Most of their campaigns are fairly generic aside from your Lord of choice. Tehenhauin's sacrifices are pretty dope, though; by the time you reach late game, you'll be able to easily give your main armies a solid infantry block of Blessed Temple Guard and then bulldoze the enemy with your 2+ Engine of the God Stegadons.
If I was a Saurus honestly I'd try and taste everything in Warhammer, like they have manticores and shit. My curiosity for their bat wings would literally cause COVID and make papa Nurgle proud. I mean, those things SHOULD be though and sinewy no? Like shark fins. Except shark fins are kind of that way because they're keratin and bat wings are membranous rather than uhhhhhhh, stringy. I know you probably don't care about this, but I feel like typing out the context to this joke anyway: The context is the strategy game Total War; Warhammer II, which takes place in the setting for Warhammer Fantasy Battle. The man talking is Emperor Karl Franz, leader of the main Human faction. He is complaining about Saurus Warriors, a basic infantry unit available to Lizardmen factions. At the time the original Reddit post was made, Saurus Warriors could be recruited basically from the start of the game, and greatly outperformed any infantry non-lizard factions could recruit at that point. He also mentions Kroq-Gar, who is one of the Lizardmen faction leader. Kroq-Gar gives his faction unique bonuses that makes Saurus Warriors even more powerful and cheaper to recruit and maintain. If your factions started next to him, and he turned hostile to you, you'd be in for a bad time.

Not AS Karl, but once during a Belakor campaign, when I finally got around to doing things to the Empire around turn 80 or so, Kroq-Gar had claimed Averland somehow, and a few other properties. I don't think he was at war with the rest of the Empire, and there wasn't any obvious trail of Lizardmen destruction. Just elector count of Averland, Kroq-Gar, vibing.
i havent played beyond the tutorial for TW:W3. ive never played a game of tabletop Warhammer Fantasy. i have like a gorillion saurus models in various states of assembling and painted. "i just think they're neat."
Saurus are the largest non-large units in the game. They in other words seem to have all the perks of large units with hefty mass and high damage dealing, but none of the drawbacks of being vulnerable to anti-large attacks or being big enough targets to be more easily hit by ranged attacks.
I love doing a Lizardmen campaign because your main enemy is Skaven who spam shit infantry. One Saurus unit could probably take 2 or 3 units of clanrats
Should have gotten Halberd instead of spearmen in lustria. Spearmen are what skaven slaves call Expendable. Their only purpose is to die in a needlessly bloody battle as their soft bodies are thrown into a all you can eat buffet.
Halberd versus gor-rok gold chevron unbreakable 70 weapon strength saurus warriors with the tzeench shield so even artillery is less effective against them.
I feel the lesson to be learned here is the lesson to be learned by all warm bloods. Don't resist the machinations of the great plan, the lizardmen know better than you and were built as such.

They made the wulfheart DLC for a reason, the faith, steel and Gunpowder of the empire are pretty powerful against sticks and clubs.
