    Tesla ! Not much to worry about gears for PDI everything is automatic no stalling even handbrake auto ! Was the lesson plan agreed though at the beginning? Pdi not mentioned about risk and consequences on waiting too long when there is gap , what cars behind going to do , learner had to mention but PDI should ask few more q&a on that .

    Why was the slow speed not addressed at the time it was happening, and instead raised when parked up?

    He said the road has a 40mph speed limit, but you were driving at 30mph. The speed limit is the maximum allowed, but you should only drive that fast if the road and traffic conditions are safe. Sometimes, it's better to go slower for safety.

    Why is there so much background noice? It’s hard to hear Howard sometimes, it’s sounds you are park next to a diesel truck.

    A driving instructor asking the "learner" what mistake he did back at the roundabout, for the learner may was the correct way.
    Its your job as instructor to SEE IT SAY IT SUSS IT.
    We dont ask learner about the mistake they did.
    but instead.
    "I've noticed back there you went in between two lanes"
    Any thought's on why this it happened?
    What are the risks in doing that?
    What would you do differently next time to improve our outcome?
    Do you need any help from me?
    Howard how the heck do you think this is a grade A driving instructor?
    The summary of the planned lesson shouldn't be more than 2 minutes at the start of the test and also not longer than 3 minutes on the reflect at the end of the test.
    He did about 8 minutes summary.
    Also in some of your other videos, I seen some of the PDIs, are going through the " if there is a need for me to use the dual control or pull the steering wheel then i will"
    Thats not how we supposed to do our job.
    I wonder how people are getting amazed by this video.

      He passed one week after this with 42 so almost an a A grade.
      I’m sure with constructive feedback he’ll be an A at Standards Check.
      When you take the time to provide feedback, what is your aim? To help someone improve on their performance or to criticise?
      Let’s hope you’re not a trainer hey!

    Is the length of that briefing ok ??

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  Рік тому +1

      No briefings, ie don’t introduce a new topic. Just a quick recap, set and agree goals and responsibilities and get moving

    • @kidsshowkidstoys6027
      @kidsshowkidstoys6027 Місяць тому

      That was quick?
      Should've been 2 minutes the summary and 3 minutes max of reflect at the end of the test.

    Never liked using blockers because they could stall and leave you vulnerable. Also a motorbike could come shooting round, and the blocker could even come into your lane if he is a poor driver. Of course in gridlock situations blockers is all you have.

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  Рік тому +2

      You may be thinking of a sheilder.
      These block your view and you need to match them when they move. Difficult for learners to do.
      Blockers however prevent vehicles from the right moving onto the roundabout and create an opportunity to go

    • @johnallard1
      @johnallard1 Рік тому +5

      @@How-2-driveI used to talk about blockers, but I feel the terminology works for instructors but not so much for my students. These days, I tend to talk more about the vehicles arriving from the right coming to a stop, and getting my students to think about why they have stopped, and what it means for us, in terms of what might be coming around the roundabout. If a blocker appears, by the time they’ve realised where it’s going, it tends to be too late, but using the trigger of vehicles stopping tends to make them more prepared to go if the vehicle coming around moves away from the middle and towards the exit.

U just need 2 to 3 min talk . Lesson already should had been started examiner join u on the way to observe . U misleading people information which isnt real . Crap big fat F A I L 😢

      Try focusing on a persons potential, rather than getting bogged down into a slightly longer briefing. Remember we’re role playing and he’s just met his pupil/trainer. A week after this he scored 42 points on his Part 3 exam.
