I also feel that the Risk Sharing responsibilities have not been agreed before hand - has an agreement been made on Guided vs Prompted vs Independent driving for each section of the drive? It seems that the instructor is just constantly telling the pupil which gear to use (25:40) (26:10), or when to apply the handbrake (27:09)- none of that was agreed before hand until 29:25. Its also clear that the pupil has a problem using the brakes which is evidenced by the constant sharp sudden braking - surely the instructor should now adapt the lesson and have a session on using the brakes efficiently?
I feel that during the Move off and Stop manoeuvre at 21:49, there was no discussion about routines. The instructor could have had a talk on the POM routine which then would have also included the 6-point check, which was only discussed further along at 22:55.
Great point, well made. Thank you. We need to get the pupil to use the basic ‘tools’ to do the job as this will help them remember and then transfer of responsibility will be easier.
Howard, thank you for this video-great acting skills lol.. I have my part 3 final attempt on Friday I’m super scared! Must continue watching more videos and learning to adapt to the lesson & hope I don’t miss anything out 😢
On part 3 role play, are ADI trainers who play as role play learners allowed to make various deviations, my ADI trainer who I've been training with said he's not allowed to make deliberate mistakes such as rolling forward or not checking mirrors before signaling or changing lanes etc ?
Hello. The trainer can make driving faults to simulate a real learner. The trainer, however is responsible for risk. The trainer can not do anything that is dangerous or illegal. To do this the trainer may say what they intend to do, ie I’m going to pull out in front of this car, to give the PDI a chance to intervene either verbally or physically. I hope that helps
Are we allowed to cross the give way lines when we r dealing with undue hesitation at junctions? I know we are but do we first have to stop before them and then peep and creep? If we come to a stop a little beyond give way lines will that be a serious fault?
Hi thank u so much for helping all PDI n adi,,I need some advise about test 2 adi,,any advise,,if the signs not visible in some area outside buildup area what should we do?
Hi Howard. The ' Instructor ' has a nice calm manner but I thought he lacked control especially with MSPSL at junctions and RAB's. You constantly kept looking down at your gear stick when approaching junctions thus taking his eyes off the road. I don't wish to be too critical as his delivery was good but I felt that the errors you made should have been identified and rectified, so when doing left and right turns and using MSPSL would be a blueprint for his RAB's. But a good job and good luck Sir.
If we have an emergency vehicle behind us and only way they can pass us by us going on the kerb. Do we have to go on the kerb and give them space to pass? Will our pupil fail their test for if they don’t go on the kerb to allow space for emergency vehicle?
In these situations, the examiner will assist the pupil and advise them on what to do. So on a lesson, the instructor will do this too and help the pupil. On a Parr 3, discuss so that learning takes place.
Yes you can incorporate into the lesson if they would like to develop this skill. But this will net be enough to pass.. You must be identifying their learning needs and fixing faults during the lesson too
It it a fail - not pass. Level of responsibility at the roundabouts regarding observation agreed ( guided - talked - through) but during the drive PDI does prompt. Did not mention or get a student to tell who's got more responsibility at the beginning, allowed student to break sharply instead of react earlier. Risk management - does the student know who is he responsible for?..
Hello to everyone . my part 3 test 15 May. My lesson plan. Meeting and Anticipation. Could you please help me with which questions to ask during the test.
Just make sure you are delivering the lesson that the pupil needs on the day. As for questions, these will need to be relevant for the situation and how your pupil is doing. Don’t prepare a script or a pre set lesson plan as this will almost certainly fail.

In the beginning they agree to do judgement on roundabout but they worked on brakes/ rolling back /moving off and stopping
Great video Howard, I am teaching for free on the build up to my part 3 and these are great learning tools 👍🏻
Fantastic!
Time 41:50 😅 the examiner at the back! lol very great content! Keep it up 👍🏾
Thank you
You're always helping us lots, sir really appreciate your support 🙏 ❤️
can I just say your roleplay is quite on point!
Very good video Howard thank you for this, and it was nice seeing you at the Newark expo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great. I personally enjoyed this video. Is very informative and helpful. Thanks Howard and team members.
Our pleasure!
How much pressure do you need to apply on brakes did not mention to learner with example
Mate i love your way of teaching.
Keep it up.
Your nice and clear.
Thanks! 😃
Thank you for every second in this video .
one of the most interesting videos on part 3 ive ever seen!
TAM you were supposed to say when 10 mins to go!

You probably meant MSM routine when pulling up on the left again not POM
Fully loaded and all included and a complete package for everyone who are preparing ADI Part 3. Thank you Howard
When you was looking at gears ?Was that something neededentioning?
Yes absolutely. Well spotted my friend

Yes you have to stop before them, if you don't what would be the risks and dangers of any vehicle who comes up to a junction and passes the line?

The examiner should make you ware if signs are not visible

@@How-2-drive your video has helped me so much to prepare me for the coming test.
Thank you
Did this PDI pass his p3? He is quite good.
I was under the impression that the chat before hand should be between 2 and 3 mins. This was 6 mins is this OK?
Yes it should ideally. Better for the instructor to get moving and start demonstrating their skills.

Hi, this is exactly what I thought, not sure if this video would help me with my part 3 test.
"Did the trainer ensure that the pupil fully understood how the responsibility
for risk would be shared?" how was this requirement satisfied?
Hello to everyone . my part 3 test 15 May. My lesson plan. Meeting and Anticipation. Could you please help me with which questions to ask during the test.

@ergunck
Did u pass?
Didn't mention mspsl or lada
The learner asked to be guided, there was no guidance here. At the 1st roundabout the pdi just let him approach with absolutely no help.
Such a common mistake, nerves at first
Did he pass his part 3 too?
“ I can’t see cos your heads on the way” 😂. 38.22 sec give learner more room , see what they are doing first
Great point
Is it ok to stop these many times to talk about fault or would be better to talk through on the drive ?
