I have an orchid like that. It had 3 blooming spikes and a wonderful root system when I grew it in moss but when I changed it to bark (fixing something that wasn’t broken) it lost all of it roots. Watching videos on how to help it now. 😭
Thank you for your comment! So actually after a month or so some roots did start growing and it seemed to look hopeful, but then it took a turn and in the end it didn't make it. But it was a fun experiment at the time, and there are other you tube channels who use similar methods.

sphagnum moss is pretty helping to keep the base of the orchid moist but not wet , and helps to generate new roots.
