The Lamenters. A chapter cursed with misfortune. Incomprehensible horrors beyond imagination have met at their tip of the chainswords. Lesser chapters would turn traitor but not the Lamenters, never the Lamenters. For they are the prime example of astartes, Forever loyal and willing to sacrifice to protect the imperium and her citizens from the dangers of the galaxy. In the face of everything a spiteful universe can throw at them, the Lamenters remain loyal to the people of the Imperium. Their Gene-Father is most certainly proud of them.
@@chubbyninja89I personally think Sanguinius will return. And when he does, he will fall to his knees before the Lamenters, tears flowing freely from his eyes, as he tells them that he saw everything they’ve done for those they cherish. Hanging his head, he will tell them he is unworthy to stand in their presence of his noblest sons. The Lamenters will, of course, rush to assure their Gene-Father that they, in fact, are not worthy to stand in his presence. I can’t imagine where this will end.
@@TheAKgunner I don't know, I think it would turn out alright. I was actually working on a 40k fanfic story which part of it is that the Lamenters somehow got hurled back in time to the days of the Heresy, and while they don't play the biggest of big roles, they do help where they can and things ultimately turn out far better than in canon. Now, I will say that I was going to have had some rather non canon things happen, one of which was that a few of the primarchs ended up having children, through various means. And the long and short of Sanguinius' kids if that he has a older pair of twins and a younger daughter, and the Lamenters are allowed to basically be the bodyguards of the older son. I was thinking about maybe having the Lamenters' end be more bittersweet than outright tragic, with them helping in their small way during the Siege of Terra, but sadly, becasue they helped change such major events in the past, they start to dissolve into energy or something like that, and they thank both Sanguinius and his son for helping them to finally feel worthy of being sons of Sanguinius and that they can finally rest in peace. It's not that they're forgotten or anything, just that I thought that it would be a somewhat fitting ending that the Lamenters deserve. But they don't simply fade a way. I was going to have Sanguinius' son basically form an off shoot of the Blood Angels legion and dub them as the Lamenters in their honor.
I love how the Warhammer 40k Community, no matter what faction they're fans of, no matter who they're fighting for.. everyone universally feels bad for the lamenters and just want them to catch a break.
I swear, as depressing as it is to see the Lamenters getting kicked around every five minutes, it really does go to show what being unambiguously good does to you in the 41st/42nd millennium. Like, the Lamenters are WAY overdue for a rebellion, and yet they take a deep breath and just keep chugging along for Mankind whom they love so much. Really hammers home the grimdark in a nice neat package.
@@slayer6498 They were tricked into it, so much so that the fucking MINOTAURS understood this and decided to take them prisoner instead of wiping them out.

"It is not the descent toward the shadow nor the rise toward the light that makes us superior. It is the endless struggle between the two that greatness of character lies. We are tested, and we do not break. We will never fall!" -Sanguinius
1:50 this was probably the lamenter’s bottled up emotions releasing and him just saying “fuck it” he had served for four hundred years and saw so much pain and loss of many of his brothers under an imperium and world that just seemed to hate his chapter seeing a screaming about to be eaten child sorta just pushed the lamenter over the edge
@@fumarc4501fun fact: the lamenter's don't go into the black rage as often as others but when they do it's fucking horrifying, like I fully headcannon the first time another blood angel saw a lamenter go into the black rage they just threw up, also I believe their chapter master has actually came back from the black rage multiple times
The Lamenters truly personify the indomitable human spirit. For no matter how much they suffer, they will always willingly sacrifice of themselves to protect the innocent. We should all strive to be as they are, and be ready to lay down our own lives to ensure others may live to see a better tomorrow.
@mordredpendragon1235 I think the difference is that the Salamanders don't have the entire universe out to get them. While they are certainly up there, they are respected and have had much less calamity misfortune upon them. Meanwhile the Lamentors have received more damage by the imperium than anyone else but still goes strong spirit wise. While their attitudes towards human life is the same, the struggle of what they've gone through isn't quiet the same as far as I understand.
1:47 God this is the reason why I wrote a fanfic just for them. Literally falling into madness just to save one more civilian, one more child. If that is not a hero, I don't know what is.
Memes aside, this is quite a good narrative piece for its brief duration. You can perfectly understand the grimness of war represented in the main character's loss of hope and psicological deterioration, and you can absolutely feel that last spark life and willness to give it all for one child.
This is so far your best work on this channel. Lore-accurate, a little comedian, tragic and epic. Liking most of your uploads, but this is clearly higher class of content
Lamenters: Getting rekt and taking heavy losses with no hope Also Lamenters: Sees one civilian in danger, proceed to show off john wick level of skill to save them.
I say it is not luck that is against them For terrible luck would have seen the chapter die out soon after their founding. No, I think that the Lamenters attract Tragedy, rather than bad luck. Everything they have gone through is but one tragic event after another. But at the same time, they are like that because of their nobility and care for those the universe would grind into pulp.
0:40 It is now my head canon the Minotaurs do the spartan “war grunt” constantly while in battle cause that would be awesome in the 40k setting for space Spartans to do that
I like when the lamenters opted out of Dante's call to all blood angels successor chapters to safeguard Baal against hivefleet Leviathan. They probably got flak and snide comments from the other chapters about it, but it was to ensure the battle didn't go awry on account of their supernaturally bad luck. And considering how the devastation of baal went without them, it's a good thing they opted out. The blood angels almost went extinct and a LOT of successor chapters did go extinct.
No they had to fight another hive fleet on their own. Man compared to leviathan where most blood angel chapters had to fight. Kraken had to fight only the lamenters
It made me cry tears of pride. Sanguinius would be proud of these sons of his, maybe even more so than the main Blood Angels and the rest of their successors. For they embody what he wanted the Blood Angels to be.
I want The Lamenters to be given the ability to enter and exit the Black Rage at will for a power-up in lore as a reward for all the shit they've dealt with

Because that's what I was meant for. For the emperor." Probably going through his head in that split second of thought/reaction.
I actually cried at the end part. Because if you know what they've gone through, it'll make you tear up from pride of how they've stayed loyal despite it all. Sanguinius would be truly proud of these sons of his, maybe even more so than the main Blood Angels and their successors.
Well, you did better than me. I actually cried at that, because when you know all of what they've been through, it brings tears, not of sadness, but pride to your eyes.

Having watched this multiple times now, when looking at that whole video that ending part feels a little like the lamenter veteran's trauma has finally caught up with him, as he looks around at the all too familiar carnage with a tired gaze, his attention is suddenly taken by the scream of an innocent, an innocent like many of the same who die pointlessly in this galaxy, every. single. day. But not today, she will not die this day, today no one dies pointlessly, and so he cries as his final words, a determined phrase free of lament. For those we cherish, we die in glory.
The sad yet gloriously noble fact is that this will be a cycle, That brave Lamenter serving as an inspiration will inspire that child to follow in his footsteps eventually giving his life in the same way he did. Except it's not a cycle of hate, it's a cycle of love, stoicism, and sacrifice for those that need you to be there. Bless the Lamenters, God Emperor rest their brave souls
Everyone’s just sleeping on the fact that the Lamenters are one of the most badass chapters. They aren’t just good bois. If i dare say so, they are genuine angels of The Emperor.
Almost no statement could be truer when regarding these noblest of sons of Sanguinius.
Their gene father would be truly proud of them, maybe even more so than the rest of the Blood Angels combined.
"For those we cherish, we die in Glory."
They are my Bulwark against the Terror - Man Emperor, M31
That second half actually made me tear up a little.
Sanguinius would truly be proud of these sons of his. I would dare to say that he'd be more proud of them than even the main Blood Angels chapter.
For they are truly everything that he wanted the Blood Angels to be.
In the face of everything a spiteful universe can throw at them, the Lamenters remain loyal to the people of the Imperium. Their Gene-Father is most certainly proud of them.
@@TheAKgunner
You're damn right!
@@TheAKgunner
I don't know, I think it would turn out alright.
@@chubbyninja89 Sounds like an interesting read.
Congratulations, you have shown more love to the Lamenters than GW.
love the detail of the lamenter’s service studs increasing going up. Man’s been at it for centuries!
Also, his first mission is as a devastator, second as an assault marine, and the rest as a tactical marine.
Even as a comedy this still bring forth the spirit that make the Lamenters great. Love how the fans make 40k so epic.
Agreed wholeheartedly.
I love how the Warhammer 40k Community, no matter what faction they're fans of, no matter who they're fighting for.. everyone universally feels bad for the lamenters and just want them to catch a break.

Like, the Lamenters are WAY overdue for a rebellion, and yet they take a deep breath and just keep chugging along for Mankind whom they love so much.
Really hammers home the grimdark in a nice neat package.

With the intensity of the Black Rage, but tempered by hearts that still beats for humanity.
@@theenderdestruction2362 I'm pretty sure they also off themselves in the Black rage before they can become a threat to their brothers or civilians.
The Lamenters truly personify the indomitable human spirit. For no matter how much they suffer, they will always willingly sacrifice of themselves to protect the innocent. We should all strive to be as they are, and be ready to lay down our own lives to ensure others may live to see a better tomorrow.
And the Salamanders
@mordredpendragon1235 I think the difference is that the Salamanders don't have the entire universe out to get them. While they are certainly up there, they are respected and have had much less calamity misfortune upon them.
Meanwhile the Lamentors have received more damage by the imperium than anyone else but still goes strong spirit wise.
While their attitudes towards human life is the same, the struggle of what they've gone through isn't quiet the same as far as I understand.

Yeah.
It hit them hard.
I say it is not luck that is against them
For terrible luck would have seen the chapter die out soon after their founding.
