Howard...You are a balloon FULL if information and experience just on the edge of poppin! a real pleasure to watch this!! Tam done such a brilliant job of being a learner! This was a treat to watch.
Well done Howard.i follow your videos for learning new things. I recently passed my part 3 exam on 17th July ist attempt. My preparation was a mix of yours, BSM and Joseph Duncan ( my private trainer). I scored 39/51 but continuously using the same technique to be ready and improve in my standard check test inshallah.
So just to be clear… and please forgive me if I’ve missed you confirming this in your video. But was that guy in the driving seat pretending to be a pupil and adding faults so they could see how you deal with it appropriately for the part 3? Or was he generally just driving as he normally would? (Still wanting to see how you deal with the test appropriately?)
@@How-2-drive oh thank goodness 😅 he played the part well! Lol… Howard, I’ll be in touch in the near future. I’d like to come to Norwich and do some part 3 training with you.
We can stop briefly to discuss a safety critical issue provided it is safe. You are allowed to stop on yellows. This is not a clearway or marked with red lines
Yes you could. It didn’t concern me as long as he was in control and his steering was smooth and accurate. If there was nothing else that took priority then yes we could look at this
Our examiner here in Norwich is okay with it as there if there is no where else. Just need to ensure the learner understands that you are allowed to stop briefly and not wait
@@ianmcgivern9739 Im a delivery driver and I wouldnt be able to do my job if I wasnt able to do either of these...the real world is much different to rules and regulations...remember, most rules were made in the 60's and the HWC cant handle the modern world.
You can use scaling if you wish, it’s just one technique, or you could just ask how they feel at the start and again at the end. As long as improvement is made
How minor we have to pick on faults, if they don’t get into 2nd gear smoothly and there is a little jerk because they were quick on the clutch. Do I need to talk about it too?
Prioritise faults. Start with high risk stuff over a slightly dodgy gear change. You don’t want to undermine the student, but instead encourage them to get better. Help them do this. Talk to them.
I’m hoping you will be able to give me some advice/tips if poss 🙏🏼 I have my test in two weeks and whilst I am a confident driver and without meaning to sound arrogant , I am confident in my ability to drive… I am failing my mock tests due to my awareness. I am missing signs, usually speed signs and today missed the one way sign and got a serious for not driving in the right hand lane because I was turning right at the bottom of the road (missed the sign hence why I stayed left). I know it’s not something that you can ‘teach’ but do you have any advice on how I fix this. I’m trying my hardest and don’t want to fail due to my lack of awareness. It isn’t due to lack of concentration because I’m concentrating HARD but focusing on road markings and what lane I’m supposed to be in is causing me to miss important things. I did well in my hazard perception for my theory too so I don’t know why I’m struggling with this 😢 Any advice please I have two weeks to try and fix this 🙏🏼
A quick question as far i know u need to take about 3 mins for briefing. Didnt Bilal took a bit long for briefing ? Could you plz let me know as im waiting for my part3. Thanks

Congratulations brother
Great job! We’ll done on the 1st time pass. Thanks for watching
What topic did you use for your part 3? Any tips would be appreciated @farooqshah-oo8hj
I used junctions observations and after achieving this goal . My student then chose commentary driving and I added awareness of other road users.
No level of support agreed at the beginning of the lesson?
What would you like me to help with?
How much support you want from me?
Really good video again Howard ,you made it look so easy .👍Ian from lowestoft PDI
Hi Howard, excellent advice on prompting drivers to read road signs for driving awareness. Very much appreciated.
Very welcome
Hi Howard love your videos but could you invest in clip on mics as a lot of the speech is difficult to hear .....
Are we ok to park up on double yellows for a paet Three test ?
Very helpful information sir thank you so much. And happy to see new videos as well sir
So nice of you
Hi Howard do you have any online course about standard check
Sorry no not yet.
I have my Part 3 online course

Yes he was role playing a student so he could see me deliver a lesson ‘on the fly’

Hi Howard hope you good. How can you pull up on the double yellow line for briefing?

Hi Howard,
Very helpful.
Just wondering, when he is driving often in 1 hand only, holding at 4 o’clock. Could that be discussed?
Yes you could.
It didn’t concern me as long as he was in control and his steering was smooth and accurate.

Love your videos! What’s your opinion on stopping briefly on yellow lines on a standards check? I’ve heard different things from different people!
Our examiner here in Norwich is okay with it as there if there is no where else. Just need to ensure the learner understands that you are allowed to stop briefly and not wait
I would see stopping on double yellow lines as a big no no …surely this would be the same as parking both wheels up on the kerb

Could you please make a vdo on meeting points..plz
Just wondering, isnt it important to scale the student 1 to 10 on how they feel before setting off and then scaling again once its ended?

@@How-2-drive but if I don’t say anything about a doggy gear change will I be penalised?
@@ahsan12330 if it’s just a one off, no you won’t. It would be a very low priority let’s say if they were approaching junctions too fast for example
@@How-2-drive thanks for explaining this. 👍
Did these 2 pass their part 3
Did I miss something or was there NO discussion of how responsibility for risk, at the start of the lesson?
Risk is managed throughout the whole lesson
