Still enjoying my OnePlus Pad 1 even though I didn't get a keyboard cover. This looks even more capable but surprised to not hear my #1 reason for choosing it which is the 7:5 aspect ratio. Basically somewhere between Surface 3:2 and iPad 4:3. I believe almost all other Android tablets are 16:10 which always feels weird to me to use as a tablet. But if you're using it more as a laptop replacement it's not such a big advantage.

I actually prefer using that tablet for content consumption over my phone due to screen size. For the people who watch shows and keep thinking "I really wish I was watching this on an OLED screen," maybe you should be watching better shows instead? Demon Slayer is so engaging that when I watched it on my cheap tablet, it never even occurred to me to stop and switch to my OLED tablet. Don't get me wrong. I like OLED displays, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying content watched from an LCD screen.

While I do like what Samsung and OnePlus (and Google somehow) are doing with the tablets on Android, having phones with desktop mode and old gen laptops, especially mobile workstations that are getting skinnier without losing power, negates my need for one of those tablets. Also, Surface is still around in the case I must (like I MUST) have a touchscreen that also can take a pen. I think also the trend of having incomplete features that you can use already in the phones (even from their same brand) and the laptops don't help this kind of tablets, which is absurd at the prices they ask for.

Great and interesting review. I never had a oneplus product, but after this video i am considering it. I just hate these kind of Keyboard covers... Back then, I broke a Surface 4 because it slipped from my knees as he magnet wasnt strong enough (same concept as this one). With my S6 it was the same problem... Hey thanks for the kind words! So, if you REALLY want to work apps side by side, I was HOPING Android 15 would bring the new windowed app interface, but OnePlus' skin doesn't seem to allow for that yet. Even though I personally kinda hate the brand, it might be worth shopping a Galaxy Tab to use DEX. I don't think ANY tablet has GREAT display calibration settings. OP is good, but a lot of it still feels a little on the autopilot kinda side. You can choose a "pro" mode and dial in more specific color temperature, but I wish we could just get legit monitor style controls. As for Bluetooth, if you mean audio, it's still annoying that companies choose different codecs and connections that piggy back on Bluetooth. THese days it seems the headphones control the experience more than the host computer. If the headphones have support for low latency modes, then you're probably good. Otherwise, it's still bluetooth, with all the delay we would expect.
@SomeGadgetGuy brilliant feedback and info, thank you so much. For me the Bluetooth latency will be as much on the cameras and lenses we'll be employing as it will be on the tablet. We'll be doing programmed focus pulls via USB-C and our app while operating the cameras wirelessly via their respective Android apps. Our app is latency free due to the cabled interface but man have I found massive differences between the 3 major camera companies and their apps. Accessibility, connection, usability... All vary wildly. Glad they're not my product 😂 The screen seems plenty good enough for sample image and video playback. It certainly has the resolution. I don't have to obsess over color accuracy too much. Just want to make sure it looks good enough to represent and/or sell from. I suspect it will do the trick :) Cheers to you, sir! This video could have focused more on the features of Android and Oxygen OS to help potential buyers make an informed decision.
Well that, and I did the set up intro/video. A handholding walk through of the OS, for people who want to be spoon fed the basics, but aren't going to buy a tablet like this anyway, is not what should be in a review. That's a waste of time.
I have this tablet. Generally I think it is a great tablet, quick and actually a very nice and very bright display. It is a bit heavy, but that’s ok. Compared to the iPads I have had I have found that the Edge rejektion is somewhat bad. When I hold the tablet is often triggers unwanted events. But what you get for the price is really unbeatable.
What makes this and other tablet screens trash is the reflectivity and no putting a matte chinese shit protector on is not a viable solution for clarity and retaining display quality, sadly same goes for all oled tech out there - extremely reflective :(

i have a samsung tab s9 ultra and (since they have great trade in price for s9 ultra) thought about trading it in for the oneplus 2 + keyboard + pen (and have some money left over) since oneplus 2 has the newer gen processor. however, i've seen (online) benchmarks showing samsung's gen 2 snapdragon was running faster than oneplus's gen 3 snapdragon. what gives?
Wish they charged a bit more and put in an OLED screen and a micro SD slot.
I think it will be great if Google combines Android and Chrome OS. It will be great competition to iPad and Surface tablets.
I agree with the track pad being a sorethumb with this otherwise really good device.
Can you EXPAND the image in a external screen apart from DUPLICATE it? How? 🤯
Developer options, desktop mode 👍
I prefer to use Touch ID on my phone and tablet (and windows hello on my laptop and pc) so I wish Oneplus had used Touch ID on their tablet. But this tablet still looks pretty solid. Since my next phone may be a Oneplus 12, their tablet is also high on my wish list.
Hello, I'm Ajay..
Is it good for taking classes for 4 to 5 hours daily?
Should have no problem.
Depends on what you need for you class, but id imagine it would do well.
@@SomeGadgetGuy I need for med notes taking
I have a PC. So an android tablet would fit my use more than a laptop. The OnePlus tab really looks good
It requires a LITTLE more work finding the apps and services that fit your workflow, but I've been able to switch up and go totally phone-based to get my work done if I need to. It's kind of liberating being able to shake up your services.
@@SomeGadgetGuy I can work my way very well with android big geek here hehe. But yes
For me I don't use laptop anymore I don't need it for work so I just need mobile device with big screen for some light work and entertainment
Then yeah, a good tablet might be the trick. Even going back an older gen would probably do you fine. Like, wait for the Galaxy Tab S10 and then shop sales on the S9 or the Oneplus pad 1.
Are these easy to use with multiple user accounts? I hate Apple's "one expensive device for one user" mentality.
people with pwm sensitivity?🌹❤
Pity it's an LCD screen.
I don't see anything wrong with it. If anything, I'm happy it's an IPS LCD panel. It's always more reliable and cheaper to repair than OLED panel
So what? Doesn't mean it's gonna be bad.
I was wanting the latest iPad Pro for some mobile stuff, and wasn't considering an Android tablet, but Juan sold this to me. 😅
It's half the price and I'm not exactly an OLED display snob, so I'll survive with the grey-ish blacks just fine.
I am kind of an enabler like that. Sorry 😅
Aren't u glad Microsoft invented Bluetooth keyboards with the new Surface??
But Robo & Kala did it first 🤯🤯🤯
@@SomeGadgetGuyHeck, Lenovo beat them for years.
stylus with palm rejection for this tab under 2000
Oneplus make a 14 inch model!
This tab is a beast for the price. I returned my pixel tab
That's one of the comparisons I should have hit harder. They have very different transformations, but head to head, op scores huge performance wins.
This pad support 3rd party stylus
I'm curious to see how it would compare to something like an iPad Air M2, since they are pretty close in price.
Android is getting chrome desktop in the future.
I hope so. There's no guarantee that Android will get more Chrome OS FEATURES, only that future chromebooks will run android instead of Chrome OS. They could absolutely hold back the CHromeOS UI from tablets.
I'm not much of an artist!!! Ok lol
Honor Magic Pad 2.
It's not available in the USA.
@@farishanafiah8461
Ships and planes say you are wrong.
@@BurntOrangeHorn78 Doesn't mean it'll work over there. I know most Chinese tablets don't have LTE/5G connectivity support. But even if they do, it won't share the same cellular band as in China.
@@farishanafiah8461 The Honor Magic pad 2 is WiFi and BT only.
Most people looking at this video would be familiar with the iPad and are looking at Android alternatives with a top of the line chipset and are unfamiliar with the state of Android in tablets. This video does not elaborate on the daily tablet usage but focuses on comparisons with a similarly priced Windows laptop. This video could have focused more on the features of Android and Oxygen OS to help potential buyers make an informed decision.
Custom Android OS is best to experience for personal self.
Well that, and I did the set up intro/video.
A handholding walk through of the OS, for people who want to be spoon fed the basics, but aren't going to buy a tablet like this anyway, is not what should be in a review.
That's a waste of time.
The review i was anticipating
I have this tablet. Generally I think it is a great tablet, quick and actually a very nice and very bright display. It is a bit heavy, but that’s ok. Compared to the iPads I have had I have found that the Edge rejektion is somewhat bad. When I hold the tablet is often triggers unwanted events.
But what you get for the price is really unbeatable.
Yup working the doodle, I switched away from gesture navigation.
What makes this and other tablet screens trash is the reflectivity and no putting a matte chinese shit protector on is not a viable solution for clarity and retaining display quality, sadly same goes for all oled tech out there - extremely reflective :(
Long story short for all you viewers: [Redacted] 😂. Watch it for yourself
SPOILERS?!?!?!
😅
I'll add a question mark like this to induce excitement for the video ❗ 😂 @@SomeGadgetGuy
WHEW! That was close!
