Yeah, I figured I might give it a try for the price, but I'm going to return my Pad 2 and just get an S9 Plus. Sure, I have the older Snapdragon gen 2 processor, but the benchmarks show that the performance isn't far behind the Pad 2. Overall, I think the software is better on Samsung, and I also miss having the fingerprint scanner and the tap-to-wake function. Also, there are app incompatibility issues with my Pad 2.

I haven't used Android on a tablet for about three years but the last time I did it was a miserable experience. Common apps like Twitter didn't even have a tablet layout, they were just stretched out phone apps that looked ridiculous on a tablet sized display. Has that improved? I much prefer Android on phones and my iPad 8th gen is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm looking for a sub £500 replacement. I will most likely wait and see what the 11th gen iPad looks like but this would be appealing IF the app situation is better.

What about note taking and this student stuff? Ie hows the pen doing compared to the galaxy/ipad with unwanted hand touch etc? I want the 12"+ tablet, so pretty much only options are S9 FE+, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro and this OnePlus Pad 2, since iPad this size is way to expensive for my usage - 900€... Galaxy has edu discount so its for 440-540€ (128/8GB and 256/12GB) with pen/without keyboard (the keyboard is kinda expensive, almost same price as Apple's - but for this model i dont see it yet available), Xiaomi 600€ with free keyboard and 80€ pen, OnePlus with free pen and 100€ keyboard is 603€. What do you think is better choice? Price point is kinda the same so it's only hw+sw comparison 🤔

I contacted the OnePlus customer service and they said OnePlus pad 2 will receive 3 years of Major Android updates and 4 years of security updates meaning that it should be good with updates till 2028. I hope to use it till 2027 & then sell it late 2027 so that whoever buys it can still get a year or some months of security updates. Once I transfer all my stuff on my xiaomi Pad 6 to the oneplus pad 2, I will be selling my xiaomi Pad 6 right away.
hey there. how much are you looking to sell your Xiaomi for?
Can we connect and share files through external SSD or Harddisk with this tablet? Would be really helpful if u reply.❤
Considering to buy this tablet.
Yes it does.. I connected a 1TB SSD and used with it.
good thing I don't need the keyboard or the stylus and it works so well for the games I play as well as the insane charging speed I get where in the blink of the eye, it gets fully charged. Hopefully this will last me for a very very long time because I really love the overall performance that I may consider getting a Oneplus phone in the future.
How do you rate this pad for content consumption? From 1 to 10?
I'll give 8, will only take out points for LCD display, specially if you are coming from oled
Does it support L1 support in Netflix because some reviewers did say that one plus will roll out the update after some days what the situation is just want to know.
I am so confused rn,oneplus pad 2 or samsung tab s9,i am student as well i read alot, also i watch alot of netflix, which one i have to choose, please help me
same bro
Excellent video 🤩🤩🤩
Has there been any updates for the WiFi Issues? That's my main concern before ordering one
The only two downsides I feel are
1 no sd card slot
2 no fingerprint reader
Great video - lists the characteristics of the device, but also describes its practical capabilities in real-life utilisation. Very well planned and scripted. Thanks for the good work, worthwhile liking and subscribing.
Thanks for your review, as some mentioned you don't mention customer service. Reviews elsewhere mentioned horrible customer service!Does anyone here have experience with customer service?
Kyle: Thanks for asking OP about color gammut, finally someone
I'm hesitant. Their phones recently have been riddled with reliability issues. My op8 screen had green line issue twice. I'm paranoid about buying another op product. S9 price will probably drop once s10 drops
Tis suppot dobly vision and widewine l1???
I haven't used Android on a tablet for about three years but the last time I did it was a miserable experience. Common apps like Twitter didn't even have a tablet layout, they were just stretched out phone apps that looked ridiculous on a tablet sized display. Has that improved? I much prefer Android on phones and my iPad 8th gen is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm looking for a sub £500 replacement. I will most likely wait and see what the 11th gen iPad looks like but this would be appealing IF the app situation is better.
It is definitely better now. I won't say that it is perfect, but it is so good that I don't feel annoyed by anything since I bought the Tab S9U. Also I like that the advanced features let me choose tablet or smartphone view on landscape
You missed whether there is a problem plugging in a SD Card Reader. I have a cheap card reader I got for my phone and now I am wondering if it would work. also, it would have been helpful if you would have given an alternative or two.
Also, does photoshop express or elements or whatever work on it?
Just a simple question can I watch online streaming Netflix UA-cam etc check emails and do basic stuff like spreadsheets ect
Thank you
yes, you can
heres my question for you, the stylo 2 pen, will they offer replacement nibs?
there's one included with it, but I'm not sure if they're sold separately direct from OnePlus
@@KyleErickson the first one didn't offer replacements. So once you kill the tip it's trash. Terrible by them.
A relative comparison would help lay viewers, maybe a small excerpt stating the competition
Does it work with card reader ?
Yo i got mine a few months ago as a school tablet, the battery drain is insane, i often use multiple apps at once but i got 30% loss after an hour for only using one note? I even down settled the herz. Is that normal or should i send it in to get it fixed
Dolby Vision HDR but it's still an IPS panel... blacks are dark grey, if viewed at an angle..
What's the video out Max refresh rate?
This or honor magicpad 2?
Watching this on my Oneplus tab 2. UA-cam is very annoying always automatically recommending 720p quality... Maybe its also a issue with the wifi speed. Other than that, its been great. I love the gaming performance
How about the battery back up
@@kavianandvj3853 I would call it decent. It should easily last the whole day with normal use, playing video, taking notes etc. When I emulate GameCube games, or play CoD mobile it lasts about 6-7 hours.
How is the display compared to OLED
@@skullgaming5961 ofc. Compared to OLED it's not as good... But do you want to pay triple for a Ipad Pro 2024... The LCD screen is good, it has great viewing angles, and 3k content looks amazingly sharp
I'm from Australia how can I buy one of these online? From what i can see the one plus websites are fake.... I really love the look and the features on the tablet but I have no access to it and I'm not about to buy from Amazon and risk getting a dud.
Make a tips and tricks video please
Yes, please!!
Hey I purchased OnePlus Pad 2 and I have a Lenovo monitor with type c port. But when I connect the tab with the monitor it only charges the tab and doesn't mirror the screen. Can you please help
seems pretty nice
I wish it had other languages for keyboards in Danmark. Because they only sell US international keyboard. Otherwise I would buy it. But it’s weird that it doesn’t have a 3.5 headphone jack.
Lamplighter, is that you?
Sir i hope you will give me a RESPONSE,
I am big vedio watching guy,i want a very vibrant, very contrast, display, which one is better ONEPLUS PAD 2 VS SAMSUNG S9 FE+
The 8gen 3 score of this tablet is not even close 0.9k in single core vs 4.3k in multicore to what we get in smartphones about 2k in single core and about 6.5 k in multicore . I don't get , isn't same processor in tablets able to push further ?
can you connect an external SSD to it?
Yes... I connected 1 TB SSD
compare stylo 2 with s pen
Can I open office applications in an optimized way?
Hi, I'm a university student. I mainly use this for taking notes and watching movies, i want to know how is the display for netflix, apple tv, etc. and how is the pencil for note taking when compared to apple pencil. I'm getting this for $465 including the pencil. whats your opinion.
I'm in the same boat and the Stylo is really good, almost no lag whatsoever and it's very accurate. The only thing that annoys me a bit is that the stylo's features, such as the double tap feature and the haptic feedback, only work on OnePlus apps and the OnePlus notes app is pretty restrictive but other than that it's great.
@@bendobbing7015 how is the display quality, do you feel a significant difference between this and OLED display for watching movies and series?

A 8 gen 3 processor scoring 931 in single core geekbench..is the cpu underclocked?
it's not in any kind of performance mode or anything - this was just a stock setup run for reference, but honestly, it feels quite snappy in practical use
@@KyleErickson it doesn't have to be in any kind of performance mode. Phones with the same processor have much higher scores. In their normal mode. No reviews have said anything about it anywhere on yt.if feels like OnePlus paid them not to talk about it.
Guys, what is the difference between Oneplus Pad 2 and Oneplus Pad Pro?
Love mine. Got the stylo and keyboard too. The display on my unit is probably the best LCD I have had on my mobile devices. No backlight bleed.
Battery life is good, stylo and keyboard too. Folio is a bit meh for my liking. I will get a proper case for it. Also, you will need a screen protector as it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
Performance wise it's unbelievably good.
One thing to note: The haptic feedback of the Stylo 2 is only available on the built in note app (so far!).
Rate it 8/10
Do you know if they will sell replacement tips for the pen? I like using paper feel paper and the last one wore out super quick, but they did not sell or no one did, replacement tips.
@@MarcosCruz I didn't find any info on that, so I doubt it. But I have to say the haptic feedback on the pen made me choose a normal screen protector over paper feel!
You look very similar to Captain Birdseye. Is he your brother, or something?
I really hate the new Keyboard. Compared to the magic Keyboard from apple this one have to many bugs. No light, weird things happen when i use that trackpad🤮. With this issues i use nearly all time no keyboard
Can you do reviews with sock puppets and get two birds stoned at once? Great video, seems like honest opinions based on your kind of use. Will you do a "best of 2024" like other UA-camrs? Everyone loves comparisons to help them make the difficult choices in the market.
Can you believe that this thing is already obsolete with the release of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4?
Just discovered your channel, fantastic quality review. I am typing on the OnePlus pad 2 right now and agree with the majority of your analysis. It's a nice device especially for the pre order deals price we just had.
Is the wifi thing also happen on your tablet?
@@Dinocutie673 no issues I’ve noticed
@@Tazzfalcon I still can’t decide between this or Ipad air 6th. The OS support for oneplus is 3 years only, I’m afraid it will be an issue after that.
@@Dinocutie673 if money isn't a concern the Air M2, if that's the one you mean? Is better for sure, particularly if you are already on iOS. Money was a factor for me and the bang for buck and interest value for me personally in trying out an android device again after about 6 years away made it worthwhile.
S9 Plus Tab or Oneplus Tab 2? I can't decide 😂
Go for S9 plus, this one only got 3 years of OS support.

Can any other OnePlus Pad 2 user confirm WiFi slowness? tia
But, will it last 6 years like my current iPad with zero issues?
I like a review that covers good AND bad it’s exactly what I want from a review!
Has anyone tried using Netflix on OnePlus pad 2? Mine not working on the day 1.
It should work!
I want to copy your tattoos 😅
I'm too invested in the Apple ecosystem to even want to move, but if I weren't, this does look interesting. I'm also sure a lot of its shortcomings can probably be fixed over time with firmware updates.
Thanks, Kyle, for having a look.
Oneplus didnt mention the contrast ratio on their page. Guess why?
Plot twist: its lower than pad 1's ratio 😏
Where did you find?
@@shrihan999 gsmarena under "tests" section

Wish it had an oled display instead
Too late 😂 I was fan of one plus ..I just got iPad Air 13inch..anotherwise I would love to order this one look worthy

Tha main thing that nobody tells you is that the keyboard scratches the screen like crazy...
No GPS.
no SD card storage is a no no for me.
