About 5 years ago I decided to repaint my Dad's old 1987 Toyota pickup. Rust repair, old dents, etc. all made the job more complex. Tore the whole thing apart. 3 months of weekends and some evenings it was finally done. Glad I chose white! I have an entirely different level of respect for these guys..
"Mind-blowing! I was skeptical at first, but after trying out the techniques from this video, I'm a believer. My car looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The simplicity of the method combined with the professional outcome is truly impressive. The biggest lesson I took away from this is the importance of taking initiative and learning practical skills that can save time and money in the long run. Kudos to the creator for sharing this game-changing tutorial!"
After a Lifetime involving this kind of work I agree with those below. Nice masking and excellent application of several layers of thin repair putty. I was never that good having to re-fill several times and then lots of sanding. Still I usually got a good result. Modern chemicals are a huge help, I've been out of it for several years now, used cellulose but dreadful sinkage with that scheme. Personally I wouldn't have involved the bumper Wish he'd said what he was using, water-based mostly these days. Lacquer over base coat. Anyway, nice work and thanks for your video.
"I'm truly inspired by the level of craftsmanship demonstrated in this video. Not only did you repair the dents flawlessly, but you also instilled a sense of confidence in viewers to tackle similar projects themselves. The key takeaway for me is the importance of attention to detail and following each step meticulously. Thank you for the enlightening experience!"
Amazing! With just this video, a hundred dollars worth of supplies and equipment (not counting the air compressor and a shop where you can spray paint), and a few years of practice, you to can get these results! Seriously though, that is impressive workmanship. I particularly like the masking technique, the casual measuring of mixed chemicals, and how easy he makes the job look.
Nice work. This kind of work is not easy. You can do it at home but you got to know what your doing or one small job can be a big one and take long to finish. You gotta respect these guys for doing the hard work making peoples cars look good as new.
Very nice result.!.. But not as simple than that ....i count about 5 or 6 different coat of different stuff you apply. plus the mixing , the sending and we need a special paint gun. I'm use repare rusty body car but your job is like a professional shop
8:11 Now he is just showing off! mean this Guy! is by definition a true perfectionist. that would have been enough and finished with the paint and clear coat.
I see 2 things that worry me when you are doing your job. 1 is that i can't see that you are equiped with gass masks or or ventilated masks, this is relevant because of the hardener in the clear coat. My grandfather got fucked by this at a time when lackershops didn't care for your health. He died much before his time while laboring to breathe, having to wake up at night and breathe oxygen to not suffocate. The second thing was that i think that perhaps you were a little close and the pressure in your system was a little low when applying clearcoat. The finish was not a horrible orange peal, but i would have to get down those bumps to be satisfied.
That does take practice & drier air, the sheet metal is lighter now I found a bit harder to work with. Now, if someone around can still do a nice lead job..
My local Chevy body shop in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area wanted to charge me $4,000 plus for a dent similar to the one in the video. I was at fault during the accident, so my insurance wasn't paying for the repairs. I told them, "In your dreams." Instead, I found a shop on the outskirts of town that imperfectly buffed my dents out without the paint job for 250.00, but the car looked much better than before so I could trade it in. I still got a pretty good trade-in amount from the dealer I bought my new car from. I'm curious to know how much this shop in the video would've charged me. Any idea?
So easy it only took 12 minutes..lol but reallllyyyyyy surprise me , was painting outside , little wind and you get dust.. a fly by mosquito bye smooth surface..but no big deal, it only take 12 minutes to re do it..:)
Gawd. If that's the easy way, I'd hate to see the hard way . Probably banging out the dent with his forehead. It looked about as easy as creating a fire by rubbing two sticks together all day. I had a similar dent put in my car when I was in a supermarket one Saturday 2 years ago when I lived in Florida. Insurance would be no help with a deductible & higher rates going forward. I just called my body shop friend. He had time free the next Wednesday, so my wife followed me to his shop & I left the car. "Call me when it's finished," I told him. I went back home where I work as a remote software consultant & went to work. By lunch, I had earned enough money to pay for the dent so I took the afternoon off. My wife and I went down to the pool at my apartment complex, took a dip, lay out in the sun reading & joking around. I got a call at 4 saying the car would be ready in an hour. She drove me down to the body shop, I wrote out a check & drove home. Of course I don't even have a body shop with all of the gear & materials in my garage, so even if I was inclined to do it myself, I'd have to go out & buy everything I needed before I even started, which would no doubt have cost more than the repair itself. Most people think money is best used for luxury. I think it is best used to avoid annoyance. I'd rather just find somebody already skilled & equipped to do this & pay the expert to do it. Much better results. But, a fun-to-watch video.
Nice to read your story. maybe you are right in your case. In my case, I am a person who loves repairing and is curious about everything.
Amazing, excellent job you did. Thanks for a great VIDEO. God bless👏👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent Job. Very well done.

Many many thanks!!! 💕💕👍👍👍
Nice work 👍
Thank you!!
Super Work.👍❤️

By the way he was barefooted and the no mask approach on sanding, I imagine they would offer to let you be a mule or coyote……
