you're very honest. You show all the flaws as well as the strengths. I know that I could find a hidden gem in your reviews.
Seems like Creality needs to tighten this one up a bit. The ringing in your tolerance test was bad, and it failed to complete every section of the test. For the price, this seems like a hard sell, when there are CoreXY systems out now in the same $$$ range, that perform amazingly by comparison.
Aurora, on your recommendation I bought the Ender 3 S1. I just love it. I was thinking of adding the V3 but after seeing the Bowden tube and filament mount I'll pass.
I purchased the Ender 3 S1 right after she reviewed it. It worked great right out of the box. I use it all the time and I still love it. It just works. Most of my prints are PETG and TPU and I have never had to use any adhesive. The only challenge I have had is printing Translucent Green filaments (both PETG and PLA). Other color work fine but there is something about that particular color. I usually have to use a raft to get it to stick and the nozzle set to 250, and the bed set to 80. It can be challenging but it's such a beautiful color. A few months ago I bought the tent that Ender makes for the Ender 3. It installed easily and most of my issues with this particular filament have disappeared. I highly recommend the tent.
Just got my Ender-3 V3 and I hate the location of the spool holder, too. So I moved the two mounting posts up to the two holes at the top of the printer and it clipped right on. Can't use the spiffy kickstand with it mounted on top, but I didn't have to print one and it seems to work just fine, even using the runout sensor. The filament does get into the wires, so I may run a reverse bowden tube to provide some guidance for it, or I may just bypass the runout sensor and run it directly into the top of the extruder.
Thanks Aurora, the video is great as usual. One question out of curiosity: did you use AI with your voice to read the script for a part of it? it sounded a bit weird and robotic. No problems for me, just curious. Cheers
I came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed. Not only is it slightly robotic, but it also seems to say a couple "typos" which Aurora definitely wouldn't do while actually talking.
I was going to ask *exactly* the same question. It is a little unnerving- “starting with T-Pew” 13:41 and elsewhere… Very strange and generally sounds different than previous narrations she has done.
Just an experiment using Python to deep learn my voice for fun. Part of the voiceover uses AI, and we actually spent quite a lot of time tuning the voice to make it as close to my real voice as possible. I guess we'll just switch back to the normal voiceover, as it would be much faster and more efficient.
@@AuroraTech thank you for your answer, cool stuff!
@AuroraTech Very good job, it does sound just like you. It wasn't until I was about halfway through video before I started to notice something was a bit off. A lot of people didn't notice though, It was probably just us long time viewers that did.
I prefer having a printer that I can bolt tool holders and other accessories onto. Aluminium extrusions with T-slots are really handy.
Nice video. There isn't much out there on the V3V yet. I just bought it. What profile do you use in Orca as it doesn't have one for the V3V yet. If you created it do you happen to have a resource you could point me to on how to do it? And finally, I noticed the z offset was just a tiny bit too low for my liking as well. But when I try to change it a message says 'This can only be changed in print'. I haven't been able to find anything on that message yet. (that's the problem with buying something on the bleeding edge)
Oof... looks interesting! Great review as usual. Cant decide if it's a better buy than the K1C though...
I have the same problem, did you bought one or not yet. If yes please could you help me with my choosing? :D
18:49 We'd be very interested on learning how you designed the lens covers? Was that by hand or did you scan?
Can't wait until my kids get their own Ender 3 V252 one day.
Wow. Creality just did something original. I'M STUNNED. Looks like an interesting machine too.
original? this is a COPY / REMIX of the design of the voron switchwire that is a copy / remix of the original design from Nicholas Seward, an incredible 3d printer builder.
Oh, dear. Somebody got very upset at me. It's original for Creality. I didn't say they invented it. I just said it's not like them to beat all the other major manufacturers to the punch. Now calm down, angry boy.
Like the informative like always. But there is no info if you do PA calibration, extrusion/flow calibration, retraction calibration etc. That will have big impact on quality! Keep up the good work.
would you, please, share, how did you married the printer with OrcaSlicer? Have you used K1 profile? Were you able to connect Orca to printer wireslessly?
I have questions.
1) First, is there a good, proven Cura 5.5 profile for this printer and if so, will it slice to provide nice prints like shown here?
Thanks for showing that Creality dryer. I looked it up and to my great shock, it's not crazy expensive! And it appears to match the design on the printer reviewed here.
2) With the TPU print test, around 14:20, I'm seeing vertical banding, which if not actually part of the design, could indicate some binding issues (on most printers).
So the question is, are those vertical lines, lighter, darker designed that way as in, perhaps thicker and thinner wall sections, or is this indicating an issue with this printer?
3) After watching the entire video, it appears that this uses a bowden system rather than direct drive. So using TPU that is soft, let's say, below 85, will it cause the usual jams, stretching and "spaghetti" problems in the bowden tube and/or extruder.
Honestly, I'm very nervous about a bowden printer. The print I have is direct drive and I'm accustomed to that. But, in your demo, this Ender does seem to print any material without issue. But again, soft TPU ???? I don't know the firmness of the TPU that you tested with. I am aware that most bowden printers can print TPU that is on the firmer side, like above 85. So this remains a question/concern.
Thanks for the excellent review. Seriously, one of the best I've seen.
Not blathering on about insignificant stuff like so many do. Just direct and right to the point.
Thanks in advance.
Creality looking at prusa like: catch up!
Great review as always! I'm beginning to get scared that you'll eventually take over Earth with your Alpaca army.
Nah, she will just store them in her many honeycomb crates.
Aurora can you test Mifon Chemical Calibram BT ABS (ABS+PA blend) to see if any improvement for bed slingers without enclosure?
Great review again, I do not think the bed leveling is better than a "single" Bltouch. The bedleveling system doesn't even measure where it counts (in the center). Printing PETG depends on getting enough heat into the filament, the extruder is not the limitation.
De facto distance for measuring sound pressure is 1m, so 3'3" or so ;)
With updated software and an enclosure this could be a very good printer for the price.
@AuroraTech do you know anything about when you might review the FLsun s1 / t1 ?
I would like to thank you for once again doing superb work ✌
I am afraid not as our schedule is fully booked until June.
Hello! Ender 3 se. After 4 months I can’t adjust the first layer over a large area, the flow doesn’t help. I'll try to change the offset along the Z axis. Thanks.
Does the gantry drop at all when the power is cut? I see springs on the Z rods to maybe act as an shock absorber?
11:55 at this point you must have a whole herd of these.
which one you are going to pick between this one and the Creality Ender 5 S1 + Creality Sonic Pad Combo at this point in time?
Do you have a STL source for the support stand of the filament holder or something similar? Thanks
Why did you not compare it to the BL A1? Same price, bigger print volume, more reliable?
What do u do with all your printers lol great video as always
how can I permanently set a z-offset? The way it seems to me in the expert mode I have to do it manually at the beginning of every print which is quite annoying. I need +0.1 but then it's a near perfect first layer
let me see if i got it right? the speed doesnt come from the core XZ but from the linear rods?
You have read it very nicely
I am torn between this Ender 3 V3 and the Ender-3 S1 Plus.. I love that the Plus is bigger but can't figure out which prints better?
Well done girl !!!
CoreXZ still seems weird to me but the Ender 3 V3 hardware looks solid and it prints well. I'd put open source Klipper on it and toss the reverse Bowden tube and feed it from an overhead wall mounted spool holder.
Ender 3 V3 KE and Kobra 2 pro what should I choose ?😊
Great video! I cannot find your Ender 3 V3 KE review. Can you please point me to where it it? Thanks!
I didn't post it, but I think the Ender 3 V3 is doing a much better job than the KE.
Hello in CURA SLICER wich is the best option in the models list to fit this printer_?
They have already released the rooted firmware for this machine but nothing yet on the CR10Se. Just crazy how fast they released it this time.
The Bambu Lab A1 or this? Considering they're practically the same price
Im going to wait for the A1, but thats just me as I have had terrible experiences with Creality in the past.
@@Untitleduser604 yeah, leaning A1 also. Creality has a LONG way to go with quality control, it seems like
A1 ofc
Can you release the video of the KE please
Could you possibly do a video on how to disassemble the extruder? Mine jammed similar to how yours did. Normally i could just push it through with the included rod. but this time the rod got stuck.. i took out the nozzle and was able to get the rod out. but now i cant push filament through and it just clicks when i try to extrude. the rod goes in fine but filament just wont... i think i may need to disassemble it completely to clean it out but im afraid i wont be able to put it back together...
Is it better than the S1 Pro ?
How accurately does the XZ maintain horizontal motion? It's a pity that you don't use measuring instruments in your video.
A printing layer thickness of 0.1 mm and fluctuations of only 0.01 mm is 10% of the plastic flow.
will you release the review of ender 3 v3 KE anytime soon? I'm considering either to buy KE or V3 😅
wich is better ?
How long before someone just gets some aluminum extrusions and turns it into a core-xy printer by flipping the gantry?
I kind of like the KE the best. Sure this might be a better machine, but I don't think it's it's worth the extra $100. The jump of the KE over the SE does seem worth it. So I still recommend the KE.
I agreed, but as for me it's CR-10 only because I can get it for RM1357 $283 that is slightly cheaper than KE right now. It's been 1 month already and the price still doesn't goes up yet. Now i have one. But not yet unboxed lol. Almost 3 weeks already hahah.
@@kreinova2747 I never heard anyone talk about the cr-10 se. I figured it was probably just the same thing as the enders.
One of the advantages of core XZ is that it moves the X stepper motor down to the base where its mass has no effect on Z-axis movement, but the Z-axis isn't that critical to begin with. I wonder if they were anticipating a revolution in using the Z-axis more freely instead of using purely horizontal layers as most slicers produce these days.
Actually, the more useful advantage is that the Z-axis homing is done reliably by a switch on the gantry itself.
there are many benefits with CoreXZ given a bedslinger: very low moving mass in Z allows for fast z hopping, low cg motor placement, compact wiring, all belt drive, etc!
Another advantage should be no Z wobble artifacts.
The empty screw holes by the spool holder and on top of the gantry...... wonder what they are going to be used for?
:)
i have a question and appreciate any answer. new to 3d printing. do i have to use creality filament or can u use any other companies? appreciate answers!
Most popular 3D printers such as Creality, Prusa, BambuLabs are open filament 3D printers, meaning they don't require a specific brand of filament. You can simply buy generic filaments with a 1.75mm diameter from Amazon or anywhere else.
Would you go over Cura Accel values for the older ender 3 / ender 3 v2 machines? I print at 50 mm/s and don't know what to put these at.
It doesn't matter, as the firmware of the old Ender-3(or V2 or most Marlin bed slingers) limited the acceleration to 500mm/s², so it won't make any difference no matter what you input in the slicer.
Are you using an AI TTS for this video?
