Most of the day was water after a morning bowl of cereal. We would have killed for a candy bar and some milk. Scrapes and cuts were routinely ignored until just before infection. Then we'd slap some iodine on it and play some board games at night. 70's rocked.

The Chinese aid military is a separate thing than the Chinese mercenaries. Chinese mercenaries are getting paid by the Russian government or russian recruitment agencies and they get individual contracts, they are usually signed to be in the front line or at least they are perceived as low skilled personnel. The Chinese aid military is small in numbers, they are on missions to Russia rather than in a contract, they are getting Russian salaries but through the Chinese government and they are usually highly skilled in specialised sectors. Either tech or maintenance of heavy machinery. The thing is China doesn't want to get too involved since they are profiting through both sides of the conflict and also they don't want to become a target for discrepancy for a war they don't really care all that much.
They do. It's the one that says "US ARMY". You just have to be able to interpret it. edit...can also be found between the lines of, "Marines", "US Air Force", and "US Navy".

There’s a lot of news going around that China’s having a lot of internal social problems. If any of them they merit, China is far from ready for a large scalewar.
Here's the thing though: There are plenty of US vets who signed up for fighting on the Ukrainian side. Guys with actual combat experience, unlike these Chinese guys. What they discovered was that fighting a near-peer force like Russia is completely different from their experience of calling in air strikes on Afghan goat herders. Those guys either ended up becoming a part of the scenic Ukrainian countryside, or crying about it on the internet after deserting. As Mao once said, the US is nothing but a paper tiger.
Anyone with two brain cells should know that. Its quieter for one thing, there's no back ground music or atmospheric background noise and when you run out of health there are no mission restarts.

Soon the machines will be fighting each other, in our names while we watch..... We'll have to make the machines incredibly smart so they can beat each other. Imagine fighting warfare in the drone era. They can see your every move, they can drop bombs on you without you knowing theyre coming. Hell, even if you know theyre coming, good luck shooting a drone out of the sky with a rifle when its flying at you to kamakaze. Let alone how they can help the artillery dial in. We should pray for tensions to ease, WW3 would be a nightmare for the entire planet. Especially us men.
They just haven’t caught up with drone warfare yet. You know those animal capture guns that shoot out nets? They got some big powerful ones with pretty big nets for large game and you can shoot them 30-50 feet. But even that might help if you have a drone hunting you. Anyway, someone just needs to develop those net guns. There’s just been no reason to develop them. But jamming signals, pinpoint EMP, net guns….there’s just a few ideas. But will they develop defensive weapons for drones? Who knows, these people seem to want our population to decrease.

If this is the attitude of a Chinese solider the CCP is in no way prepared to invade Taiwan
Hes a merc not Chinese Army. Mercs are just simply guns for hire. They are not real infantry. They do not train like real infantry they train like militia.
These are no Chinese soldiers, but kids going to war, just like plenty of Americans with and without experience went to Ukraine just to desert and fly back home when the first artillery shells flew by them.

First we have drones with human operators... then we developed technology to block the signals between the operators and the drones... then we make autonomous drones that can carry out a preset mission.....then we make defense drones that autonomously take down other drones.....then we make smart AI drones that can carry out a mission and avoid attack..... Soon the machines will be fighting each other, in our names while we watch..... We'll have to make the machines incredibly smart so they can beat each other. Light infantry is 100 lbs minimum. Can't imagine how much heavy infantry ruck around.
maximum 85 kg ~ 180lbs, with such a weight you need to walk 5-10 km through the forests to your position. In battle, depending on the mission, soldiers carry 20-30kg ~ 65lbs of additional equipment, a couple of grenades, 300-600 additional rounds, in addition to the main 120-240 rounds in 4-8 magazines. 1.5-2 liters of water. Well, first aid kits, all sorts of tourniquets, batteries, armor 8-15 kg, etc. That is, in battle, on average, a person together with armor, weapons, with a small supply of cartridges, etc. 40-45 kg ~ 100lbs. kg. If a grenade launcher, then 50-55 kg ~120lbs, if a machine gunner 50-60 kg ~130lbs
