Our government has OBVIOUSLY not learned their lesson, that whales and explosive munitions are a TERRIBLE combination. If one of our ships ever gets blown up by the enemy, the blast will blast blubber beyond all believable bounds.

Dependent on age and gender, but it is around 14 mins 16 mins for men and women, lower for younger recruits.
It is a amazing that we have a had hundreds of comments and none fact checked it.
The Expert Infantry Badge requires the soldier to carry a 35lb ruck, plus personal gear and weapon, for 12 miles in 3 hours to pass. That's a 15 minute mile with nearly 50lbs of equipment, and these sucks have 20 minutes to run 1.5 miles in PT gear? As you said, pathetic.

Went to Navy boot, Great Lakes, back in ‘58. There were 88 guys formed into a company and they jammed us in a barracks designed for 40. Beside the physical torture (July and August, hot as hell) we had to wash our clothes by hand and hang them on outside clotheslines using small pieces of thin ropes called clothes stops. God forbid if you had a knot facing the wrong way as the entire line came down and got stomped on during inspection. Air conditioning in boot camp? You are kidding.

And piss off all the competent sailors just because they wouldn't play ball with bureaucratic BS and unfortunately being mercenaries for the military industrial complex doesn't help either, deters any good recruits who have any degree of self awareness about how the military is being utilized.

The problem lies with the Chiefs, i.e., lower management. The Chief are not doing their job.
I’m all for out of shape folks joining. But they shouldn’t step out of boot camp till they can perform well for their own safety and the safety of their squad. Nothing wrong with joining to better yourself. But it’s just plain cruel to send someone that underprepared into a war zone. I’ve heard people say that because more and more remote positions are being made that the pt requirements aren’t as necessary. Which sounds logical till you think about the fact that lack of discipline is the main reason most people are overweight. Now someone with poor discipline and potentially worse impulse control is gonna operate a remote killing machine where their job requires them to end human life with a complete emotional disconnect….🤔 what could go wrong?
This is ABSOLUTELY COMICAL!! 🤣
I'm surprised the drill instructors didn't have to say please and thank you to the recruits...
