What makes sense is that Adrian murdered Garrett.. Garrett lived on the water and found floating in a lifejacket improperly fastened..not likely..where was Adrian's lifejacket? The Alaska state trooper said Hagan never made it back to the Abundance then who raised the anchor Adrian seen hanging off the front through the rifle scope.. ever try carving anything a gun stock with a hunting knife and why so much of a detailed message. Why would you only build a small fire if your stranded and collect wood for 2 or 3 days what was he buying time for? Why not a bonfire? How does one stand in freezing water for 3 1/2 hours in jeans skinning a bear..anyone see a carcass? How did the skiff and kayak tied together get separated ? Alaska shipwreck website listed the Abundance burned and sank in Behm canal.. btw this story says 300 lb of meat other stories say 600 to 700 lb ... Why did he stay within a mile? Why did the coast guard helicopter report they found Adrian wandering aimlessly in the woods .. why does Adrian always look down while talking about Garrett ? He is shaking his head no while talking about what happened because body language is telling you that is not as it happened..Adrian Knopps is a liar a murder and a thief and now his prayer is answered from jehova time to go to prison Adrian

I don't understand why this wasn't further investigated by police. Aside from the fact that Garrett was aboriginal and in many such cases cops don't care.... I mean the story makes no sense.
      1) They said no foul play. But Garrett was found with his life vest on. How does a person drown with their life vest on?
      2) Garrett took all the meat, rather than leave some & take Knobbs which would make more sense as more hands to unload = faster, as he left.
      3) Garrett left his rifle with Knobbs. What hunter leaves his rifle in the remote wilderness? No one. He'd know if he ran into possible trouble (e.g. a bear) he may need it.
      4) Knobbs reasoned within an hour or so that Garrett was dead. Who thinks that way? Most would assume Garrett's tied up, maybe the boat got snagged, and he's delayed.
More than likely Knobbs, been a sheltered city boy, experienced "cabin fever" and in an argument drowned Garrett. The life vest was on weirdly so it's very possible rigor mortis had set in when he was trying to get it on the body. Then realizing just what he'd done he shoved the boat + bear + body down the river.

It makes perfect sense when your covering up a murder..if the ocean kayak was found on a beach how did it get separated from the skiff? If the skiff indeed capsized and sank the kayak would still be attached no? ASP said Hagan never made it back to the boat how did he see the big anchor hanging off the bow through his rifle scope 2-3 miles away? Who pulled the anchor?

this channel is amazing, shows real stories.. one can watch anywhere around the world and understand their accent with the help of subtitles. Pain and Survival stories are really meaningful for the people who ends up their life thinking without (this or that) they shouldn't be alive... but fighting against threat of death is the real act of bravery.

This guys story isn’t lining up. The first thing that’s off is why he took the guns and survival gear to lessen the weight. A bear hide is way heavier than all that. Why not take some of the meat and hide with you on land and come back for the rest? The memorial for his friend the first night? 99% of people who don’t see someone die assume that they are alive in these conditions. He seems to fake being upset but really on a calm day who drowns. Even in an overloaded boat I’ve fallen into much worse without a life preserver and survived in the middle of winter. They should investigate this again. Also knowing he was dead after an hour…nope that’s not right.

To let the people know if you watch Coast Guard Alaska they have an episode as to what happened to the young man and how they rescued Adrian. As the Coast Guard Alaska looked for the skiff and the blue kayak it was overturned and Garrett was nowhere in sight. Adrian, Garretts father, and mother went back to the place where Adrian was found and said their goodbyes and knew that Garrett was where he loved to be. The father did get his sons gun back with and inscription as a remebrance. R.I.P. Garrett for you loved the outdoors so much and God took you home. Watch the next episode it will give you all more insight.

Hunting is a necessity of life in AK especially fishing. But, even in the lower 48 it's a way to put food on the table. Hunting is the primary way of keeping all forms of wildlife healthy and abundant in their natural environment. Please do some research on hunting before you blame these hunters for their "awful" decision making. Predator and prey in nature can be cruel, but it's a fight for survival in the animal kingdom. Most human hunters are law abiding ethical hunters, but there will always be some who give hunting a bad wrap. Please don't look at these two guys with a negative attitude. Most bear hunters want the trophy and nothing more. These guys claimed the meat. They weren't hunting for just the trophy, but even if they were it would be legal. Do some research please as I think you'll be surprised at what you will learn.

The logic in leaving someone behind in a remote place with grizzlies is astoundingly stupid. The bear meat could've waited for a return trip (if it were possible). Doesn't make sense for experienced outdoorsmen to do such a hazardous thing. I don't think he killed his friend, as others believe. Just extremely poor judgments were made. Almost bordering on stupidity. Plus he leaves his gun? What sense did that make?

He kept the guns because he was staying behind on land occupied by bears and wolves whereas his friend was on a boat that was heavy with bear meat so wouldn't want or need the pointless extra weight. They both knew that he was relying on his friend coming back to get him because that was his only way of getting back to the boat and safety. So that urgent need to be picked up quickly means that his friend not coming back straight away indicated that something bad must have happened to him. Not sure what you mean about the river.

I will NEVER make an ex parte conclusion on anything before every conceivable question I have is prepared, answered and cross checked. That said, my 30th year in homicide and a lifetime in the New England woods, tell me that this unfortunate event, as it’s explained, doesn’t hit my ear quite right. What really pulled the fire alarm is that the anomalies are seated in the FBI’s worst possible suggestive categories for violent crime: practicality, logic and decision-making.
Once again, this implies absolutely nothing beyond my reaction. I’m sure that all pertinent questions were asked by competent professionals and all respective responses were examined fully. My comment is about me and my unexpected gut reaction. That reaction is nothing more than what happens when a dozing dog hears another dog barking on the TV. It startled me. I’m glad it takes tangible evidence to prove guilt because tragedies that sound like this DO actually happen sometimes and can easily put blinders on an investigator, making them oblivious to the truth as they pass it by.

They say they found no signs of foul play. But the investigators probably forgot about "cabin fever" people in remote areas can suffer from. Knobbs may have not shot his friend but drowned him - Garrett was found with his life vest on, how can you drown with a life vest on? - and shoved the boat + bear + body away.
As someone mentioned in another post it doesn't make sense why would Garrett take off with all the bear meat & leave Knobbs rather than leave some meat & possibly come back? Why would the friend give away his gun. If Garrett happened to run into trouble himself on taking the meat he may have needed that gun. The fact that Knobbs reasoned Garrett was dead within an hour or so is ridiculous. Anyone else would assume Garrett had run into some trouble - maybe the boat got snagged somewhere - and he's delayed.

That's basically impossible, you can't drown in a lake when you have a life jacket and two boats. Also why did the guy say he "knew he was dead" after an hour? Why would you assume the guy died? I pulled the weather report for he week it's a bit different than he said..all snack bars used by hikers have a reflective inside wrapper for a reason. Not to keep it fresh. Why was poor Adrian found malnourished after 5 or 7 days with 2 hunting rifles and being on the water is like saying he was locked in a grocery store with a can opener and a George Foreman grill.. but I didn't have a plate so I starved... Do a Google search put in Adrian Knopps Alaska .. read and listen to the WKAR talk show a hunt gone wrong then listen to the Wisconsin talk show and come back and say this man is innocent.. also note the Abundance according to the Alaska shipwreck website states the Abundance burned and sank in Behm canal 24 september
